"We started with sushi appetizers, enjoyed a cocktail, and ordered hibachi entrées. When we requested water, we were offered a choice between tap and bottled options. While kosher dining can be quite pricey, this is to be expected, and the prices here are comparable to other kosher hibachi restaurants. Plus, you find the same or higher prices for kosher steak elsewhere. It was also nice to see the Mashgichim placing the meat directly on the hibachi grills. Typically, you don’t see the Mashgichim in restaurants, so it was reassuring to know they are actively involved in ensuring the proper handling of your meal. Given that hibachi is so entertaining for children, I hope they consider adding a children's menu. We had to order an adult meal for my child, but the leftovers will definitely be enjoyed tomorrow! Having moved to New Jersey from New York about two years ago, we have pretty high standards when it comes to dining, and I can confidently say that Takara did not disappoint!"

"I dined at this establishment on Saturday April 27,2024 for dinner.The staff was terrible and the food was worse than that.To start, the silverware was smeared with stains from the previous user.The host twisted our arms into eating in the dining room because it was a 25 minute wait. Had I known that the noodles and rice were cooked hours before I would never have done it.I guess it was near the end of the night at they knew they needed to get rid of excess food and charge patrons so that they do not have a loss.I ordered filet and scallops as my protein this, was also terribly over cooked.The server finally saw that I was trying to get her attention. She got the manager. When I asked that the meal be removed from my bill and I showed him why.The flat scallops and curled shrimp were clearly overcooked however the manager looked at it as nothing was wrong. He said he would take it off of my bill but he was going to charge me for the salad that I ate.Then they never came back with my bill. We sat and waited and waited. We had a party of 7 so tip was automatically included.The fact that management had no problem with any of this is just unacceptable.MY MONEY IS BETTER SPENT WHERE MANAGEMENT IS ACCOUNTABLE AND ATTEMPTS TO FIX A WRONG KABUCKU IN CHERRY HILL NJ IS NOT THAT PLACE.Do yourself a favor and don’t take risk it. "The taste of the food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I guess pasta, sauce and sausage are homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly with ice in the shape of a juice glass. When the waitress noticed that I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another one, but without ice. What I got was an 8 ounce glass of milk with a dash of Kahlua in it. No way to impress. I just wanted a good drink."

"This was only my second visit, and unfortunately, it was just as disappointing as the first. They forgot part of my order, and I had to ask twice for my child's meal. It took two waiters and twenty minutes for my own dish to arrive. I wanted to order dessert, but we were never approached about it, and by that point, I was ready to leave. "The owner of the restaurant frequently prepares the sushi himself. It's one of the finest local sushi spots around. While it isn't an extravagant establishment, the freshness of the sushi, attentive service, and reasonable prices make it an excellent dining option. I wouldn't suggest that someone travel out of their way to visit, but if you're a local craving sushi, this place is definitely worth it."

"I visited this restaurant in between my classes and instantly fell in love. The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. There was plenty of space to dine with friends or alone while still practicing social distancing. They offer a wide variety of dishes that are all quite tasty. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of a slight misunderstanding with the lunchtime menu. I arrived at 3:10, just before the supposed end of lunch at 3:30, only to find out that they considered lunch ending at 3. I ordered a Bento box assuming it was part of the lunch menu and was charged for the more expensive evening Bento box. Despite showing them their website that stated lunch lasted until 3:30, they explained that it was a mistake on the company's website and couldn't adjust the price. Although it was only a small difference in cost, it was disappointing. However, the hostess was kind and apologetic, and even called the company to correct the error and clarify the lunchtime menu for me. Overall, the food was great and I would return, but I advise double-checking meal times and prices with the staff before ordering."

"**Cons:** - Unfortunately, the value for the price paid was lacking. - The California roll had an overwhelming amount of avocado, and I've definitely tasted better rolls at more budget-friendly places. - The chicken katsu (as shown in the photo) was so thin that it left me questioning the portion of meat served. - Although I expected the mochi to be store-bought, charging nearly $5 for just two pieces felt quite steep. "Traveling from out of town with my band, and I suggested benihana as a fun first night of tour and so very glad we came here and had quite a night! Unassuming facade, but I liked the vibe very much indoors. I could tell as it was a Wednesday night, probably not the busiest, but we had great service, our food was amazing, and let's be real, the benihana was SO FUN! The sake was great and it paired quite well with a spicy tuna roll i started with. I do like that benihana meal gets you soup and salad, nice way to stave off the hunger for the show. Our chef was funny, played with us a bunch, made a ton of great jokes, and the food and drinks just kept flowing! I definitely over ate my scallops and steak, but both were cooke excellently and I LOVED the noodles that came with. This was a nice gem and a super fun experience. Word to the wise, the scorpion bowl is awesome, but it does sneak up on you really quickly if you're not careful haha!"

"On Tues for lunch. We ordered Hibachi Steak/Scallop Combo, a Steak Hibachi and a sushi roll (which was hot) Scallops were cut very thin and got only 2 small pieces. Steak was like rubber and full of grass, (only a few pieces) rice was bland, and sauces all watered. We were charged for 2 sushi roles and only recognized it home. Asked for extra ginger and not get, and asked to make sushi with brown rice and was not. Came to $54. Not worth the price and carrots were bad in Veggies, Scallops tasted fishy. Not fresh. Now nervous and hope we don't get food born disease. If the meat at Taco Bell had trusted more than that joint. Will NIE go back there."

"Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish, or maybe the hibachi is the better option... Nonetheless, I opted for a simple tuna and avocado roll, which was enjoyable—no complaints there. I also tried the tofu teriyaki. The dish arrived literally just a minute after I placed my order. While some might see this as a positive, to me, it seemed like they had rushed the cooking process. I know how tofu should taste, and the texture of this tofu was off—really watery and slimy. Properly prepared tofu should have the moisture drained out before cooking, and that takes time. It felt as though they just took it straight from the package, tossed it into the stir-fry, and drenched it in teriyaki sauce. I mentioned to the waitress that I wasn't happy with it and that I would prefer a crispier texture. The manager came over and suggested I order it with sauce on the side next time. They could have easily made an adjustment there and left me satisfied. Overall, I was mostly disappointed by the lack of care in preparation and the level of service."

"The hibachi meal took another thirty minutes to be served, and we didn't receive the soup, salad, or ice cream that were supposed to come with our meals. Although the grill cook put on a fun performance, he didn’t distribute the food evenly among us. After we politely shared our frustrations with the manager about the poor service, they did offer a small discount but refused to split the bill for our group of thirteen, even just in half. Overall, I wouldn't return to this restaurant. I suggest saving your time and money and choosing a different place to dine."
