"Waitress was great. Good with the kids. We had a long day at the hospital, and kids were cranky. She was nice, patient, and attentive. Unfortunately, the home fries were at least 2-3 hours old. Country fried steak was kind of gross with barely any sausage gravy. Biscuits had a weird taste and were disappointing. Bacon was crunchy but greasy because it had been kept on the side of the grill, I assume instead of made to order. Kids had chocolate chip pancakes but would not eat them they said they were gross. Later, on the way home, kids complained their stomachs hurt. The only thing that was good was the eggs. They were perfect. Inside, it's a nice place with a comfortable setting but waited about 20 minutes. However, it was right around lunch, so that's understandable. Plus, they had the coasters you hold and vibrate when the table is ready, which was nice because we could wait in the car. In the end, I spent $76 with tip on food we barely ate so maybe if kitchen staff put out better food I would go back but not likely. I would not recommend this place."

"I visited Big Fatty's while camping nearby and had a great experience despite the rainy night. We arrived just in time for a table, as it quickly got crowded, and there was live music playing. As a visitor from Maine, I was thrilled to find Hill Farmstead and other Vermont beers on tap. We ordered wings and a brisket meal; the wings were definitely the highlight, surpassing the brisket, which was just average. Overall, the beer was probably the best thing we had there."

"Yum! I had the tropical roll, the sweet potato roll and a salmon roll with mango. While it took a wee bit longer than I expected, it was very fast considering there were other orders before me. (I forgot they were doing other orders which is why it was longer than expected. I mention this because when you walk in, it's quiet and most orders appear to be to go orders. So, just be patient. They are very fast considering. The rolls were delicious! I loved each bite and I am so glad I came, sat down and ate here. This little mom-and-pop place is perfect. My rolls were simple, but the rolls coming out for others, the more extravagant rolls, they were gorgeous and HUGE. Beautiful in fact. I also ordered miso soup and pajun. Delicious, perfect amount and I left comfortably full. How things work. You come in, order and pay, and then you sit to eat or grab it to go. The staff are friendly and efficient. Oh and don't forget your drinks in the fridge. They have same drinks I would get out of the vending machines in Japan. It was nice to remember. Overall, I am very happy I found this little place. Next time I make the 3.5h round trip drive out, I am definitely stopping in again! Thank you so much for your hospitality and delicious food! Parking: You can pay known the street or in front of the restaurant in a little shared parking lot. All free. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly for sure! Kids can do the ordering and will be treated as if they are the adult while ordering, with respect. It is a great place for them to practice social etiquette. Wheelchair accessibility: If you are on a walker, crutches or wheelchair, you will be happy to know the inside has wide walkways. The door is a little heavy it managing on your own, but definitely doable with or without someone. (Easier with, obviously."

"Loved this little spot- the menu rotates weekly from what I understand. The artichoke fritters and garlic fries were phenomenal. I got the steak which was cooked to medium rare just as I wanted, with a gravy sauce and roasted vegetables. It was delicious. The mushroom edamame dish, however, was a disappointing considering it was $21. It was definitely good, but felt like more of a side dish than entree. Drinks were delicious- we got the cucumber grapefruit spritzer and key lime martini (I believe it was a martini- definitely was key lime) Service was quite busy and a little slow which we did not mind. The waitress was transparent about things being a little behind kept apologizing which was appreciated. Definitely a must eat if you’re in town! Only reason I took off the one star was the veggie dish. Maybe stick with the meat and pasta!!"

"We had a really good time at Elixir restaurant in WRJ VT tonight. The menu had several starter options and two pages of dinner entree options. I had a difficult time deciding what to order because everything sounded yummy. Our waiter was very informative and super friendly. He was able to share some great details about individual menu options such as how something is made, the flavor profile, the quality , etc.. He asked questions about our preferences and was very attentive. He made us feel like our experience and satisfaction mattered. The food was so delicious! We started with the coconut curry mussels. They were cooked perfectly and the coconut curry broth was well balanced and loaded with flavor. The mussels were served with a nice local bread that held up well for soaking up the broth. I ordered the Island Farro Salmon and my date ordered the Shrimp Scampi. Both dishes were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I was also surprised how quickly our food was served. The portions were perfect size too not too little nor too much food. We both finished our plates and were satisfied but decided to split a dessert because they have bananas foster bread pudding with a rum caramel sauce. It was served with their own homemade vanilla ice cream. Sooo yummy!! A must try! We were also impressed at the waiter wiping the crumbs off our table after our dinner and before dessert. The atmosphere is relaxed."
