"The white cheddar cracker mac and cheese was also delicious; I loved the slight crunch from the crackers added right at the end, which kept it from becoming soggy. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit later in the evening, so they had run out of brisket (if that’s a must-try for you, be sure to arrive early). Instead, we chose the burnt ends, which were fantastic, smoked with post oak.
I appreciated the selection of sauces provided at our table: My Sweet Bestie sweet heat smoky BBQ sauce, HotTangy medium spicy vinegar wash, Mustarolina tangy scratch-made mustard BBQ sauce, and I Can't Even De Arbol Chile apricot sauce. I slathered each one on a rib or two, and they were all delicious. I half-expected the ribs to be dried out since we arrived late, but they were still wonderfully tender and juicy.
Kudos to Salt & Smoke for taking such great care of us and setting a fantastic tone for the rest of our stay in St. Louis. Don’t be misled by the fact that they have multiple locations; the food remains top quality. I highly recommend it if you’re unsure where to eat and in the mood for BBQ.
