"My friends and I love Holy Basil Pho. Every time that we've been the place has been increasingly crowded, but nonetheless I wouldn't be surprised if a reservation is unnecessary. The food is delicious, our favorites include the basil lime wings and the garlic noodles with five spice pork. The portions are huge and you can easily split the dishes between 2 or 3 people. The servers/hosts are always courteous, although if it is a busy night you might have to flag down your waiter to get the bill. Regardless, due to the service, ambiance, food quality and portion sizes we have always ended up staying longer than we intended. With a doubt, Holy Basil Pho is our new favorite restaurant in the bay area, and it's a shame that on some nights it's practically empty."

"Normally, the service is quite excellent, but there must’ve been people out that night because it was very slow and we kept having different people come to our table to take care of us which can be a little confusing. But our orders came out correct and the food is outstanding as always."

"Disappointing. Been to their sister restaurant downtown but first time to this location. Waitress was no where to be seen. Appeared to only have tables with a forth table of people lingering long after paying their bill. We could see her chatting behind the computer by the kitchen. Food was ok. Two of our five items were good. The others were MEH! When booking our reservation I noted this was our anniversary and was disappointed we were placed between one large group with small children and one large party yet to arrive. I would not go back but will return to the downtown location. Considering our bill was for two people it was an underwhelming experience"

"this place was very nice and clean the atmosphere had played 80s 90s music, which was excellent, I ordered the edamame, roasted vegetables and sweet chow fun the menu was in the Asian American flair, so they can order asian food and burgers. eating was fresh and tasty the only thing I would change is that they need to hire more people, it was too busy and they had only two girls waitress. but they were both great and they deserve an increase because they really coughed and did it the best work they could and still give great customer service even if they were busy. my waitress was becky thanks for offering us such a great service. five stars have to go, my date had the steak cabins and said they were phenomenal and their tellers were right."

"We live in Chapel Hill, and various members of our family have been dining at the Carolina Inn since the late 1950s. It has often been the place for special outings for us. But we recently returned for the first time in several years for what we hoped would be an elegant and satisfying dinner with visiting out-of-town guests and were deeply disappointed.Service was slow and felt rote and unenthusiastic. Drinks were fine, but all of the food was really minimal for what we paid. There was *nothing* about any of it that we could not easily recreate at home for far less , and the entrees deserve special mention for how small and unimaginative they were. FIFTY DOLLARS for an overcooked end piece of salmon and a quarter-cup of what seemed like canned white beans? The entire meal cost nearly 350 for four people and would have been too expensive at 100.We didn't raise a fuss at the time as we did not want to make a scene in front of our guests, but when we complained to the manager the next day, our message was met with skepticism. That said, the manager DID agree to refund the dinner, so we are pleased with the customer service in the end. Still, this seems like a sad state for a venerable Chapel Hill institution."

"Tried this restaurant about 5 years ago and it was terrible, the chicken was rubbery, there was just nothing about anything we had that was better than mediocre. Although the dessert we had was good. We decided to give it another try after someone was raving about the short ribs. We had to get a reservation months in advance. I was expecting the food to be much better since it 's always so busy. I 'll start with the positives, service was good, food came out fairly quickly, they serve pretty good bread with both butter and olive oil dip, and all of that was really good. The french fries are fresh cut and those were also good, although the garlic and gorgonzola dipping sauces were quite bland. The key lime pie was fantastic although it was a pretty small piece for $12, extremely overpriced! Everything on the menu is overpriced. They had a sweet potato maple bourbon bisque that was really great, creamy texture and great flavor. My friend got the pork belly but was unimpressed. I was so excited for the short ribs, the waiter said they had been braised all day and that it 's a customer favorite. It was so disappointing, I went to cut into it with my fork expecting it to be tender and fall apart and it was so tough I had to use a knife to cut it, it was not tender. Flavor was mediocre. But the texture was extremely disappointing. The mashed potatoes were decent, nothing to write home about...as was the asparagus. Will definitely not be back, way overpriced for disappointing quality. If you want delicious, fork tender, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, short rib... go to vault@237. response to owner* actually the waiter said maybe it was a bad cut or fatty that WASNT the issue. they were not cooked properly to be tender. why would i wait around for you to cook them for another 30 minutes til they were as tender they shouldve been in the 1st place?! as for bringing in water bottles we arent interested in drinking chemical tap water...i review restaurants regularly and you are the only person that has ever said a word about it...so no, most restaurants do not have that policy. you say you allowed us, as if you think you have the right to control if people drink their own filtered water. thats absurd!"

"My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate his birthday. We were greeted right away upon entering and seated within a minute. Our server, Angela, was outstanding and recommended dishes while explaining the menu items. We tried the escargot, mussels, and a dish similar to a chicken pot pie - all of which were delicious! We will definitely be returning again."

"Had an amazing time celebrating my son at The Firehouse it had been 10 years since we had been there for his 10th birthday, and just like 2014 they did not disappoint. The food, staff and ambiance was outstanding. I even got a tour of the wine cellar. If you are lucky enough to have Kordt as your server then you are in for a treat his kindness and knowledge of food and wine were more than I expected!"

"Unfortunately we went there to have an assortment of different items to see how the food was. Order some sushi… no sushi available that night. Hot pot was good but by the time you add the items you want to include, it was very expensive. The other items we tried were ok. Nothing special. Our server was excellent though. We got there on a Friday night at 7:15 and only one table was occupied."

"Hearing a lot about District Kitchen, thought we’d try it. Typical modern decor for a fusion restaurant with very loud “club-like music.” Music was good but much too loud for dining. You literally have to scream your order and talk to each other at the table. Lighting was bad, had to use the flashlight on our mobile phones to see and read the menus and to go through 3 different separate menus. The service was lacking considering the restaurant wasn’t full. Most of the help was hanging around the entry way chatting. Ordered drinks and received 2 out of the 3 drinks after waiting more than 15 minutes. Then had to ask for the third drink (soda) after 25 minutes then received 2 separate glasses of soda in 2 different sizes. When we told the waitress who brought the 2nd glass that we got it, she had a disgusted attitude. The gimmick for this Asian fusion establishment was the XXLarge soup dumpling. That’s just it. A gimmick. Dumpling itself was tough to eat, thick, tough and doughy. Soup inside was salty and scarce in the stuffing of pork and shrimp. Tried it and a disappointment for $12 a pop. Then there’s the crispy sea bass. We ordered the sea bass with black bean sauce. The sea bass itself was small, not enough black bean sauce and not worth the $38 price tag. The salt and pepper calamari was bland. However, the sizzling beef in black pepper sauce with homemade noodles, braised pork belly and beef skewers appetizer were excellent. Then we asked for the dessert menu. Decent dessert menu but then what we wanted, they did not have which was 2 out of the 5 dessert items offered that the waitress failed to mention when she gave us the menu. Settled for the slice of chocolate fudge cake which was partly frozen and a little dry. Not returning to this restaurant!"

"I was really disappointed with this restaurant. It’s featured in numerous reviews about Savannah, but after dining there, I struggle to understand why. The soup dumplings were either not fresh or undercooked—the tops were gummy and somewhat tough, which is something I’ve never encountered in all the soup dumplings I’ve had before. It felt outrageous to pay $18 for General Tso's chicken only to receive a dish of the same quality you’d find at a corner Chinese restaurant for half the price. I truly don’t understand why so many people have enjoyed this place in the past; perhaps it’s the atmosphere, which was charming but already showing signs of wear."

"I noticed from an earlier review that my last visit here was in 2019. The restaurant is still somewhat hard to locate; the entrance is on the side of the building, behind the pawn shop. I ordered the fish, and when the waitress mentioned "crispy fish," I agreed, but then had trouble finding the description on the menu—it wasn't listed. My wife ordered lamb with bean sauce but ended up getting lamb with ginger instead. Both dishes were EXCELLENT! We tried to return the next night, only to find out they’re closed on Tuesdays. If you have a specific dish in mind, good luck, but the food is definitely worth the unexpected surprises!"

"sky waikiki bar the picturesque dach of the oyster bar, nightclub, lounge/bar and restaurant is located on the 19th floor of the waikiki business plaza building in the center of waikiki. the booking must be made several days ahead as it is really popular. they have served a happy hour of 4-5pm, but we couldn't be available so we dined at 6:30 to enjoy both the sunset and night panorama view on waikiki and diamond head. on Friday they also have a dance and party night. Live music was great, like the personal, drinks and meals. there are comfortable lounges around the glass circumference and in the middle of the floor."

"Elixir is a fantastic option for dining. The food is outstanding, and the manager and waitstaff are both friendly and accommodating. I've visited Elixir several times, and my only issue this visit was that the service started off a bit slow; it took quite a while to receive our water, wine, and appetizers, especially since the restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived. However, once we got past the initial delays, everything else went smoothly."

"I had family visiting from Hawaii and California, so we decided to take them to Jack’s for brunch. Overall, the service and meal were quite good. Our waitress was very friendly, and I have to say, J's Bloody Mary was incredible! The eggs Benedict were delicious, although I would have liked a bit more hollandaise sauce on my plate. Everyone enjoyed their food overall. My uncle's sunny side up eggs appeared a bit crispy around the edges. He didn’t mind, but I thought the grill might have been too hot. I also noticed that my wife's omelette had a slightly browned appearance. She didn't mind it, but I would have considered sending it back if I had ordered it. All in all, we had a great experience, and I would definitely recommend Jack's to friends and family. I will certainly be returning!"

"Overall, the staff was friendly and pleasant, except for one person: the hostess. She didn't seem very welcoming, which was disappointing since she’s the first point of contact for customers. If I hadn't been so hungry and eager to give the restaurant another chance, I might have chosen to leave. I returned this week after a year away, and while I’m not sure if it was due to the bartender being on the phone, he came off as quite rude and hurried me along. When I asked for recommendations, he seemed annoyed and provided a rather unenthusiastic response. To make matters worse, he handed me my check before I had even finished my meal. Plus, I ordered a medium-well burger, but it arrived quite undercooked, which I only discovered after getting home. I think I’ve had enough of this place."

"First of all, how is it possible that the chef would run out of a Morimoto signature dish! We sat down at our 6:30pm rez ordered the Gyoza app, was delish. Ordered chili chicken and crispy rice, waiter was very pleasant, always smiling and willing to listen. He takes our order and comes back to our table and says no sticky rice I 'm sorry. What a disaster! Would the iron chef let such a thing happen, I was shocked. The waiter substituted a recommended basil fried rice option that I found boring not attractive and very bland. The chicken was moist tasted ok but I 've had much better in Vallejo at 3 Star for half the fare. If it was not for the kindness of the waite staff, this review would warrant one star for location. Still don 't understand the memorialized columns out front, chef has made a name for himself, he should think about keeping it."

"Thai spot in Santa Monica with familiar plates. Came here on a Monday evening for dinner with a friend around 6:30pm and there were a surprising amount of people there, but we got a table immediately. Indoor dining only (no outdoor seating). Takeout available. Credit cards accepted. For our appetizer, we an order of the small Thai egg rolls. These were vegetarian and came in six for the small order. They were nice and crunchy but I would order a different appetizer. For the entrees, we ordered a side of sticky rice, pad Thai, and green curry. The pad Thai was tasty and there was a generous amount. There was a small amount of beef in the green curry but I did enjoy the sauce. There’s plenty of vegetarian options and they do have some vegan options as well. Overall a great casual neighborhood spot."
