"I ordered a chicken parm hero and a chicken gyro, and it was the worst experience I've ever had! The chicken in the gyro was dry and lacking flavor. The pita was stale and tough. The fries had a strange taste, likely due to old oil. The chicken parm hero was priced at $10.99, but it was only half a sandwich! It was bland, and there was hardly any chicken in it. Overall, the experience was terrible, and I would never order from here again!"

"We took the ferry from Connecticut and decided to skip our usual seafood lunch in favor of pizza. I believe the best way to evaluate a pizzeria is to order the classic cheese, though I also enjoy a half-and-half with pepperoni. The pizza was outstanding! The crust was large, thin yet foldable, with a delicious sauce and fresh mozzarella. The interior of the restaurant was really nice, the server was pleasant, and the service was quick. The only downside was that the pizza got cold pretty quickly, but it was still delicious! I will definitely return and spread the word; this place is a must-visit for anyone looking for pizza while on a trip to Port Jeff! I also noticed that the rest of the menu and specials sounded tempting—maybe I’ll try them next time!"

"The food here is amazing. I actually didn’t get the pasta when I went so I can’t say it’s the best pasta on Long Island. I had the lobster pizza and it was absolutely amazing. They also bring out a huge loaf of garlic bread right out of the oven it’s so fluffy and moist and delicious! Some of the best bread I’ve ever had. All their ingredients are quality and everything tastes really fresh. The place is a bit small and the first time I went it was a Saturday and they kinda rudely said you had to have a reservation on Saturdays but the food by far makes up for it."

"I recently moved to Port Jeff about four months ago and I order from OF about four times a week, but it’s definitely not just to support the owners. The food is simply that amazing—every single time! You really can’t beat it. On top of that, their exceptional customer service is the cherry on top. The attention to detail from the hostess to the chef is something I will remember for a long time. So far, I’ve only ordered delivery, but the fact that they recognized my name when it popped up on their screen made me feel special. "My partner ordered me Salsa Salsa for lunch through doordash in the picture it shows three tacos he ordered me pork tacos and shrimp tacos it's literally one of each taco disgracefully packed in a tin with mostly tomatoes obscenely over priced for disgusting quality if I wanted tomatoes I would have went to the store and gotten tomatoes.... Definitely do NOT recommended and don't see the hype... Plenty of other authentic taquerias local To make matters even worse I tried the pork out of the taco is was basically as dry as a piece of leather."

"Yes, the vegan options are somewhat limited But only if you stick to the menu as written. You can choose from two vegan broths regular OR spicy. There are many vegetables you can substitute or add in, so if there are things you don’t like and want to eliminate, or things you DO like and want to add, you can. That said, their straight-up vegan option is delicious and plentiful, so you feel well taken care of regardless of being surrounded by a plethora of meaty dishes."

"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"I always enjoy the food at this restaurant! I won't mention my favorite dishes because they might raise the prices. The tofu bhurji was tasty, but messy when wrapped. I would prefer it as a tofu scramble so I could eat it with a fork. The prosciutto is always cut too thick, so I would recommend avoiding it. Overall, the food and beverages here are delicious."

"You can learn a great deal about someone, especially a restaurateur, by the ketchups, condiments, and oils they choose. Owner Jitendra scored exceptionally high on my scale for high-quality, health-conscious food in numerous ways. For starters, his salmon pita is so exceptional that my husband insisted we stop in on our way to the hotel. Despite the kitchen nearing closing time and it being a relatively quiet night, Jitendra graciously agreed to prepare the salmon pita for us. It was beyond delightful—truly unforgettable. The dish was served with a homemade wasabi-aioli that dripped over the lettuce and tomato on the sturdy, delicious pita. Absolutely fantastic. I eyed the ketchup bottles for our side of French fries, which we ordered in addition to the included coleslaw—a generously portioned, delicious slaw without mayo. Remarkably, the ketchup was Trader Joe's organic, with NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Amazing. This choice alone speaks volumes about the quality of food at this place. I forgot to ask Jitendra what kind of oil he uses in the fryer—hoping it’s not canola. I’ll update once I find out. However, I suspect he uses a better oil, given the rest of the offerings. Our cashier, Caroline, was lovely and helpful. This will definitely be our go-to spot in Port Jefferson."

"I have been visiting this place for many years, and every time I walk through the door, it feels like being transported to a fairytale cottage. "So good! We came for lunch and had the prickly pear margaritas, which we added jalapeño to, and they were amazing. Not too sweet and very fresh tasting. Mom had the watermelon slammer and it was very natural fresh squeezed juice. The cocktails were a 10/10 for sure. We then had 6 oysters on the half shell, which were a good value all things considered. Pretty big and delicious. Then we had a cold lobster roll and hot lobster roll, with waffle and regular fries. The bread for the lobster rolls are amazing, and soooo much delicious lobster. The fries were crispy and flavorful. I’m not huge on cole slaw and even that was great. We loved everything we ordered here and will definitely be back! Bonus: we had my chocolate lab with us and we were able to sit on the patio with him."

"Had the pleasure of choosing Tara Inn for lunch today, every establishment can learn a lesson from the customer service that my friend and I experienced. Upon walking in we were greeted by Peter, Tara’s husband and son-in-law of the founder who named the bar for his daughter 47 years ago. We told him it was our first visit and he offered us seats and welcomed us. The regulars at the bar guided us through the menu and we each had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles for $1 per burger expecting very small burgers we were surprised to find them standard sized and deliciously prepared to medium. My friend had the fried shrimp and I had a $13 steamed lobster! Excellent! They offer daily specials and one of the gentleman at the bar told me their steaks are very good. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel at home. A charismatic women came out from the back and introduced herself as Tara she thanked us for choosing to lunch there. Why can’t other places realize the importance of making a first time patron feel welcome. I Had a great afternoon enjoying the excellent variety of beers that they provide on tap. The charming decor has probably changed little since the ‘70s and that adds to the vibe. If you want to go to the friendliest bar on Long Island, head over to Tara Inn."

"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"Great food. This place was found while waiting for the ferry. Ideal location with a beautiful atmosphere by the sea. The staff was very polite. The food was great. So many good looking elements on the menu. This visit I had the New England Clam Chowder, it was great and hit the place. I had no good cup of shells in a long time, and that hit the place.
