"When it came time to order, I went for the standard large cheese pizza and also tried the Patsy Pie, which has quickly become my new favorite. I must say, the original Frederici's still holds the top spot for me, especially when it comes to the crust. Perhaps the ovens are different here, but despite using similar ingredients, this pizza is just a step down from the original. I would rate Frederici's a consistent 8.4 on the cheese pizza scale, while I’d give this cheese slice a solid 7.6—it’s still a very good slice!
Now, onto the star of the show: the Patsy Pie. This pie is absolutely incredible! It’s made with marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, and topped with basil. This dish was a huge hit; I couldn't even go back to the regular cheese once I started with the Patsy slice. Each bite was more delicious than the last. It was cooked perfectly with fantastic flavor combinations that make my mouth water just thinking about it. The ingredients were super fresh, and the mozzarella hugged the crust, creating a wonderful consistency in every bite. I also heard the vodka pie is a big hit here, so I have more to look forward to on my next visit.
If you're in the area, this place is a definite must-try—even worth a drive! The Patsy Pie has officially become my new favorite in the immediate vicinity. I was fortunate to have Matt as my server; he entertained my questions about the connections and history between this location and the original Frederici's in Freehold. He broke it all down for me and clearly loves his job. The rest of the staff was very friendly and courteous too.
I visited towards the end of the day with my wife and two kids and wasn't sure if I could keep them seated. I called ahead to place a to-go order, which turned into a “we’ll sit in and eat” order when we arrived. The staff accommodated us very quickly, and our food was served fast and warm.
It’s an awesome spot, and I’m glad I “stumbled in.” I highly recommend checking it out! Beyond the pizza, the pasta dishes looked fantastic, and the dining area was bustling with happy diners. I enjoyed my meal outside but had to walk back through the main dining area to get to my car. The delicious aroma of fresh sauce and food made me hungry again, even after devouring all that pizza just moments before.
