"Having landed in Pueblo on another travel assignment, I started yelping mexican food. The pictures posted showed exactly what I was looking for. Having been born in East Los Angeles and always having those Mexican flavors at my disposal, I grew up spoiled! The appealing things about this place are that they ate open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a drive thru window which is great if your busy on the run. The menu has a wide selection of tasty options. I went straight for a campechana chilled seafood cocktail . Super yummy with shrimp, octopus, clams and oysters. The cocktail was mildly spicy with finely diced tomato, cucumber and onions. I was given a choice of crackers or tortilla chips on the side. I had the chips. Next I ordered 6 taquitos with quacamole and cheese with red sauce on the side. Ah this took me back to childhood. I live in Joplin, Missouri and to say there is not much variety for really good Mexican food is an understatement. So , I savor these flavors and relish in the authenticity of great Mexican food when I find it in my travels. This looks like it will be my regular spot whilst here in Pueblo the next 12 weeks and cant wait to try other items on the menu. The service was good and the food came out in a timely manner worth mentioning . I cam in again through the drive thru and ordered another cocktail with shrimp and octopus. I also ordered the Chicano burrito! That was delicious! So far so good..."

"Without a doubt, this is the best taco shop I’ve visited in San Diego. I don’t even live nearby, yet I make it a point to stop by every time I'm in the area. The owner, Maurice, is a true gem, and the customer service from the entire staff is outstanding—unmatched in any taco shop I've been to. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the exceptional quality of the food. I highly recommend the shrimp tacos; I’ve tried to explore other options, but I always come back to them because they’re just that delicious! Plus, this is one of the few places that provides a basket of chips with dine-in orders, which pairs perfectly with their fresh and tasty salsa bar. I even brought my boss here, and now we visit regularly for lunch, introducing numerous others who all share the same opinion: it’s the best!"

"I visited this restaurant and ordered a taco salad and a chimichanga, both of which were fresh and delicious. The taco shell for the salad was particularly fantastic. I opted for the chimichanga to be fried instead of soft, and I must say, it tasted so much better that way. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself has a charming atmosphere, complete with a bar. The chef even came out to serve us our food and expressed his hope that we would enjoy it—which we certainly did! They also had a special on $5 margaritas. I will definitely be coming back!"

"Extremely Disappointing Catering ExperienceI 've been a loyal customer of this place for over 8 years, primarily for their delicious street tacos. So, when my husband and I decided to use their catering service for our baby shower, we were genuinely excited. We live just 5 minutes away, and the idea of having their taco tent at our event seemed like so much fun a way to show our appreciation to our guests.However, our excitement turned into absolute disappointment and devastation. Despite confirming the catering arrangements both in person and via text messages, they failed to show up at our baby shower. To make matters worse, I was 8 months pregnant, and we had relied entirely on them for the food, leaving us with nothing prepared.What was even more disheartening was their complete lack of responsibility. When we reached out to them for a solution or any form of resolution, they offered nothing. The person we spoke to suggested we leave our own baby shower to pick up tacos as takeout! It took them 30 minutes to even propose this, with no offer of an extra discount, delivery, or any effort to make amends.The situation was incredibly embarrassing, especially because we had stated on the invitations that the event would feature El Puerto Taco Tent: Unlimited Tacos Come Hungry. This experience has left a sour taste, and we have decided never to rely on them for catering services again. Furthermore, my husband, who often uses their services for work events, has also decided to take his business elsewhere.I genuinely regret having to leave such a negative review for a small business, but the complete lack of effort to rectify the situation left me with no choice. I hope this review serves as a warning to others. No one should have to go through such an unfortunate experience, and I hope the business takes this as an opportunity to improve their customer service.After taking an hour and a half away from my baby shower to make other arrangements LOURDES off Carlsbad village drive pulled through and was able to make excellent food for everyone within an hour. I will be forever grateful!!"

"I had the unfortunate experience of trying the taquitos from this restaurant, and they were by far the worst I’ve ever tasted. They were extremely dry, and the meat had a distinctly old and unpleasant flavor. After just a couple of bites, I became concerned about the possibility of food poisoning. The "guacamole" sauce also tasted outdated and rancid. Additionally, the bottoms of the taquitos were soaked, suggesting they had been sitting out for quite some time. To make matters worse, there were no napkins or salsa included with my order. The food quality was very disappointing, and I believe they should be embarrassed to serve such dishes. I will definitely not be ordering from Castanedas again."

"If you want authentic Mexican food with authentic ingredients, you need to eat where Mexicans eat.... You have to try Tony's fresh Mexican food. The season is perfect! Your drinks are super refreshing and not too sweet as other places. You can try the ingredients: water sugar and leaves no preservatives. The shrimp, so Jumbo, freshly cook before you everything is perfectly seasoned and so is the meat, perfectly cook, the meat juicy and delicate make them all a fiesta in your mouth. "2024 review: The top 3 recommendations: 1) Shrimp tacos I love them. Haven't had such good tacos anywhere. 2) Tomatillo sauce 3) Quesadilla fajita Their tomatillo sauce is (too spicy and hot, not for everyone. It's probably 4 5 times spicy than hot salsa). It goes with everything momos/dumplings, spring rolls, etc. 2021 review: I ordered through Grubhub and absolutely loved it. The best items were Pollo Poblano and Chicken Quesadilla Fajita. The problem I usually face with Mexican food is uncooked tortillas. Not at this place!!! The tortillas were perfectly cooked and soft and the fillings were perfect (cheese, chicken, peppers, etc). Both their items had taste and flavor!! I will definitely try their other items."

"The food was decent—hearty but surprisingly lacking in flavor for Mexican cuisine. We ordered tacos that had more toppings on the shell than actual filling inside. The carne asada tacos were pretty good but had tasteless meat, and the rolled tacos didn’t stand out either. As for the carne asada fries, which seem to be a crowd favorite, they came with undercooked fries piled high with meat, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese; unfortunately, it quickly turned into a mushy mess. Overall, it was an overpriced and average lunch. While it's convenient since the nearest good Mexican restaurant is quite a distance away on Kendall, we probably won’t be returning regularly."

"We visited El Campesino on August 5, 2024. Overall, I’d have to say Taco Bell is better, and I’m not a fan of Taco Bell. I ordered the Chicken Mole Enchiladas ($17.75), while my wife got the Fish Tacos ($17.75). The highlight of the meal was the chips and salsa. Unfortunately, the mole was bland, and the chicken was either under-seasoned or lacked seasoning altogether. The Fish Tacos contained very small pieces of fried fish that were also lacking in flavor. It was clear that the meals weren’t prepared fresh, as they arrived within five minutes of placing our order. The restaurant wasn’t busy at the time, but this felt more like fast food trying to pass itself off as a higher-quality dining experience, especially given the prices. Overall, the quality was poor and definitely overpriced!"

"First thing I walk I'm with family of 4 and get 2 bowls of salsa n chips so 2 ppl have to share the bowl like dogs they didn't offer for each of us to have our own bowl just 2 so it's like if your trying to scale back and save money this is a very cheap way of doing that . So because that and the rude service I will never visit this location again I will patronize other el nopal locations where they will bring you 2 things of salsa and as many bowls as their are ppl . "I’ll be contacting Corporate on Monday morning about the terrible altitude from the Female Cashier Employee in the drive thru. that refused to tell me what type or what the name of the fish in burrito was on menu. Detail of incident on other review site. Won’t be going their anymore. UPDATE ON CALL TO CORPORATE HQ. I finally had some real good dialogue with Mr. Alvaro Uriel Davila about the personnel working at the Cypress, Ca location. The call was lengthy and positive and he agreed that CUSTOMER SERVICE is the most important ingredient in the business. My comments will be shared in depth with his counterpart that manages the other locations so that the customers can come in to any location and be greeted , be knowledgeable about the products and treated with respect."
