"I grew up a couple of blocks from this place and have continued going there for over 30 years. I would walk down to the laundromat(which is now Big Bend Liquor), play some Mortal Kombat 2, and then pop in for a Tender, Catfish nug, or Wing Meal with double fries. I now reside in Affton. I still make the drive to this place. Maybe it's the comfort. Personally there are not many places that touch the taste of the chicken especially when it's fresh. In general a lot of their sides leave much to be desired but the chicken in the star here. Fries and Okra extra crispy. You like sweet-ish slaw, this is your place. One other thing. Their hot sauce. Get their hot sauce. Buy a bottle. It's like some stuff you'd find at the bottom of a shelf somewhere. But man oh man is it delightful. Blows Crystal's out of the water."

Our first time there. Nice person taking our order recommended 3 piece chicken with mashed pot. And coleslaw. It was so delicious. Chicken was moist, tasty, and crispy. Was also reasonably priced. And couldn't eat it all. View menu

Best Chicken in STL as confirmed by an entire party of ppl I brought a large amount of Porter's to. Been there a few times and there always seems to be an issue with the credit card reader. Maybe they should get a new system?

It is not a fancy place, but the chicken is delicious. When you eat it feels like your mother or grandmother made it. I don't know what sided taste like because I have never purchased. It is out of the way for me, but worth the drive.

The chicken was bland and not seasoned and the spicy was just way too spicy. The service was good. The prices is are about 1/4 more than what the pictures in reviews here show. They probably cite the inflation but the the inflation is not 25 View menu

A solid counter-service chicken joint with a homey feel and large portions and pleasant service. The chicken was moist with a crispy skin without being greasy. When I went I got my food in 2 minutes, but while I was eating (during the lunch rush) theyhad quite a few people pour in. Must have a good reputation among their clientele!

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch since we were in the neighborhood. I had the catfish nuggets with fries and hubby had 2 fried cods with fries. A little bit of a wait but well worth it. Food was piping hot and delicious. Generous portions so we hadleftovers we took with us. Call in orders are accepted if your pressed for time. Will visit again if we're in the generalarea.

"We was visiting for the crawl-o-ween event, we had been in the resturant most the night over $200 spent. But a intoxicated woman in a skeleton outfit claiming she was the owner/owners wife was at the door denying entry to one group of people. Even drug some other lady out who was trying to walk in. At first she said it was a capacity issue but when the cop showed up she said it was because they said something she didn't like. My entire party of 10 people left the resturant at this point due to her harrasing people at the door. She shouldnt have been there intoxicated to begin with. Much less employee nor owner who every she was should not be working intoxicated much less put there hands on a costumer. To your reply first it wasn't my group you did it to we were inside the bar when it happend already. The orange crawl-o-ween cup in your hand that allows you to drink (Alcohol) on the street proves you were drinking. The two guys had been managing the door all night till 11 when the crawl-o-ween event ended and you showed up at your bar. Hadn't been there all night till then. There was definitely not 2000 people at your bar not even 200 people . There was way more people in the bar while the event was happening then after the event. the bar was do full during the event that the line of people was out the door but no one was denied entree till after the even had ended and there was no line of people waiting just one group that wasn't allowed in. Also you establishment has 2 entrances people were also entering and leaving out the other side where there was no one watching it."
