"A perfect stop on a bike tour (enCYCLEpedia Southern California ride RM2) due to the plentiful outdoor terrace with tables that are enough to set bicycles. A very nice attentive young women's server has improved the experience. Antipasto salad was refreshing, tho salad is not as many goodies as others. We get used to their fantastic fresh cakes like the Elton John Veggie, so that our slices, which were sitting out and reheated, did not weigh up as expected, but still good. Something new, they're taking credit cards now. We'll be back, but with more people, so we can get a fresh cake to split."

"What a fantastic and delightful experience! Katie and her husband have been running this restaurant for over a year now, maintaining the original name. All the dishes on the menu were crafted by Katie's husband. We enjoyed freshly baked bread with a customizable garlic balsamic dip, Caesar salad, soup, pizza, meatballs, and fettuccine among the six of us. The food was absolutely delicious! Katie personally served us while her husband worked in the kitchen. I highly suggest trying out this restaurant. We will definitely be returning when we come back to the desert. Thank you, Katie!"

"Food was over the top amazing….we had linguine with mussels and clams and the cheese tortellini with smoked ham and peas! Also a caprese salad. Food was very good, portions were good size and such good value. Would highly recommend trying it as you won’t go wrong!"

"I have tried the chicken piccata before and I remember it being much better in the past. However, tonight it was rather bland. Another issue was that one of my friends found a live bug on their salad lemon. The waiter asked if we wanted him to see if something could be done, but he should have taken care of it without involving us in the decision. It was an uncomfortable situation. He then offered a complimentary dessert, which we declined. Overall, it was not a great dining experience."

"I have been coming here for 3 years and the pizza is one of the better options in the desert. However, after tonight we will never spend another dollar here. We came in tonight at dinner time around 630 or so, the server just stared at me and wife till we asked to dine in. He said just grab a table, we sit down and he absolutely will not acknowledge me. No response to how are you doing today or your welcome to my thank you’s, nothing. We give it around 15-20 minutes or so he circulates multiple tables, multiple times and ignores us. While he is upbeat and holding conversations with every other table. As we were getting ready to pay for our soda and leave due to lack of service a lady came over and asked if we needed anything. My wife placed our pizza order and I ask what the kids deal is, he won’t serve us and she just says sorry. Our pizza is ready, he literally just brings it over and puts it on the holder and starts to walk away as my wife asked for ranch, not a single word was said but he did bring the ranch. The kid goes to the register and starts making Asian jokes about bonzai trees and doing it in an Asian accent. We eat a couple pieces and my wife is so infuriated at this point so she pays and we just cut out dinner early. Never have we experienced such blatant racism with no management or anything to do anything about it."

"Tonight, we dined at Mitch 's on the El Paseo and Portola in Palm Desert. The place was packed! Outdoors we noticed a great beautiful white bougainvillea, which aren 't that common. We 've been many times here. There were five of us dining tonight, sitting outdoors in the evening. A bitter wind came up, and we all got chilly. But then they turned on these beautiful heaters. And we suddenly noticed that all the booths were lighted up and had been recovered in a new delightful, fresh print. Our waitress, Mallory, who we 've had many times before, was her usual cheery self. Small complaint, despite specifically asking them to time the courses, they came on top of each other, and we did feel rushed. Our host bought a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio (See pic), which was excellent. It wasn 't Silver Oak excellent, but very nice. For starters, the other guests split Caesar salads, our host had his favorite soup, French Onion . He noted they put chives in which is abnormal, but he thought tasted ok. I had the Caprese Salad, which was beautifully presented with Heirloom Tomatoes and Burrata cheese. The burratta was not as smooth as in past but still yummy. For entrees, the host ordered the duck and thought it was delicious; his date had an enormous pork chop (See pic), which was served with potatoes and green beans. She said it was on the borderline of being too well cooked, but was ok. The other two guests both had the filet mignon, which I double-checked was cooked a true Medium Rare. I had two orders of sushi, California roll 6 piece, and Crunchy Tempura (also known as a Carburator Roll) 12 piece. Couldn 't eat the CA rolls and took those home (too full). We declined dessert coffee but I took pix of the menu. Enjoy!"

"I had a fantastic dinner! The service was exceptional. I spoke with the manager about our reservation and mentioned that it was a special occasion. I was shocked at how good the food is, big dishes. That starter soup is amazing. The only thing I noticed is the menu is huge and it would take me a year to taste every amazing dish. Outdoor patio. All is SUPER clean and neat, with a super clean bathroom. More of a modern type of restaurant, not all kinds of visual fluff, but it's clean and you can sit at a bar. I keep going back.Kid-friendliness: Patio for noisy kids.Parking: Plenty of parking there and the street has island parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure. It's the law and Code. "The absolute best dining experience we've ever had. Our waiter was Joey, Mimmo's son, and he was absolutely amazing. The whole family works there and you can taste the love in the food. The pesto gnocchi tasted just like nonna made it in the back (I wonder if she did???! . Don't even get me started on the homemade gelato and limoncello. Absolutely wonderful!!!"

"Absolutely delicious Italian food. My wife and I found this place while in town for a concert and gave it a try. It was a stifling 116 degrees and as we poured our way through the door looking for relief from the heat. The place is tucked away in a corner of nice little shopping center. The staff is friendly and the place is cleananf kempt (minus a fidgety front door ? with an Italian/sports bar feel. It presents itself as an Italian place without all the stuffiness one might expect from a high-end place. The menu was pretty big with what seemed like a lot of authentic Italian dishes. I settled for the homemade beef short rib ravioli and my wife got the tried and true chicken parmesan while starting with some garlic flatbread. I 'll be honest, I was concerned because sometimes when local restaurants claim everything is homemade, it can be difficult to live up to that promise, especially when the place isn 't super busy, which this place wasnt, on a Friday night at 5 pm. The flatbread came out and within just a few minutes it was gone. Remarkably flaky dough, thin and crispy but soft with just the right touch of garlic and butter. It was absolutely delicious and it makes me regret not getting a pizza if that 's similar to how the crust is. My ravioli was fresh, had amazing flavor and perfectly cooked vegetables. My wife 's chicken parmesan was exactly the same. The food was so good! Great flavors with an obvious nod to being homemade and authentic as they didn 't taste as one-dimensional like typical american-italian places we are used to. We aren 't in this area often, but will for sure go back just to deep dive into that menu. If your in the area, you need to give this place a go, the food is fantastic!"

"Wanted to go to Kaiser Grille for two reasons. One…it was Restaurant Week and two…KG is closing for remodeling for an unknown amount of time. The RW menu was a great value and both dinners were very tasty. I had the salmon and my husband had the ribeye. Both were seasoned nicely and cooked perfectly. Be sure to ask for bread…nice and warm focaccia-like…yum! The lava cake was one of the best I’ve had. The cake was moist and the lava was gooey. Our waitperson was Bryan and he was wonderful. Very attentive and friendly. Hope the remodel doesn’t take too long as we look forward to eating there again soon!"

"A hidden jewel... and boy, I mean hid. The Karen's Cafe was an unexpected oasis of the Palm Desert. Finding a little tricky, but incredibly rewarding once there. The owner worked the baby blue lacquered front with graceful lightness and a warm, friendly demeanor all through a charming Polish accent. The food was fast, simple and tasty. I would like to recommend the salad of Janella as a healthy and refreshing bite that meets more than your wishes. All in all, if you are looking for good food in a cheerful, whimsical environment - you have found the place. Thank you to the staff for a great experience!"

"It was Cinco de Mayo, but not too busy at 2pm. Sat indoors in a very cute restaurant. Great cold beer. Service slow to come to table despite mostly empty tables inside. Two of us split a combo fajitas. Very small portion with not much beef. Peppers and onions good. Chips were crisp. Guacamole was average. Not much spice. Will return for beer and nachos."

"We had a party of 16 with separate checks, and our servers did an excellent job. Our drinks and food were served quickly, and the owner, Roland, stopped by our table to check in. I tried the meatloaf, which was wonderful, and I didn't hear any complaints about the food from anyone else. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! I highly recommend Roc's Firehouse Grille!"

"CINDY at the Palm Desert location is amazing! It was our first time at Luna Grill, and Cindy made sure we had the absolute best experience possible. "The restaurant staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The table was a bit crowded, but overall the experience was great. Unfortunately, my entree was not up to par, although the bread and pate provided were excellent. The onion tart was tasty, but the puff pastry was soggy. The sand dabs I ordered were delicious, but I wish I had known about the sauce beforehand so I could have requested it on the side. The plate was a bit messy with the sauce mixing in with the potatoes and carrots. My husband's Osso Bucco was fantastic. We were too full for dessert, but the desserts we saw looked amazing. We will definitely be returning next time we are in town."

"After recently moving to Palm Desert I dined with friends at Flor De Jalisco. I absolutely love the food there. You know it is authentic when the rice and beans are filled with flavor. I love their chile rellenos and enchiladas. Their salsa, guacamole, and chips are excellent as well. Their wait staff are warm, attentive, and friendly. The restaurant offers indoor and outside dining and the dining tables are not crowded together. Nice, clean, environment.... I'm on my way there tonight!"

"Dinner at the Schnitzelhaus is always excellent. The owners are German and know how to prepare it. The decor is very Bavarian with Bavarian holiday clothes (Lederhosen and embroidered shirts and blouses), beer steins and signs. Tables are the heavy wood furnishings you might find in Munich or Fussen. The beers are mostly genuine German with many on tap. Wine list is a bit weak, but had good wines. Many menu items are really excellent, but I usually get one of the namesake Schnitzels. Pork is standard, but chicken and veal are available. I have not tried the veal, fearing that it is the flavorless and cruely raised American meat and not the proper European veal. The red cabbage is excellent as are the Spetzle and Bratkartoffeln. The place is small and reservations are strongly recommended."
