"The food was bland and lukewarm. The restaurant wasn't at all busy. Wedding soup tasted old and barely heated. Chicken was overcooked and coated hard. French fries soggy. Breakfast meal wasn't hot and seemed like it sat for a while before served to us. Our server tried to make it better, but we didn't want to keep complaining, so we just left without eating everything. I might give it a second chance if I was in the area again."

"Dicks wings is a family favorite as that's where my husband and I first met, years ago. We stumbled upon this location while visiting a friend and had to go eat there. This location wasn't too busy but definitely appeared to be understaffed. The waitress was nice and seemed to be the only one working the whole front of the house. So, we didn't fret much when a couple of things were forgotten or slow to be refilled. The food, however, took over an hour to prepare. We anticipated being there for about an hour total with how quickly we ordered, but we ended up being there a little over 2 hours. The main issues were how many items weren't currently available or out of stock, then the length of time for our food to be prepared. We stayed, ate and paid with no complaints but definitely feel as though they need some help to bring this location up to par with what we are used to at others."

"The menu available is NOT the menu for the Dorset Cafe, it is the menu for LaPasta which is the restaurant located next door to the Dorset Cafe. I would recommend both places as they both have great food, however LaPasta is only open during the summer."

"Recommended by a friend who dined in, I got fried seafood to go; everything was good, woman who took my order was same person who waited on me when I picked it up; very attentive about putting it in the order, separating and nothing was missing or mixed up. Food was very good, extensive menu with other items I’d like to try; lobster Rangoon special were good (been checking the weekend specials to see when they have them). Locals atmosphere as noted in other reviews."

Order was wrong, and when I called to see where the rest of the food was, was told by the very rude gentlemen who answered the phone to never come back. "I have lived here in this tiny little community its a 100% , !! all American town , Courtland mn).. so after my girlfriend had moved here in 2011, right across the side street from our place was Swany 's pub/tavern. So we decided to go ahead at try out new to us, local town tavern out. I can 't say one meal is better or worse than the other, but I can say , I personally HIGHLY RECOMMEND SWANYS CHICKEN, and the Deep fried, AND OH MY GOD !!! THERE , WINE BATTERED COD , YOUVE NOT TASTED ANYTHING LIKE IT , I PROMISE, ITS A MUST CHECK OUT TAVAREN.. When passing thru Courtland, no matter the direction,? Just make sure when you come back from the other direction, you stop back in and try there garbage pizza, yummy yummy, and loaded it is...."

"I hate leaving bad reviews for popular places, but sometimes it's needed to help business owners be better. While this place seems like a local favorite, our experience was not good. First, as a food business owner myself, this place seems poorly managed. The very young bartenders are sweet but they didn't even know how some drinks are made. One of them totally went to town on the bitters in my old fashioned. I have never seen anyone do that. I don't blame them there was absolutely no management to speak of here except some woman sitting at the bar with friends they kept turning to. If she is the owner or manager she should be ashamed of herself. She kept barking orders but they obv. needed training and guidance. She was ordering drinks for her friends while the staff was at a complete loss what to do. The staff seemed overwhelmed, confused and near a breaking point. The ordering system is chaotic as well. They need at least one to two more bartenders, another hostess and an overhaul of their processes. I probably could let all that slide if the food was decent, but it really was not impressive. It was bar food quality and not supper club quality. The fried fish lacked any flavor. Moreover, who leaves tartar sauce on the table all day? It's a mayonnaise product. Will it harm us? I guess we will see. Then our bread had a slice of onion on it is this a local tradition or something? None of our party of 5 wanted to eat a slice of marble bread with a raw onion on it. For such a small dining room you would think service would be better but our server didn't greet us for 20 minutes when she brought our food out. I just didn't get why it was so packed. Maybe the bar was packed because there were too many open tables in the dining room. My son manages a bar and was appalled at their processes here. At least put some sports on the TV, food network doesnt work for most. I guess it works for them, but for visitors like me I won't repeat this poor experience. I can't recommend paying $20 to $40 a head for such an underwhelming experience. Experience is everything."

"During my visit, I had a good experience overall. However, I was surprised to find that the banana split didn't come with a banana! On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and efficient in their work. The place was clean, and even though I haven't dined there late at night, I hear that eating in the Hawks Nest is enjoyable. It's a nice spot, and I would recommend stopping by!"

"I grew up a couple of blocks from this place and have continued going there for over 30 years. I would walk down to the laundromat(which is now Big Bend Liquor), play some Mortal Kombat 2, and then pop in for a Tender, Catfish nug, or Wing Meal with double fries. I now reside in Affton. I still make the drive to this place. Maybe it's the comfort. Personally there are not many places that touch the taste of the chicken especially when it's fresh. In general a lot of their sides leave much to be desired but the chicken in the star here. Fries and Okra extra crispy. You like sweet-ish slaw, this is your place. One other thing. Their hot sauce. Get their hot sauce. Buy a bottle. It's like some stuff you'd find at the bottom of a shelf somewhere. But man oh man is it delightful. Blows Crystal's out of the water."

"It should be a negative Stars. I was able to walk into the lobby 7 at night. This is what I heard. The coworkers are asking each other why the guy is standing in the lobby. They thought the lobby was closed. One responded it is closed I don't know why that guy is standing there. This location has had the lobby closed for multiple times in the middle of the day. I understand when the doors are locked. But the doors were not locked today. Taco Bell KFC you ain't working on nothing fast food is going to hell in a handbasket I work in a pizza restaurant. I jump when the customer ask for anything. You need to do something different with your store. You know for the most part I try to give good reviews even when there are bad services. But 7 at night. I just really wanted some freaking Taco Bell tonight you know what I mean geez."
