"It was a Sunday morning and we planned to meet some of our motorcycling friends for lunch. We originally made reservations for 12:45, but got down there earlier. They were able to seat us immediately. Fortunately, our friends got down there early enough to get a parking space because if they hadn't, parking is a mess there at the pier area. So we sat on the patio, which was nice, but kinda had an alleyway feel to it. Quite a bit of foot traffic, but not much of a view. The table they sat us at was pretty small. It had a bucket in the middle with napkins, utensils, and salt/pepper. There was no way 4 drinks, 4 large plates and everything else would fit on that small table. We had to ask for an extra chair to put the bucket and a few other things on. We ordered the Tequilla shrimp appetizer that was awesome. They also brought out chips with three different kinds of salsa that were also pretty good. I had the Tres Amigos Tacos, which were three tacos...one carne asada, one shrimp, and one lobster. Those were all very good as well. My g/f had the lobster fajitas tacos, She said her's were very tasty and she liked them. We got there early enough to beat the lunch crowd, so they were not busy. Our food came out pretty quickly and was all very hot and fresh. It may be weird, but one of the ways I generally rate service is by my drink glass. Today I had water, and I had to ask several times for a refill. I like the waiter/waitress that sees a half full glass and either refills it, or at least asks if you'd like a refill. Overall, this was a very nice lunch experience. I'd go back, but I'd like to try the Old Town San Diego location next time."

"I did not eat in about 35 years at this place and since it is only a few minutes walk away from my apartment, I thought I would try. it was a disappointing experience. the outer was updated in the last few years, but the inner is exactly the same as I remember that it was when I was 12. it's like a cave. it was extremely dark inside, though I went to lunch. there is no natural light, and the artificial light was not sufficient to me. the waiting and host staff wore all black uniforms, slacks and long sleeve buttons downs, and as a former server I felt regret for them. they looked uncomfortable and unhappy. I ordered garnelen sampi, from the lunch menu, and it came with my choice of two sides. my Caesar salad was good, with beautiful fresh greens and real parmesan flakes. when my server was sitting in front of me, I was surprised as I expected a pasta dish. what I got instead was a beautiful part of sauteed garnelen in butter sauce, accompanied by the brokkoli I chose. I said more to me than my waitress, asked me where the pasta was. she informed me that if I wanted pasta, I should have ordered the Linguine alfredo. I was not upset and disassembled it to my ignorance of the menu. the garnels were boiled properly but had little taste, but the brokkoli was surprisingly good. my server was friendly and has made a nice job. she went beyond and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied by initiating the chefs to make the court I thought I was ordered, and surprised me by eating it before me about halfway through my lunch. there is a local restaurant that has tasty garnel sampi, and I use it as a gold standard that I can compare with. the red lobsters version reminded me of a microwave-free dinner. it was bland and boring, and certainly not worth the $16.49 I paid for it. I'll never dinate there again unless the comany gets an A game as a whole. I gave him only a three-star review because of the helpful, friendly server and hostess. red lobster, this is your more vigilant call that goes out of my common!"
