"Grimaldis Pizzeria is located in First Colony, right in front of First Colony Mall. You have two more locations in the Houston area; one in the Woodlands and the other in Katy. This fast-growing Brooklyn-based pizzeria also serves brick-ove lime zones to satisfied customers in a dozen states nationwide. It is no wonder that Grimaldis Pizzeria is popular here both in Houston and throughout the country. With over 100 years of experience in making special pizzas in coal stove, Grimaldis Pizzas are distinctive, authentic and simply good! I soon wanted to find out how true this statement is! When you go to Grimaldis Pizzeria, it is like being transported back to classic New York City. The red brick walls and red-white boxed cloths set the stage for the trip we just wanted to board. The local subway system signs are a great note that you are still in Sugar Land. The brick pizza oven sits in the middle of the restaurant like a shrine. If the aroma from the oven hits you like a ton of bricks (pun intended) it is too late... They're too deep. When we stopped on a beautiful Saturday afternoon of Grimaldi, it was easy to see that we were not the only ones who had discovered this wonderful Italian pizzeria. Each table was full of happy people who enjoy the day with friends and loved ones. We ordered a few peronis that is a certain must if you enjoy great pizza. For our appetizers we decided to try the antipasto that has proved to be a great choice. As you can see in photography, this beautifully presented plate was an arrangement of fresh mozzarella, roasted sweet red paprika, genoa salami, olives and freshly baked bread. I definitely suggest the antipasto for beginners. You know how I feel about my salads! Grimaldi's House Salad was suggested by our server, so we went with it. This tasty combination of romaine salad, red onion, cherry tomatoes, roasted sweet red peppers, mushrooms, Sicilian green olives, and savory vinaigrette was wonderfully fresh, crunchy and full of taste. The cherry tomatoes were like small juice bombs that burst into the mouth, and the red onions gave him the spicy bang that makes my mouth water, as I write! When we enjoyed the salad, the first of our two special tile baking pizzas came and what works of art! It was such a beauty that I almost didn't want to cut it up. I almost said. We had Grimaldi's pizza of the month that ordered Prosciutto Arugula Specialty Pizza. This classic white pizza was covered with cut prosciutto, a shaved cheese mixture and fresh arugula. Unbelievable! I love white pizzas and the Prosciutto Arugula was exactly what I had hoped for. If you're not familiar with white pizzas, you don't know what you missed! I think they have a much lighter taste and the crispy crust... It's something special. Now for my visit. I had to try my personal favorite piece, the pizza I always order if I don't try to jump outside the box; a traditional New York thin crust with classic tomato-based pizza sauce and pepperoni, meatballs, mushrooms and jalapenos. This precious, crispy treat was so rich in taste it made my cheeks poker. The house wine was the perfect compliment to this wonderful brick-oven rock. I just love the refreshing vinaigrette side kicking out the salad between the bites of such a rich cake. Then, a sip of wine and I was thrown back to the old block in New York. You can say that Grimaldi only uses the finest, freshest ingredients, an element that I feel, separates the good from the big one when it comes to pizza. We had ordered a big pizza because it's just not right to leave a great pizzeria home without a few slices, right? In my book, the perfect pizza cake is an all-day event. Time to dessert! And if I thought our meals couldn't get better, it did! Grimaldis Pizzeria offers a variety of delicious, decadent desserts. Well, I still order a few, but at Grimaldi's, I recommend you get the Dessert Trio. This three-dessert sample includes homemade cheesecake, cannoli and tiramisu. I know it sounds lame, but I really can not only recommend one, because everyone has their own unique taste and texture and everyone is simply irresistible. For the best culinary experience in Grimaldi's Pizzeria, I suggest you take your time and enjoy everything that this new Houston favorite has to offer. In contrast to the racy city in which it started, this pizzeria fits directly into our relaxed Texas culture... so just relax and make it a full-day celebration!"

"So.... where do I start... I love the Margherita pizza it is delicious. However the service isn't great. When we first walked in the hostess had her back to the desk chit-chating with other workers. We were then seated right in the main pathway with approx 4 other people in the whole place it was a terrible seat as 2 people were practically right next to us at a slightly lower level(I could've reached out and touched them)-I asked to move, and they allowed it. Another family came basically at the same time and also asked to moved as they were first seated right in the pathway. We then ordered 2 drinks; peach Moscow mule and my husband got a drink. The Moscow mule was awful, I asked if I could just get some more peach it in or something as i didnt feel it was made correctly at all- of course he brought me a little container of peach now I found this quite funny as most restaurants would just simply remake the drink- not here. My husband also saw the waiter and bartender talking and heard that the peach was forgotten. Again- at that point... why not just remake the drink? I got the bruscetta trio and it was amazing, the waiter brought it and left- no Silverwere or napkins yet. Every other table was able to get napkins and water but we were not even asked. So I ate the bruscetta without these things and again... waiter didn't come back until I finished it. When he did come back we asked about Silverwere which took a good 5 minutes from that point to be brought to our table. Pizza came out and we ate it, he checked on us 2 times to make sure it was good and then went back to where they were making the food- probably to talk. We finished our pizza and wanted a box and the check but the waiter didn't come back- it took him 20 minutes to come back[I timed it]. He finally came out, and we asked for a box and check right away and immediately gave him the card. We didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for him to leave and come back. So we spend $73 before using some of our points which brought it too $53 for an appetizer, 2 pizzas and 2 drinks- one of which was not great at all, but hey I wasn't going to waste the money and not drink it. Pizzas were great as usual, but the service was not. The waiter was very friendly, but that is it- the workers definitely did not care much about their tables sense they spent most of their time talking to each other at the bar[probably why my drink was bad] then actually working. Overall: Don't eat there, take the food to go and pop it in the oven to heat it up, it'll taste the same and you won't have to deal with anything"
