"This was our first visit I have enjoyed Indian food before so I'm not a total novice but navigating the menu became a bit of a challenge was hoping to stay healthy and one dish came unexpectedly with fried ingredients another came laden with carbs that I hoping to avoid suggest asking for clarification on what will be served most of the food was good portions varied appetizers were hearty lentil soup was served in very small cup we are not deterred and will try again but with guidance. Server was friendly and efficient."

"We celebrated my daughter's birthday during our second visit to Sapphire, which she chose as her preferred restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. They surprised her with a birthday dessert that she absolutely loved. My oldest daughter enjoyed the Thai Fried Rice with shrimp, while I had the Tandoori Mix Grill. The birthday girl relished her Shrimp Curry, and another guest enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala. The rice and garlic naan were delicious too. My takeout Panang Curry Chicken was excellent, featuring red curry, lime leaves, coconut milk, and peanuts, all served with crispy steamed broccoli."

"I was in an Indian movie, so I decided to have a great Indian brunch. the movie was long so I really appreciated that the restaurant was open until 15:00. it was 2:00 when I arrived, and there were still many delicious offers at the buffet. actually there were so many different types of dressed that I couldn't taste them all! what gave me a food was one of them plant chow mine! an Indian feedbuffet! as well as always, the normal standards that I love not disappointed, butter huhn, tandoori huhn, papdum, all were excellent! also loved the cheerful and carrots halwa dessert. I will return definitiw after passage to india if I happen to be in the neighbourhood. otherwise it is a destination from san jose to mountain view, about 20 mi."

"Wonderful spicy food! Two of us went for Restaurant week, both ordered medium hot entrees. Her goat curry was just the right spiciness, and she enjoyed it tremendously. My chicken dish was just bit too spicy, but on request we were given a delicious raita which helped tremendously. The samosas and pakoras were good, as was the tamarind sauce/chutney, but the coriander chutney was watery and didn't have much flavor. The chai was delicious. We had the mango pudding and rice pudding for dessert. The mango pudding was very good, not too sweet. The rice pudding was not like the kheer I expected it had cinnamon and dark raisins in it and was extremely sweet. It was quite pleasant, though. Servings were generous both my friend and I have gotten at least two additional meals from our entrees!"

"Not sure what Chicken tikka masala everyone else orders but there is no way it is a 5 star dish.Sauce is no creamy, the Chicken is just terrible. Overcooked and we even got a join in our piece. Plus all of the pieces are rubbery and hard which means the meat is just disgusting.I struggle to even give it one star, so gross and i was not wanting to pay for such terrible food.Bombay house at Jordan landing is much better and actually tastes amazing.Never and I repeat never come here. Old and ran down building and the food is so gross."

"The food at this restaurant is excellent! It's a fantastic place to dine with delicious and flavorful dishes. We ordered the Lamb Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer, both of which were very good. We will definitely return here in the future. We are fans of Indian cuisine and have found that not all restaurants offer Palak Paneer on their menu. Even when they do, it's not always up to par. However, the Palak Paneer at this restaurant exceeded our expectations and we had enough leftovers to take home. Overall, a great dining experience!"

"I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Despite it being nearly empty on a Friday night and us having made a reservation, we were thoroughly disappointed. The service was a mess – I had to ask twice for a glass of wine and had to go find the staff, who were lounging in the back, to get served. Our appetizer took 50 minutes to arrive, and it took over an hour from placing our order to being served, even though there were only three occupied tables. We had the Lamb Saag, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Dal Makhani – nothing outstanding, but not bad either. Getting the check was a challenge, and even after using the “pay online” feature, we were stopped in the parking lot by staff claiming we hadn’t paid. I showed them the e-receipt on my phone to prove we had. Overall, nothing positive about this experience. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously."

"We went because we were craving soup due to this unpredictable weather we are having in New York City. It's June and currently we are having low 50s for night time. I mean my house hearing system came on, so I decided why not go for soup and drums of heaven The restaurant is nice and service is quiet good but their Thai Tom Yum soup was quiet horrible and Drums of heaven was good but not great Last but not least I tried their Thai Ice Tea, which was pretty good"

"I ordered bhindi masala online around 7:00 PM and added a special request for mint chutney. When I picked up the order, I asked if the chutney was included, and I was told yes. However, when I got home, there was no chutney. The food was just okay, but the service was disappointing. The last time I ordered lamb biryani, it didn’t even resemble biryani – it was very poor quality. Please improve your service. If there's an extra charge for chutney, let us know in advance. We want our dinner plans to go smoothly without any issues!"

"The name being “Glory of India”? I don’t think so. More like disappointment. I hate to leave bad reviews but people need to know how awful it was. If I cooked like that I would NOT open a restaurant OMG. Where do I even begin?. So the goat curry and lamb vindaloo were soupy and watery, did not cling to the rice at all, they just drained to the bottom of the plate. The “onion salad” was a joke, basically just a red onion cut up with a couple jalapeño peppers in it and no dressing, just 2 lemon wedges. The naan was seriously lacking flavor. The portions were tiny. Almost no lamb in the lamb vindaloo. The portions of rice pudding are basically in a container u would use for dressing or a condiment tiny. They were watery and WAY too sweet! Just awful. The coconut soup was basically just coconut. I didn’t try it but needless to say most of it was left. I leave one start reviews for places I will never go to again and would never recommend and this restaurant definitely didn’t even earn the one star. I will mention one thing, my friend enjoyed the meal which I was shocked to hear, so to defend those who actually gave more than one star, I guess some people’s palates are much more forgiving. I have had Indian food plenty of times and NEVER EVER was the lamb vindaloo and goat curry watery and greasy like that. If I could sum up the entire experience in one word it would be DISAPPOINTING. And to add insult to injury, it was kind of expensive for those portion sizes!"

"Stopped in here today for a quick lunch. I give this place 4 stars for the category I feel it falls under. This is definitely a quick eats type place. Most of the food items were tasty but the cauliflower and potatoes dish tasted off and was a bit lukewarm instead of hot. Overall I believe the lunch buffet was a good value. The host and cashier were both nice. This is a little whole in the wall type restaurant for sure. The interior is nothing special but the food was"

"Horrible oily food and Rude Staff! Being an Indian I can tell you how bad the food is I could taste the substandard spices used and the old oil. The quantities are also very small of the curries. They give priorities to DoorDash and take-out orders. Food is served late and cold to on-premise customers. When we gave feedback to the staff they started arguing with us instead. Do Not Recommend this place to any one. Service: Dine in"

"Have been getting takeout since moving nearby and just went to sit in last night. Happy to find it even better in person! Everything has been excellent, okra, eggplant, classic chicken tikka masala. The naan is fresh and fabulous. My only comment is the fried appetizers are a tad salty (samosa, pakora . But the samosa chaat at the restaurant and the papadum was fabulous. (And the sauces are great too! Update : It’s been a year and we have been regularly coming, everything is amazing!! Highly recommend."

"This has to be the best place that I have had Indian food in a long time. We came for the buffet and my wife ate something from each tray and loved them all. I ate two full plates and was so stuffed by the end. Guy said lunch is buffet and dinner is menu. Was also told that the buffet does change what goes out each day. Definitely will be returning again, probably for dinner to pick out some of our favorites to try."

"Shalimar Cuisine of India deserves a solid 3.5 stars—just shy of a full 4. The Mulligatawny soup and appetizers were enjoyable, though not quite as impressive as the main courses. The highlights were definitely the mains: the Korma was exceptional, as always, and the Shalimar Chicken Choila was an unexpected delight. Unlike the typical Indian dishes served with sauce or gravy, this dish resembled a ceviche but featured cooked chicken instead of shrimp or raw fish, infused with Southeast Asian spices rather than Mexican flavors. Served slightly below room temperature, it was a unique and exciting burst of flavors for both the nose and palate. A couple of notes: Shalimar features a fine dining atmosphere with white tablecloths and quality porcelain, so don’t expect a quick meal. If you’re in a hurry, the lunch buffet might be a better option. Also, dinner for two came to around $60 before tip, but you receive nearly four-star quality food and very attentive service in return. The menu offers a wonderful variety that reflects these high standards."

"Heard about this place since many years but never got chance to visit till last Monday. It was a special day for us and family was preferring only vegetarian option for it. Starting from entry to exit, I would say each and every touch point was reflecting exceptional hospitality and awesome food. Young dude managing the tables that day for dinner buffet was very attentive to customer needs and was the first reason I would like to give 5 star review to this restaurant. Food buffet was lavish, each and every item was very tasty, literally there was so much verities of everything that it was impossible to taste everything. Frankly I never saw any Indian buffet which has more than 10 kind of sweets itself !!! We didn't check the price before as were never sure that buffet are restored, though price was comparatively higher than other restaurants but it was fair considering so much variety of food and everything made so delicious. I wish owner and his/her staff well wishes to continue this great tradition of vegetarian food :"

"We settled in and started with samosas as our appetizer. The crust of each samosa was a perfect golden brown and not overcooked, which was a promising sign. The potato filling was lightly seasoned and tasted fantastic—I would definitely order that again! For our main course, we chose Saag Paneer, Daal Makhani, and a basket of four vegetarian naans. We requested that our food be prepared medium hot. While the Daal and Saag Paneer were delicious, they could have used a bit more heat; I’ll need to ask them to spice it up a bit next time. Our bread basket included fenugreek (methi) naan, aloo paratha, hara bhara (green) naan, and pezaa naan. The first three were simply delightful—I could have been completely satisfied with just those for my meal. However, I wasn't fond of the pezaa naan, which includes cheese, onions, and dried fruits; it had an overpowering onion taste, so I won’t be ordering that again. While we were dining, two ladies at the next table noticed our order and struck up a conversation; they turned out to be regulars at this restaurant. They agreed that the food is generally served mild and could benefit from a bit of extra spice. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It’s definitely worth multiple visits and is one of the best spots to experience Indian flavors. I’m even considering catering food from here for my future parties!"
