"This was our second time here. The first time was a great experience, but unfortunately I left disappointed this time. The tacos were boring, expensive, with mostly lettuce and not much meat. The meat was not very flavorful either. Two tacos were almost $9.00! The Jalapa fries were good but seemed better the first time with more sauce. A lemonade was $3.50 which seemed pricey as well. Service was slow and our waitress was hard to understand. Worse for me was the price discrepancies.. the money said one thing but the recipes had a higher price. Fortunately our waitress fixed it but seemed odd that happened to begin with. I was not impressed with the Cuban sandwich either. I don’t know what happened from our first time to our second, but don’t think there will be a third ?"

"My first time at Tabu and it was amazing! The place is so cute, everything's super colorful and it's very open and light. Even just down to the detail of the sinks in the bathroom, this place is has a great vibe! The guacamole was great, if you're not a spicy fan I'd steer away because the habanero honey definitely has a kick, but the pomegranates on top is such an inspired touch. I loved the sweet with the salty and I love spicy but my friend who ordered it thought it was too hot. I had the avocado toast and subbed the plantains for a wheat sourdough. But after seeing the plantains come out, my friend had order it the regular way, I wished I'd done the plantains. It's more of a patty what I was picturing more plantain chips (I don't know if the patty contained gluten my friend whose gluten intolerant was feeling a little ill after the meal). I also had a side of potatoes which were absolutely delicious. Food 10/10. I didn't drink but my friends drinks all looked amazing. The service was a little slow, we were a larger party but the time in between taking our order and the check were really substantial. They may have wanted to give us a good amount of time but they didn't really check in much so there was just a bit of a disconnect there! Even still highly highly recommend this place!!"

"The bakery part was delicious, but the girls who are at the entrance today and the one who served me, super bad service, they should be sent to do a human relations course, tremendous bad attitude, they should be kinder because I don't go to a place to ask for free! I hope they hire better staff..."

"I don’t expect special treatment, and the world doesn’t revolve around me. The same goes for tipping. If there was a real concern about me damaging the charger, they could have offered to charge my phone behind the counter themselves. I’m not asking for entitlement, just basic hospitality—hospitality that could have helped solve a simple problem. If I hadn't managed to convince the waiter to let me charge my phone, I really wonder how this would have played out. I will not be returning here again."

"Have eaten in this place for many years and it takes me time and again to remember that I have from Colombia. The food is good, I ordered ALWAYS the bandeja Paisa (small version), this time I was decided to order something else. Ordnete the Picada [without the Morcilla (Blutwurst) and asked her to cook so that the Yuca was crispy and the Chorizo and Chicharon was also crispy. WOW it was a huge plate to share enough; asked for a box for what I was unable to finish. Danielle our waiter was amaizing; wherever we needed something that required our needs. The only thing I would change is the TV screens, if I wanted to eat in front of a TV, I would do that at home. Maybe you bring the TV screens during the World Cup and other BIG games / sports events, that would be my suggestion. Also, would like to have Uva (grape) postobon. will continue to visit this facility"

"I am unsure why this place doesn't get better reviews as my wife and I love it. Now been 4 times, all different times of day and types of cuisine and enjoyed. Currently eating their sausage with a spicy sauce and lemon (thought lemon was an interesting reco by the very friendly cashier but it worked! and it's really really good. Had a nice paella there, their calamari was of the better side of restaurant calamari and they have a cool vibe in there. If you want TVs they're there, if you want to sit by the quasi bakery you can. If you want to have a great cocktail at bar in back, do it, their mojito got me a bitttt tipsy fast but we appreciate the pour. Anyway, good people, authentic food, nice vibe inside, give my people here some credit!"

"We always love the chorrasco, the sangria, and the atmosphere here. I mentioned in the reservation comments that we were celebrating a birthday. As usual, the staff brought out a large piece of cake and sang happy birthday to us. However, I was disappointed to see on the bill that they charged $6.95 for the piece of cake and an additional $5 for the "birthday celebration." The joy of the occasion was overshadowed when I noticed the transaction fee for using a credit card. I've never encountered a restaurant that charges for singing happy birthday."

"Great spot for fine dining. Warm service. Sparkling clean- and that’s impressive considering the volume that this place does daily. Great wine menu. Very spacious and inviting. The food is amazing and features a wide variety of regional specialties. The patio is spacious. There is a large back room that’s semi private with two levels, the back room seats about 60 (40 downstairs and 14 upstairs)."

"Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"I love the ambiance inside. You would never know from the outside how welcoming and inviting the inside is...it feels like you have been transported to a mini vacay in someplace tropical and warm. The service is very good and everyone works quickly and efficiently. I had a limeade with my lunch special and it all really hit the spot. The lunch special is not on the menu...but it is good home cooked food and incredibly reasonable. The chicken soup it started with was the best thing I ate by far...next time I want an even bigger giant bowl of that please....soooooo good with the cilantro!!! The ribs and rice and beans were good but nothing to blow you away like the soup. I would like to go back and try a larger and more creative entree. Something a little more complicated and or substantial with more seasoning...if they nail that I will change my rating to 5 stars. Nice touch at the end with the mints that came with the check as well."

"Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. When my family and I arrived, it felt like they didn’t want to serve us simply because we didn’t speak Spanish. They insisted on a fixed Mother's Day menu that was more expensive than their usual offerings, charging $50 per adult and $25 per child. After we were seated, we waited for 30 minutes without anyone coming to take our order. We noticed that a Spanish couple had only waited 2-5 minutes before being attended to. Frustrated, we decided to leave. We later dined at another Dr. Colombia location in Nanuet, NY, where they didn’t try to inflate prices on Mother’s Day and offered their regular menu, which had a much broader selection. Overall, we were thoroughly dissatisfied and won’t be returning. Thanks for nothing!"

"My family eats here regularly. The food is typically well prepared and tasty, but occasionally comes out over cooked or with a different taste. I assume it is from the main chef being out for the day or something. While we know most of the wait staff by name now, a few of them are decidedly less attentive and could use some improvement in that regard. Normally, service is on point and food comes out quickly, properly prepared, and tasty. In fact, I've frequently had meals where I was paying 30 minutes after sitting down with a box of leftovers in hand. Still, the occasional consistency issues merit a loss of a star."

"I went 11/17/21 For birthday brunch ref# 132118608415 and was disappointed by new management. I ordered what I typically order “skirt steak” and they did not know what that was, they had to bring someone from kitchen to take my order. They also got my appetizer wrong when I ordered chorizo w tostones they brought chicharron. It took a long time to prepare my order when my table was one is couple of people dinning, most were at bar and they music was blasting. Again this was lunch time so this speaks volumes. So for my simple order chorizos/ tostones, 1 x piña colada, skit steak and salmon w shrimp (came w/ two pieces of shrimp) and they automatically added a very generous gratuity to the bill the total came to $105.95. The food was very bland and I had upset stomach when I got home. I will have to look for new place when in Elizabeth, NJ."

"Wow! It's been a while since I reviewed a restaurant without any drawbacks. This place truly had everything. I've visited other locations of Noches, but this one was exceptionally special. We went on a weekday afternoon, and the restaurant was large, with plenty of tables for dining. They even offer outdoor seating. The bar inside is impressive as well. The service was outstanding. Just a tip: they have some lunch specials listed at the back of the menu, which we initially missed. The first few pages feature full lunch options, and when we discovered the lunch specials, we were thrilled! At around $12 for a meal, it was an incredible deal. It included a salad, sweet banana fritters, rice and beans, along with a choice of a main dish like chicken or fish. Overall, I loved this restaurant. Five stars!"

"I visited around 2:30 PM and inquired if the buffet would have fresh food. I was assured it would. However, once I sat down, I noticed the food was cold. I informed the waiter, who was chatting with the only other occupied table in the restaurant. He checked the buffet and told me, "No ma'am, it's hot." I went back to verify for myself, only to find the rice hard, the fish lukewarm, and the chicken cold and tough. I only managed to eat one plate. I also tried a small portion of another dish, but it was extremely lukewarm to cold as well. I brought this to the waiter’s attention, and also asked to speak with a manager to express my dissatisfaction and concern. Unfortunately, no one has returned my call. For a $14 meal and a $4 tip for poor service, I learned a valuable lesson: I won't be coming back."
