"We were delighted to finally return to Marcelâs after two years away, and it did not disappoint. We were celebrating our granddaughterâs Sweet Sixteen with an elegant dinner out, and this was the perfect spot. Everyone treated her like a star. The staff all came to the table to wish her a happy birthday, and the chef had both personalized her menu and invited her to the kitchen after dinner for a photo. On top of it all, she has celiac disease, which they handled perfectly. She finished one basket of gluten free bread and received another. The staff were able to modify all the dishes she wanted to ensure that they were gluten free, while still being beautiful and delicious. It was truly a special experience, but donât wait for an occasion to come back to Marcelâs. If they resume their limo service to the Kennedy Center, all will be right with the world again. Thank you to all who made our granddaughterâs evening remarkable."

"Excellent food and our waiter was fantastic as well. My biggest complaint was how there was a 25 minute wait to get a table. Once the table was available, I noticed it was the table with the high chairs (which is difficult for me to sit on given my some health issues). I told them I had booked a table in the main dining room and they said that one isn’t available and he couldn’t give me a timeframe of when one would be available. We finally got seated at the right table but I’m just surprised by the long wait when I had a reservation for three people from weeks ago. Still an amazing restaurant and always recommend this place!!"

"I’ve been to Farmers Distillers numerous times and some were not so good. This was definitely the worst experience. It took more than 5 minutes for the host to come to the host stand and seat a party that was there before us and then us. When we were seated it took another 5-10mins for the waiter to come and greet us. After which he didn’t seem to be too familiar with what was available. We were told they were waiting on a shipment. It would have been great if we’d been informed what was not available on the menu before we made our selections. We opted to just leave instead of the multiple substitutions that would have been necessary. When informing the host of our departure he was incredibly nonchalant about the whole thing. Overall; this was the most disappointing experience and it seems F D has really struck out."

"Service great. All waiters and waitstaff worked well together ensuring myself and others at my table always had still or sparkling water. Salt on tables but no pepper-would think makes sense to have both on table (with pepper being fresh ground)-when ask they gladly come and provide. Tables relatively small and quickly gets crowded with entrees, an appetizer and a few alcohol beverages. Went on a Friday night and had a “lounge” feel to it with lively crowd and decently loud music. Do not expect a quiet intimate place for dining"

"Our server had a poor, disinterested attitude. After dropping our cocktails, she seemed annoyed that we were not immediately ready to order. Once we received our food no one came back to check on us for a long time. My husband's cocktail was made incorrectly. Also, I ordered a glass of the Trefethen Chardonnay which is listed for $16 on the menu but then we were charged much more for the wine. When we asked about it, the server said that she assumed we wanted the 9 oz pour which was extremely deceptive as she did not ask which size pour I preferred. When we got our bill, she hovered over us with a credit card machine that only offered gratuity starting at 20%. There was no opportunity to review the bill privately and make a decision about what we felt an appropriate gratuity would be for the level of service we received. Taking advantage of customers is never acceptable! We have been to this restaurant a number of times both personally and for private professional events. After last night's experience, we will be in no rush to dine or host events at Ocean Prime again."

"So here is the deal. I got a dinner for 2 valued at $120 thru Verizon up program. After making the reservation I took my wife and we went to the restaurant. The restaurant is very nice and quiet with low lighting, it has a modern look to it. The lady who greeted us was super nice and gave us our Verizon up menus. Then came the server. When she saw we had Verizon up menus she looked not so happy. She never introduced herself. She took our order. I ordered green salad that was great. Then Flat iron steak with mushrooms for main course she never asked what sides I wanted when the plate can it had potatoes and green beans on it). I did not want to make a scene but anyway the food was excellent. Kudos to the Chef. Then came dessert it was Pistachio bread pudding, which was delicious. Other then the server being standoffish and not coming to check on us the restaurant was beautiful and the food was great."

"I am a fan of Nobu cuisine and have dined at their restaurants in other cities such as Atlanta and Atlantic City. The Washington DC location is conveniently located but lacks the atmosphere, feeling more like a converted office building. The music was too loud, but they did lower the volume upon request. Our server was excellent, but it seemed as though they were short-staffed due to the restaurant being almost fully booked on a Sunday evening."

"My wife and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. We dined at 1789 to celebrate our union several times over the years. Our experience on Jan 14 2023 was excellent. Our server, Shantey, exhibited a superb understanding about each entree and made our dinner particularly memorable. She also explained how each item was prepared in a way that was easy to understand I highly encourage feasting at 1789."

"We made a last minute reservation after a long day moving and my daughter was craving a great burger. They couldn't be more welcoming even at the late hour. Place was fairly empty but the service was excellent. Fun drinks and great wines by the glass. The seared tuna was amazing and the best Scillies potatoes I have ever had!"

"Although I would recommend my friends to visit Agora, the service last time was very low and bad. Agora is one of my fav' places in DC, I go there very often when visitors come, business meetings etc,. However, last time when I went, the service was bad. The waiter came at least 10 times in the first 20 mins since we came, he saw us talking and looking for the menu, however, he did not respect our space and privacy . He came and asked us again and again if we need to order food. While making our order, he recommend us to order at least 7-8 dishes, alleging that each person need 3-4 dishes. He did not ask how much we are hungry, which kind of dishes we like, I felt he was trying to push more and more food- which is unprofessional at all."

"I really thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant more than I expected to. The dishes (all except one can be vegan) are so impressive. The tacos are simple with only 2 or 3 ingredients and so flavorful. This is probably the first time ever I sat down for Mexican style food and didn’t ask for hot sauce because the food was that good. The quesadilla was a bit too greasy for me, but whenever I go back I’d probably just order tacos."

"Denson is definitely a spot for serious drinkers, boasting an extensive selection of spirits, as well as wine and beer options. The food menu offers upscale bar fare, prepared by chefs with formal culinary training. During my visit, my friend and I enjoyed single malt Scotches and mules, along with raw oysters for starters. He opted for a chicken and sausage "pot pie," while I tried the grilled cheese and mushroom sandwich - both dishes were delicious. Our server, Lindsey, provided excellent service, making our experience even more enjoyable. I would give the service an A grade. Reserving a booth is recommended for a two-hour window, ensuring a well-paced dining experience. Overall, Denson is a fantastic choice for a pre-game hangout, and I can't wait to return for the next game."

"Check your final bill carefully! Our itemized bill came back around They brought back a credit card receipt for us to sign that was When I pointed this out to the waiter, he went off and explained that after he brought us our itemized bill, somehow two additional glasses of wine were added to our tab. Although we appreciate the explanation, I don't think we really received an apology--there was no surprise, remorse, or anything that suggested that the restaurant wanted to make amends for the "mistake (I had supposed that the restaurant would normally lock out the tab once they print the itemized bill and bring it to the table--but that's clearly NOT the case here Otherwise, the restaurant is in a great spot, it's beautifully decorated, and the service was fine (until they brought the check). I love when Italian pasta shines and is complimented by the sauce. But here, the pasta sauces overwhelmed the pasta. It was passable--not disturbing in any way, but surely also not memorable But--really, I am still flumoxed by the bill "mishap was it an honest mistake or a scam? I wish that I had confidence that it was just a mistake. But the way that the restaurant responded didn't suggest that they cared"

"Succotash had great food. The service was nonchalant though. Our server kind of left us alone for a long time. I had to lasso another waiter to get a second beer. A minute later our server arrived and handed us the check and asked if we wanted dessert. Kind of odd. I told him we just ordered drinks and he shrugged. I had catfish which was very well prepared. My daughter had a cheeseburger which was solid but not exceptional. I am not a whiskey guy so the cocktail menu was not very appealing. The beer selection was, I thought, weak for a great beer city like DC. Overall, it was worth the price but probably not worth a return visit"

"we have half dozens of oysters, all different species (two of the western cost, and 4 of the east coast.) all were amazing. then we tried the braided short ribs, with a zeasarsalat and the mac and cheese. the zeasar was exactly that, and the braided short ribs were fantastic. very tasty and delicate the mac and the cheese are perhaps the best I ever had. beautiful cheese mix that actually has a great taste, the dish was flat with a crispy crumb above, which means that I have some crispy in every bite. everything was delicious."

"Was excited when we received two tasty appetizers (calamari and fried zucchini), but unfortunately everything went dow hill from there. Both pastas were swimming in watery sauce, suggesting that the kitchen had failed to properly drain the pasta, and had certainly not finished off the dish with both pasta and sauce in a pan to marry the two elements. The entree was equally unimpressive. Rather fatty pork again in a thin sauce and fennel drenched in hot oil. I like spicy food, but the heat masked the flavor of the fennel and really didn’t pair well either."

"Honestly this was a really disappointing visit to ambar. This was my favorite restaurant when I moved to DC in I had reservations for my birthday at We didn’t get seated until so min late. The server fairly came over to our table and we only got min of the hour open food and drinks because apparently they close at on Friday’s. We didn’t get a birthday dessert or anything to celebrate, it was clear they just wanted us out. I was really sad as this was one of my favorite restaurants in DC. I really hope they will try and make this up to me because it was a pretty terrible way to spend a birthday, the light was also way too bright inside. It felt more like a Burger King than a luxury restaurant"

"From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. 2 of our party needed to use the restroom, but 2 of us were ready to be seated. So they seated the 2 of us and when the others came from the restroom they lead them to our table. The server gave us a brief history lesson of the tavern and told us about the decor. What a nice way to start! She even recommended if we had time to give ourselves a tour of the place to see the history. We started with oysters and wings, all were excellent. Then we had a burger, trout, meatloaf, and swordfish. Only the person who had the burger said it was just ok. But come on, who orders a burger at this kind of place??? So his opinion was disregarded. The rest of us would completely recommend this place and come back!!! The noise level was such that we could have a conversation easily. Completely appreciated. The staff was attentive, but not annoying. It's been a long time since i have had such a great experience. Yes please!"
