"All of these high reviewers must not get out much. I hate to be so negative, but wow... things could have gone better.With all the fuss about this restaurant we were happy to only have a 30 minute wait for a party of four. After we were sat, reviewed the menu, and ordered- our food took over 35 minutes to arrive. During this time our waitress checked on us once. Not that we needed anything, but they were not crazy busy and it is only breakfast food. Seemed a little excessive.I had the Croque Madame and it was very good. Everything else our party ordered was below average. My wife had their eggs Benedict special, it was cooked ok but lacked flavor and the pork was quite tough. My brother had an omelette with cheese and bacon, his cheese was not even melted. My sister-in-law had the corned beef from the waitresses suggestion and it was pretty horrible. We had a couple waffles on the side and they didn't have the right texture and lacked flavor. Not to mention the only thing hot on any of our plates were the potatoes.It was a pretty big letdown and other than the lovely atmosphere, there weren't many redeeming qualities. With so many other great restaurants, who has time to give a sub performer a second chance?To those about to dine, do yourself a favor and skip the blowsevelt room."

"I love BBQ, and this has been on my list of spots to try for a long time. Locals rave about this place! We wound up going right when they opened at 11am so we could dine in and not have to wait in line. This place can get packed so plan accordingly! There are several meat and side options that you typically find at many BBQ restaurants. I wound up going with the two meat plate dinner. I ordered chicken (dark meat), pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw. The plate comes with buttered toast. I also ordered an additional side of mac n cheese. There were several sauces to choose from such as sweet, mustard, vinegar, and more! The baked beans was the star of the meal. Probably some of the best I've ever had! The mac n cheese was average. The rest of the food was good, but I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had (or even the best in the Jax area imo). The service was top notch! Our waitress checked in on our table frequently and always made sure our drinks were filled. Dessert is offered here, but we were all too full to try any. The only real knock is that it seemed a bit pricey compared to other spots I've been to. Granted, ongoing inflation may be impacting their pricing."

"We often drive by this shopping center without stopping, but we decided to try something new based on the reviews of this place. We regret not trying Pampa sooner. We ordered a chicken milanesa, a chivito, two types of empanadas, and a Mediterranean salad. Everything was freshly prepared, well-seasoned, and delicious. We also tried some of their dessert cookies, which were sweet due to the dulce de leche filling but tasty. Pampa has a limited menu on one side, but they offer daily specials, including 6-8 types of empanadas, 3 sandwiches, 2 salads, a few side dishes, and 4-5 desserts. There is plenty of options to choose from and mix and match. The owners, a man and a woman, are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be adding this place to our lunch or casual dinner rotation."

"I love St Augustine the past year I've come to visit this amazing city on a monthly basis. About 6 months ago me and my boyfriend were walking down the street and seen a sign that said husband daycare and I said we must go inside. Well as entering I noticed it was a little Irish pub and I'm Irish and now I'm even more interested and as we walk in Donavon greeted us and made us feel like we were right at home and we had the most amazing time and Donavon is was completely on top of his game. We now look forward to coming to st Augustine to come to Ann O'Malley's to see Donavon. Hands down one of the best bartenders I've had in a very long time."

"Out of many choices, CORNER Sushi has become our go-to place in St.A for sushi. We live on the island, and do not hesitate to drive over to US1 for them. We most often order takeout, and it’s always fresh and ready when they say. They are always tossing in that strange little seaweed dessert/sushi, which is interesting but also appreciated. I always say, you can always tell the worth of a restaurant by the volume of customers. This place is almost always loud and vibrant and busy, which I think tells the story for them, for if nobody was going there, people would not think that it’s any good.This place, along with Misou Sushi up at Bayard (which is now closed, boo), the sushi at Palencia, and this CORNER Sushi are the best we have found. Enjoy."

"Though the food might be good, the service was bad and the atmosphere was lackluster. For a place to have such high recommendations and reviews this place fell very short of expectations. I took my gf here for her birthday and was excited to take her here. Made the reservations and even selected birthday as the occasion. When we got to the restaurant our table hadn 't been cleaned off, nobody said happy birthday or even asked what the occasion was. The waitress was not polite and made it seem like we were an inconvenience for wanting to ask a question that may have taken 1 or 2 minutes of time. Now I understand that if a place can hold over 200 people is packed and you are rushing around, then yes I can understand being rushed, but this place holds maybe 25 people max at a given time. We also wanted to try something and asked the server her opinion and the server acted like it would be gross if we ordered it, that is distasteful and just made my gf upset. I even tried talking to the manager about the experience and just didn 't get anything in response and so we left hungry. I get this place might have good food but let 's be honest, you can find good food anywhere and especially in a place like st augustine. When you are spending $100 per person you are paying for the experience and are looking to enjoy yourself, this place falls way short of that. St augustine has many great restaurants and if you are actually looking for a nice place that you will enjoy then I urge you to look elsewhere."

"Found Mango's on the scenic way back to Merritt Island for a quick trip to St. Augustine. Incredible find for us!! Loved everything about it we said it was a happy feeling place. Bright, cheerful, excellent service. Food was delicious and the Yucca fries with that amazing sauce were over the top good we bought some sauce to bring home. It's close enough, about and hour and 45 minutes, that I'll definitely be taking some Harley trips up the coast for lunch again...and a definite stop on our return to St. Augustine. Thank you Mango's for a wonderful stop over on our trip!!"

"We went to the Sainte George for our anniversary dinner Saturday 1/6/24. It was nice and the food was INCREDIBLE. Dinner with 4 drinks, an app, two entrees and two salads was like $280 total including the 20% tip. Not bad at all! BUT our server at our table was the bartender also and while he was ... polite.... he couldn 't have been more bothered to be taking care of us. He didn 't tell us his name, he didn 't tell us the specials, he didn 't check on our drinks, he didn 't bring us our meals (it was the kitchen 's food runner I believe)... He got the orders right.... but outside of that there was zero interaction with us...We were even his customers at the bar prior to getting our table. When he was at our table, he didn 't even say Hi, have you had a second to review the menu? He didn 't say anything...like awkwardly silent... and we couldn 't understand him hardly when he did speak. It wasn 't a speech thing because I over-heard him talking to his co-workers just fine. I am not a complainer... like ever. I have worked in the service industry for years and have the most respect for the kitchen staff, servers, all of it.... Not to mention, we had a reservation for 7:00, and my sister, knowing it was our anniversary, called ahead Saturday afternoon and asked the manager to allow her to buy us two drinks on her credit card ahead of time as a little gift to us on our anniversary, and that wasn 't brought up at all during our dinner. Of course, I didn 't know about it then, but that same night once my sister asked if a round of drinks had been paid for..No??? So, we went back and the manager honored it and said she spoke to my sister personally and she just forgot about it. The servers around us were so kind and bright and at least somewhat engaged with their tables. Ours FELT like.... can I help you? why are you here? We felt uncomfortable and it was really weird and awkward the whole time. Again, clean, great GREAT food... beautiful setting, but won 't go back"

"Hagen Dos, Haggard Dust Jen Barry Batman Robins whatever can 't hold a candle to Cold Cow! So many flavors so little time! We were there for the last 10 days in that time we spent about $150 one (maybe two) scoops at a time! My desire is to eat my way through their entire menu selection, but I get stuck on about 4 or 5 flavors. They have this thing where no matter what size you get, you can mix different flavors. The most I have done is a medium with three. When I say medium it 's a little more than you might expect. We always get it to go, so they put it in the pint size container and trust me, it 's full FULL! They are very generous and very reasonable. Case in point for some dumb reason, we thought we would give Mayday a shot. We get there not too busy. I look at the limited selection the permanent display sample of one and two scoop servings in a dish. One scoop is $5.95 and is exactly that a scoop. Two scoop is $7.95 a fair deal. I quickly decide to go back to Cold Cow for my usual probably twice the ice cream for about $2 less! I had Mayday one day downtown before I discovered Cold Cow it was good. There is a family of 4 behind the other members of our family as I have stepped out of line. The dad immediately starts to complain to his wife about the price as compared to the portion size. My daughter in law quietly tells him about Cold Cow they leave. A couple in our group get a scoop or two. One, my daughter, didn 't like it enough to give up her Cold Cow calories. She gives it to her sister. We get to Cold Cow the family behind us at Mayday is now in front of us. Mayday has maybe 20 flavors, Cold Cow has over one hundred! They list 140, but most times they are out of certain flavors. So what you see online have a backup, your first choice might not be available. The parents make the kids try something unique not the plain Jane flavors they usually get. They didn 't even offer to buy ours for the suggestion! Well, there was seven of us that may have mattered. I confessed earlier that I am stuck on a few flavors, but 9 out of 10 times, Graham Central Station is my go to for the bottom layer. Most times I top that with Coconut Almond Fudge trust me, it 's amazing! I tried the Chocolate Cake last time and it was really good, too. My wife her favorite is Kahlua Almond Fudge on the bottom layer, then Pirates Plunder on top. The grandsons almost always get Superman yeah it 's just vanilla and food coloring, but it 's their favorite.They did stop giving samples along the time COVID hit and have kept that rule in place. I 'm actually OK with samples really slow down the line. One reviewer said something about paying a king 's ransom for a scoop without getting to sample it could not be further from wrong. You go on and go to Culver 's like you stated. Get any flavor you want as long as it 's the Flavor of the Day ."

"We were sightseeing across the street and met up with all our friends for lunch on the upstairs balcony facing water. It was too hot and we were told there is a patio downstairs in the back. There were 12 of us and all the little tables were taken except for 1. We sat at a long table in the walkway. None of us noticed the sign that says no food service at that table. So it was 10 minutes before a waitress came over to tell us we can't order food there. We had to split our group in 2's and 3s and wait for tables to open so we could order food. The waitress was snappy and it took a long time to even order our drinks at the bar. We just got an appetizer and left to explore St. George Street and find another place to eat lunch. Our friends, that were able to get a table by the stage were still waiting for their drinks when we left. There were 2 waitresses/bartenders and it was busy, so I wish they had more staff to handle that area for smoother service. It's a beautiful restaurant and from what I can see from other reviews they serve good food. Just wish we had a better experience and a chance to try it. We loved St. Augustine, so maybe if we ever make it back to the East coast we will give it another try"

"we had a great dinner last night. it was my birthday, and I was looking forward to the duck just to find that it wasn't on the menu now. instead I had the seafood. cazuela and it did not disappoint. the seafood were perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing. my man had the lamming frame and it was also great. also the Plantain Appetizer was delicious. our only complaining was that the escaped warm, not hot, but instead of sending them back, we enjoyed them as they were. we will return if they are not out of the sea.."

"Such a quaint place. Felt like I was eating in a home somewhere in Italy. Wonderful, personalized and intuitive service from Ann Marie. All four of us had seafood and were very happy. The table next to us ordered an extra large pizza. It looked so good that we called in a to go order a couple days later. One of the top pizzas we’ve ever had. I ordered a gluten free pizza, it was one of the best I’ve ever eaten! This is our go-to restaurant in Crescent Beach. Thank you Viola’s for providing such a great experience for your customers!"

"The food was good, but that is about it. Pretty terrible service on New Year's Eve.The waitress was more interested in the many conversations she was having at the bar with other employees and often with the few other customers that were there while we were.On top of that and this one, I can even believe. I wanted to use the men's room before we left but there was no toilet paper in there. I went back to the bar, asked the man that looked like he was running the place, to please put more toilet paper in there and he looked utterly confused about what to do. He also said shockingly I do not know where the toilet paper is and I can't help you He then made it into something funny he needed to share with other patrons at the bar. This was disgusting and terribly unacceptable. We will not be back."

"During our visit, we had chicken cordon bleu with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes, steak quesadillas, pesto salmon with mixed vegetables, basil chicken pasta, chocolate cheesecake, and peanut butter explosion. Everything we had was very good, and the portions were plentiful. The staff was friendly. The only complaint I have is that the dining area looked messy in one section. I don't know if they were working on a project while closed for Covid-19 and decided to open back up before finishing or what. I totally get that if that was the case. It was a little off-putting though, although the food was excellent. We recommend the food, for sure."

"This is my favorite restaurant in Saint Augustine and I’m sure anyone that goes there will have the same opinion. Service is lovely and super helpful, from the front door all the way back in the kitchen. Everyone’s just so nice and make you feel more than welcome. Besides that, the food is amazing!!! The cornbread is a must, the seasoning is great and it is really well served. I’ve had it with shrimp, as suggested by the waitresses, and I loved it! My cousin had the shrimp n grit and loved his dish as well. The grit is like a polenta cake, which is different from the creamy ones, but very tasteful. I’ve had a couple bites too, so I can confirm his opinion. The pink lemonade was really refreshing, which is more than welcome during Florida’s summer, and the desserts were delicious! We had the salted caramel brownie, which was gluten free and super nice, and the Kentucky Derby Pie, which comes in huge slices and tastes soooo good (we had it to go cause we were full from the meal, but we really wanted to try it). Cherry on top, the environment is super nice. It’s an old house and outside you can find cute tables surrounded by cute plants, while the inside is very well decorated and cozy. Even the restroom was adorable! Most definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to have a good meal with fair prices the best value for money in the city!"

"Located in the southern end of downtown St. Augustine, my wife and I found Nonnas Trattoria offering Italian food as good as we've had anywhere in the US or Italy. In a rustic and comfortable storefront, the restaurant offered a limited menu with wonderful flavors. The food was prepared fresh in an open kitchen where we could watch the chef cook each individual meal. We started with the fried ravioli appetizer and then enjoyed the pasta bolognese and grouper in light lemon sauce. While I lack the culinary vocabulary to properly describe the nuance of flavors delivered in our dishes, suffice it say we happily finished everything. We were fortunate to get walk-in service but the number of tables inside are limited. They also offer some outdoor seating on the street, but I would recommend reservations to be sure you get the opportunity to enjoy all that Nonnas has to offer in great food and wonderful service."

"NO Fried Clam on the menu! I brought my 87 year old mother confident a real clam farm restaurant that serves fried oysters, fish, fritters, french fries etc would have fried clams. NOT! Although many other respected seafood restaurants (Schooners for example) have fried clams, Commanders doesn’t have them and I’m told they have no plans to. "We ground this place by chance while on vacation here in St Augustine. We returned with friends the next day, and then on our trip back through town, we stopped again for breakfast. The food was outstanding every day. From the western omelet (completely loaded with stuff) to the biscuits and gravy, which was like I make at home. My wife had the waffles and thinks they put crack in them she says they are amazing. The fruit was fresh, and everything else was done to perfection. We had different waitresses each time, and they were excellent. On the ball, I am very attentive. Our drinks were kept full, plates were cleared as needed, and we never once felt rushed. We will choose the Metro Diner for breakfast every time we are in St Augustine in the future. Parking: They share a parking lot with a stroller mall so there is more than enough parking at all times. "The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable. I think this is one of the best meals we have had. The filet was prepared perfectly and came with a choice of sauces. It also came with a selection of a side. Portions were family style and delicious. And, the wedge salad was to die for. Wish they had a full bar as we love a martini before our meal but will definitely go back"
