"Our little happy accident turned out quite well! My husband and I initially planned to visit Serai across the street, but unfortunately, they were closed on Mondays. So, we decided to try this place instead, and we were not disappointed at all. Our meals were delicious and perfectly spiced. We started with the queso fundido, and I had the enchiladas with chorizo while my husband ordered the carne asada. The only minor critique he had was that his dish came with just a bit too much cactus. We also wished there had been more rice because it was so tasty! Even the refried beans were flavorful. Our waitress was very friendly, and our food arrived quickly. We would definitely order from here again!"

"This place is amazing! The food is very tasty. The lady at the front counter was so friendly and helpful with making decisions on food. It was funny because we were so full at the end of our meal, but then she said next time you'll have to try or Fried ice cream. My boyfriend immediately ordered one for us to share. The restaurant is adorable and clean. I would definitely recommend coming here. The only downside are the prices. It is currently labeled on Yelp as , but we paid over 60 for the two of us. as long as you know to expect the high prices, you will enjoy the experience at Taco Madre."

"I had a fantastic experience with the authentic flavors of the Mexican food here! The prices are very affordable as well. Even on a rainy night, the service was quick and friendly. I'm still impressed by how delicious the food was. This was my first visit, but I will definitely return and recommend it to others. I couldn't rate the atmosphere since I used the drive-through for my meal. For food and service, I would give a solid 5 stars!"

"We were looking for a “new to us” restaurant in our hometown and came across this place. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere very much. There are several options for appetizers and entrees. The vegan Nacho plate was our favorite dish. I also enjoyed my cal salad. Our vegetarian children enjoyed the waffles. Brunch is served all day, but the only option for vegans is Avocado Toast. There are a variety of beer on tap. Overall, it is a great place to go with not vegans as any options will have. We will return."

"With a smile. Sat outside where the area is super sweet. The restaurant has a modern atmosphere. Server was incredibly nice and very attentive without being overlaid. There were 3 of us. My mother and I have 2 Tacos (taco Tuesday) each and split an app and my son got the suizas enchiladas. Everything was great. Many interesting elements on the menu with wine unexpected aromas / pairings. The prices seem average. A slightly elevated price than your run of the mill Mexican restaurant, but not inappropriate. So in any case, put these on the rule list."

"I ordered an 8-piece lemon herb and garlic wings to-go yesterday before my second shift at P.F. Chang's. I specifically asked the lady who took my order over the phone to cook them well done. However, when I got back to work, they weren't well done; they were cooked, but not to my request. After work, I started feeling really strange throughout the night. I experienced chills, night sweats, and sharp abdominal pains that felt like I was dying. I have never had an experience like this before, and I will never eat there again."

"If you are considering where to eat today, stop right now and go to Taco Madre. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. It takes a lot to impress me dining out, but this gem of a restaurant is now my #1 for the best tacos of all time. We started ordering regular steak and pastor tacos that were excellent. Even though we were full, we went back up ordered three of their specialty tacos (Tinga, Aztec and Mayan . I don't even have the words for how great and flavorful these were. I love salsa on my tacos, but it would have been a sin to add anything to these beauties! I will never be able to visit St Charles again without visiting Taco Madre! And when they come to Genoa, I plan on becoming obese very quickly (and nothing will make me happier!"

"bad customer service,I went and asked for some tacos and they asked me with everything ?and I answered yes... since I was at the table waiting for my tacos, I noticed that another customer was served their tacos with guacamole... which I don't eat because I'm allergicI immediately went to him and told them ,my bad, I didn't know that the tacos included guacamole.. and they told me too late we already put it (at that point I was with my attitude of am sorry my bad and they say am sorry you said with everything and it already has guacamole, (at that point I wasn't upset but I wanted to see that it was their plan and they tell me the only thing we can do is clean them (I thought, what? I told you I'm allergic, how can you tell me that? that attitude It annoyed me... and with a calm attitude I told them, can't you prepare others for me? and they answered me yes but we are going to charge them and I thought in all the places I have been I have looked at many situations and whether it was the fault of the customer, the cook, etc. but always i saw at what they say don't worry right now we will prepare you to your order as you want.then I said how much is it for another order? $12and I told them ok I pay for it.. they asked me and what do I do with the other tacos? I told them throw them away(For $12, was it a reason to lose a customer? How little customer service is worth"

"I havent had any of the Mexican food here but decided to try the Cheeseburger , fries and a drink combo. Tasted good but u could tell it was a frozen patty which I honestly dont mind but u could tell they rushed cookin it cuz the patty is already so thin yet it was still pink in the middle?? Like I dont mind my patty medium cooked if it was fresh or a thick patty but its a thin frozen patty...anywho, Fries had a soggy/crisp mix which was great, Churros werent the best n tasted stale but the best thing I got that pretty much saved the meal was the Horchata!!"

"Where do I go to watch the World Cup in Wicker Park? This place!! It is one of the few bars in Wicker Park that have TVs on the walls and they are set up so there is not a bad seat in the house. I went for just one game on a Saturday and ended up staying for three. The food was surprisingly good but I should have anticipated that since they had something special going on with this various cocktails mixed with homemade fruit juices and infused liquors. I personally love how you can order individual items to mix and match. By the time the third match ended, my group had the nachos with pulled pork, apple wood smoked brisket taco, fish taco, Chicken Tamales, and various Margaritas. My Favorite is their house Margarita or the Strawberry."

"First time visiting the restaurant. My companions had been seated about 10 min prior to my arrival and had already ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took another 20 min for a mixed drink and a beer to arrive and probably another 10 for the appetizer. My friend described the mixed drink as watery. The spinach artichoke dip was average. We followed up with wings, Cajun oysters, truffle fries and a salmon entree. Everything we ordered took no less than 20 minutes to arrive at the table. Way too long for most items for a restaurant that was not busy. The oysters were overcooked and not at all juicy. The salmon was more well than my preferred medium, but the flavor was really good. The Buffalo wings were the star. Hot, crispy and great flavor. The Philly sliders were good also. The honey habanero were just sweet, no heat. They were out of mac and cheese, a prominent item on the menu, as well as asparagus, for which they subbed broccolini. When I asked if I could have the Brussels sprouts instead, I was told they would have to be ordered as a side dish. I may go back to try a burger, but no time soon. Kudos for the McBride Sisters wine offering."

"This might be the most disappointingly delicious meal I've ever had. The three tacos were perfect—I had one chorizo and two chicken—and the nachos were good as well. However, I can only give it two stars because the Seasonal Elote costs $10 for just a single cob of corn. The DoorDash menu doesn’t include any photos to indicate portion size. At other Mexican restaurants, I’ve paid a similar price for twice the amount of elote, usually served chopped in a bowl with chips. The value simply isn’t there, although it was quite tasty."

Staff is really friendly, even though she only speaks Spanish and I need to work harder on Duolingo to understand what she says but she was so kind! ?8/10. Look at the cute decorations and it’s giving very authentic Spanish and everything is very clean!"
