"I've been a regular at EPH for several months now, and I have to say that it's quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. The food is always amazing, the service is top-notch, and the vibe is just right for a relaxing night out. I have to give a special shoutout to the staff members who have made my visits so enjoyable. Keegan, Kanasa and Ernesto are some of the most attentive and friendly servers/bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. They always make me feel welcome and go out of their way to ensure that I have a great experience. Of course, the food is the real star of the show here. Whether I'm in the mood for a juicy burger, a hearty salad, or some perfectly crispy fries, I always know that I'm in for a treat. The kitchen staff clearly takes pride in their work, and it shows in every dish that comes out of the kitchen. The vibe of the place is also just right. It's a great spot for a casual dinner with friends, a date night, or just a solo meal at the bar. The decor is cozy and inviting, and the music is always on point. Overall, I would highly recommend EPH to anyone looking for a great meal and a fun night out. Thanks to Keegan, Kanasa, Ernesto, Jenifer, Riley, Isaac, BILLiam, Brie, Sarah, Kristan (Manager) and the rest of the staff for making my visits so memorable!"

"that was my first dinner on the way to mardi gras 2022. they kept up, but I could eat in only 30 minutes. I was so nervous because we didn't really eat in ontario with the pandemic and curly downs. I felt so strange to be out, but the one standing in which I was was was on the back of the restaurants so I really tried to relax and enjoy the experience. and I must say I can't wait to go back next year. I have never eaten in a fondue restaurant, but had friends in vancouver who had prepared this dinner for me before, and I wanted to do it again and again. there are different courses, so it can be a little expensive, especially when they eat solo, but so much worth it. they have special gluten-free menu items that are so wonderful if they can't eat what most other people can order. james was my server and he made a wonderful job explaining how everything worked and made sure I took care of it. I ordered a cherry limonade to drink. highly recommended. the starter course was wisconsin cheddar with apple, gluten-free bread and vegetable broccoli, carrot and flower cabbage. so delicious. I admit that I had better GF bread, but at any time they can get it in a restaurant is great because not every restaurant it offers. it was a little bland and chew, but the cheese was exquisite. for the next cure I ordered the create your own entree. my three meats were garnel, garlic pepper steak and duck. I decided to cook it in-season vegetables. all the objects were marked, which were by the way, which feels safer to eat. james gave me the cooking times for every meat. that is low carb, btw, that fits my edgy style. there is a hot plate built in the table for the bouillon to cook the meat. they also get six different dip sauce. that was really fresh and delicious. to dessert I asked james to surprise me. he asked me if I liked a few flavors and finally brought me a chocolate/peanut butter food with strawberries, bananas and pineapple. It was not only so much fun to eat this food, but it was all very delicious. I enjoyed the experience and the aromes. I will stop on my way to mardi gras 2023."

"This was my first time eating at this Restaurant on 2/19/2021 and I was looking forward to it due to my enjoyment for seafood. I will say the food was delicious. We order the New England Clam Chowder which was delicious. The Fried Calamari we oder was hard and not fresh. The crab cakes were delicious. The grilled Ribeye Steak was cooked great and tastetet great also. The OB’s Pan Roast was very good with a mixture of Lobster, Shrimp, Crab Claws and more. (I would get this again The only downside was our server did not care. I asked him several questions and he told me (I don’t care twice!!! He never once checked on us to even ask how we were doing and how is the food. I am a Caesar’s Diamond member and the person I was with is Diamond Plus, so we do spend money at Caesars Properties nor to be treated in a certain way. I still tipped the server, however, he would have gotten a larger tip due to his bad attitude with us. I will definitely go back to this restaurant, however, I will make sure I am not served by that particular server."

"we went on Valentine's Day, which must be the hands down the busiest day for any restaurant. no reservation, and it was actually overcrowded. but the host were still able to find us a table with minimal, reasonable waiting time. the staff was prompt, friendly, courteous and on it! and the food! everything was delicious! they must taste the seafood gumbo, simply delightful. the band playing in the other room was a good guide to our meal. very glad that we tried this place for the first time, the atmosphere was elevated and classically still covered. it was just what we were looking for, and I can't wait to go back."

"I made the reservation for a party of two for Thursday night during restaurant week at 6:45. We arrived one hour early because we wanted to have a drink in the bar before being seated. I checked in one hour prior and asked if it would be possible to sit in the covered patio. The hostess said she already had us selected for the covered patio dining. Happy, we headed to the bar. We closed out our bar tab and checked back in to the hostess stand. The hostess led us past the indoor patio that we were told we would be seated in, and directly to the outside patio. We were the only people out there. We were told it would be nice because the heater was on. Despite the niceness of the heater sitting outside on the UNCOVERED patio, we were told we had a table in the section with the covered patio. Being outside was not so bad, but we definitely did not get the service those inside did. Our server offered us bread, we watched her bring bread to her covered patio tables, yet, she was unable to get outside to us to deliver our bread. So, our bread came AFTER our appetizers. Our drinks were delivered later because of our location, our waters were not filled because of our location. Then, they sat a large table outside, and another table. Basically, the food was good as usual, but we were not given the service we would have had if our table was conveniently located inside, on the covered patio, like I was told we would get. I was a server for 13 years, so I understand the inconvenience of tables that are far away, separated by a door, when all of your other tables are inside. I also understand that Restaurant Week does not allow servers to give the type of attentive service that they usually would give. But, server/busser 101 is don 't ask someone if you can take their plate while they are still eating. I shouldn 't be asked Can I take your plate , just because I put my fork down. I will go again, but definitely not during Restaurant Week."

"My wife and I came in just for a quick bite to eat. We were not expecting to get what we got. First off Devin was amazing. This guy needs a raise. Every time my wife and I go somewhere either she or I will have some questions about the food. He was very patient and helpful. Offered recommendations and even substitutions for those recommendations if it was something we didn't eat normally. Always made sure we had everything we needed. Came to check on us at the right times. Not too much not too little. Secondly, the sushi was first class all the way. I have had sushi across many states and this is by far the best I have ever had. All of the ingredients were very fresh. We will be back. Thank you for such a great dining experience."

"Regrettably this is the lowest rating I have given out for any dine in experience. To start off this restaurant is 95% self service with the only exception being that they will bring the food to you. Which would be acceptable except that they ask for a tip prior to knowing that it is mostly self service. You will have to take the chips and salsa to your own table and will have to put away your plates when you are done eating.I was surprised with the quality of the tortilla chips that are on the house and that was the climax of my experience. It set my expectations much higher than what I was about to experience. The food , a Steak Torta -The food was ready in less than five minutes which was surprisingly quick. Upon arrival I quickly noticed that the bread to meat ratio was disappointing. After a few bites my taste buds were unamused. The meat was soft but lacked seasoning and salt. None of the other ingredients tasted in sync and I believe the fault lies with the bread. I wish I took a picture but the amount of bread to meat ratio was ridiculous, especially with a 13$ pretax) amount. This is not the correct bread type for a torta…. I believe changing the bread and actually toasting both sides of each piece would remedy most of the issues with this experience. The customer service was acceptable and our hostess was friendly."

"I came in with a group of friends. This was our first time in downtown Elgin, and we were excited to grab a coffee. We waited to be seated until a lady came up and very frustrated told us to sit anywhere. My friend wanted to leave as soon as she heard her tone. But I told her to ignore it, maybe she was having a bad night. We sat down, and the lady shoved us our menus. I obviously began to feel uncomfortable, but we sat and waited. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to enjoy a coffee since they never came to attend us. She only came over until she saw we got up to leave. Maybe this is a great place, but sadly we didn’t get to experience it."

"Crab dip was below average but steamed prawns were great. The server never cleared the table before bringing more food out. Then the runner looked confused when I asked them to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed that the building was under negative air pressure caused by the hood of the kitchen hood (sucked in doors of the kitchen parlor) and hot, humid outside air poured into the restaurant when the outside doors opened. Sit away from doors if you want air conditioning. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to a long pier on the water."

"My guest arrived before me was seated and had an Ice Tea. Our waiter immediately took my drink order and promptly returned, read off the special. We indicated we needed more time. Our ice completely melted in our drinks. Our waiter disappeared. We got someones attention [actually everyones attention when I said loudly ma'am could you find our server? She couldn't find him but took our order and everything was flawless after that. My guest had the chicken salad with fruit and a muffin, genius potion. I had the hot bacon slaw with the smallest amount of bacon I've ever seen about a teaspoon. Ok it's a side item. Still delicious. !! My Hot Brown was perfection of turkey layered with a delicious sauce topped with cheese and bacon. I love Tousey house Its a very comforting standby."

"We have been twice in the last 2 weeks ... which describes how much we love Metro 8. The porcini mushroom noodles are my favorite along with steak and tuna. The vegetables are always so fresh and perfectly prepared. The salads are crispy and dressed properly, and the wine list is huge and tasty. Perfect for dates, girls' nights or special occasions. Correctly priced for the top notch food you get. Better steaks than Angus Barn, better pasta than Maggianos, and much cheaper. The terrace is our favorite dining space, but the tables inside are super romantic. We will no doubt be back soon. Great service, fantastic atmosphere, top bar and wine list and local food to celebrate small businesses ... all my favorite things! Parking is so much easier than downtown Durham and we love the taste of 9th Street. The desserts are fantastic and the coffee is delicious."

"Lovely place for when you're craving meat of any kind. You cook the meat yourself on a grill built into the table, though you can order a la cart if you'd like. I'm not super into meat and my friend didn't cook it all that well, so that's the reason for low food score. I've been a couple of times and it's a lovely restaurant, just not my style. The staff was the amazing and very welcoming to me and my friends who are completely clueless about cooking."
