"We arrived a few minutes early for a booking and were seated immediately. The ambiance was nice good decor, a buzz of conversation and friendly waiter. As the restaurant filled up it got the buzz got a bit louder kitchen sounds, chairs scraping, voices raised as the volume increased, piped music, and tv sound, all added to a bit of a din, reflected back at us by the tiled walls and hard surfaces. By the time we finished our meal I would say the sound level was irritatingly noisy. The food and drink were good, but we were a bit disappointed with the calamari with spicy garnish (we order two plates because we love calamari) which was almost all fried batter and very little squid. Might be personal preference, but I'd like to have had a thinner batter and been able to taste succulent fresh squid. As and afterthought because we had time and were still a little bit hungry, we order another plate of sushi rolls. We waited over minutes for it and eventually asked for the bill. Tanner, our very pleasant waiter, brought the bill and the sushi (which we weren't charged for) at the same time. I would say we had a pleasant time and a good meal. raw oysters were nice, fried garlic shrimp very good, tasty sushi, good house wine about the right level of value for money at happy hour prices. I'd like to try again with EMC and hope for a dining experience without the few downside points of this past visit"
