"I was in town on business and the hotel front desk told me to come here and explained that “everything on the menu is good”. I believe them now. This place is truly fantastic. The service was as good as it could possibly be. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and was happy to make suggestions. I took her advice and ordered fried mushy and prime rib. It was excellent and I wasn’t able to finish because they give a lot of food. I also ordered a **** Mary which was also excellent. I wish I lived closer to this place or traveled to Indiana more because I would definitely go out of my way to go here again. I understand this is family owned and that really shows. I love this place."

"Not enough staff people that know what they are doing. Watched the cook as he stacked plates of food on top of plates with food while waitress just walked by the stacks instead of taking them to the people waiting on their food. Waitress cleaned tables, wiped counter, took money, but the stacked food sat for 15 minutes before it was served. Got to see the cook put our cooked food on the shelf that was designated for cooked orders but it took the waitress 10 minutes to bring our food maybe 20 steps away.Wanted to try a new place and now that I have I won't go back.Parking is either on the street or in the parking lot where it is hard to navigate with tiny parking areas and it was stuffed with vehicles that were hard to get around.My only tip is for potential customers ...avoid this place!"

"Ordered a pizza and a gondola online at 12:50 PM. Drove to the restaurant and immediately went into the carryout lobby. Wasn 't long to have my turn at the counter and was told it would be a while for the pizza. Ok. It 's only been 10-ish minutes. Waited patiently for 20+ minutes, asked about my pizza and was told again it would be a bit as they were short-handed. Ok. Not unusual in many places, but pushing the limits of acceptability here. A bit before I asked about my order, I noticed what I thought might be my pizza getting put into the warming oven. Counterguy never paid any attention to those two pizzas that were in there in spite of having pulled a couple of other orders out to give to their owners. So back to waiting. At about 1:35 (45 minutes after the order was entered), Counterguy says 'Here 's your pizza '. To which I replied, Um, that 's a 6 , I ordered a 10 AND a gondola. Is this a 10? He said no, grabbed a gondola (at least it was the right one), and then proceeds to finally look into the warming oven, at the very pizza that has been sitting in there for over 30 MINUTES! Turns to hand it to me and I say You 've got to be kidding me! That pizza 's been sitting there for half an hour or more while you left me waiting? ' Counterguy sharply replies 'I 'm trying to do five things here. ' No apology, just an excuse that he was too busy. Granted he was busy, but he never even looked at that pizza or the other one in there in all that time. So while I was waiting and I was basically watching my pizza turn into a brick. Counterguy proceeded to deny responsibility for the poor service when I addressed his snappy response about being busy. Got to my car (finally) with my pizza and gondola. Before leaving the lot, called the manager and was told only that he would talk to Counterguy and discipline him accordingly. No empathy, no apology, just mostly dead silence. Discipline him accordingly sounds to me like he was likely not even going to say a word to him. This ticked me off further and though not proud of it I gave him an earful, too. Got home with my brick with extra cheese and after one bite, tossed the whole dam*ed thing in the garbage. I have never had worse service at Avanti 's."

"I really wanted to love this place, but I didn't. While our personal server was very kind and was clearly working her tail off, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. When we arrived, the place was very busy, which we expected as it was a Friday at 5:00 but we literally stood at the door next to the bar for 10 minutes before any staff member even approached us. The bartender and another waitress walked by us at least 20 times and literally avoided eye contact with us. There were empty tables that needed to be cleaned up but there was clearly not enough staff to do so. Honestly, we would have been very content to just wait for a table when they were ready to seat us but it's just common courtesy to at least say hello to an arriving customer and let them know that at least their presence has been acknowledged. With COVID, we have experienced first hand the lack of staff and the difficulty in trying to accommodate patrons and we get it, but it only takes two seconds to say hi and we will be with you shortly to make a customer feel at least welcomed.Once our waitress finely did seat us, the overall experience was unremarkable. Let's be clear, she did her VERY best, but all in all, the ambience was mediocre, the food meh, and the sense that outsiders weren't overly welcome was tangible rude comments were made about us by some locals at the bar in such a way that it was purposeful for us to hear. I felt bad for our waitress she clearly was overworked and underpaid. My advice, if you are a local, keep on going. I'm sure the treatment you receive is fabulous. If you are just visiting, there's probably other places that will be more accommodating."

"Me and my wife went here for lunch on Good Friday and there was a sign at the front stating that they were short handed so please be patient with the staff. We thought that might be a problem but we were seated quickly, got our order in quickly and got our food very quick too. The food was very good and the price was even better. We have had food service problems here in the past with a full staff working so this was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress Jacqueline was very nice, attentive and was working very hard as well."

"Best gyro platters and wraps in Nashville the rice is always cooked to perfection the salad and the tabouli is crisp and fresh tomatoes always fresh Pita bread tasty good and fresh grape leaves are good. Of course the lamb is delicious cooked and served to perfection. I've never gotten a bad meal I always get the platter or wrap. I love Greek food , we are Sicilian I've been all over the country this is one of the best Greek restaurants I've ever eaten at the restaurant is always clean the prices are exceptional. Once you've been here you'll never go anywhere else. I only write reviews if a place is above 5 but we can only get fives"

For main dishes, we love the homemade lasagna, tortellini with meat sauce, and baked cod with Italian vegetables. If you're in the mood for a cold sandwich, you can't go wrong with Avanti's Famous Gondola, featuring lean ham, salami, American cheese, and fresh salad. For a hot sandwich, the roasted ham and cheese or my personal favorite, the roasted turkey with Swiss cheese, never disappoints. My go-to appetizer is their fried mushrooms served with ranch dressing—so delicious! With numerous menu options, Avanti's is one of our favorite Italian restaurants for family meals. Their bread is always fresh and tasty, and having dined here for over 30 years, I've never been let down by the food or service. For our Christmas party on December 15, 2018, we opted for their buffet, which was absolutely fantastic! I think we've found a perfect venue for future family Christmas gatherings. Everything was just right, and our little elf of a waitress did an outstanding job. The buffet included spaghetti with meat or Alfredo sauce (the best I've ever had), salad, Italian vegetables, gondola sandwiches, and their famous bread served at the table. We all had a wonderful time, and with our large family, it was great not to have to worry about cooking!"

"Not great. We order and wait 10-15 minutes for drinks. Food lasted 35 minutes. Our waitress never came back to ask if we need anything. At the end of my meal I had to finish my meal with my mothers water, as we were never asked if refills on drinks were necessary. Ketchup bottle was empty. I had to fly another waitress to get a new one. We wanted to shake. At first, my son caught her with his Shake request, then my daughter then even every request the waitress brought a new bill.. Instead of holding to the table on the first request and asking if someone else wants to order something she just brought us past. The food was great. The service was very disappointing."

"This particular visit was good if I left out the comment concerning the laboratory. The men's restroom had both, the urinal AND the stall, been horribly ignored because **** covered the commode lid and to avoid standing in ****, at the urinal, I had to stand back and aim. It was easily seen that no attention was paid to the facilities. I met my wife at the entrance to the restrooms and gave her paper towels from the men's restroom because of the ladies restroom having none. Just letting it be known, when **** dries, it's sticky from the sugar in the body. That's my description of the floor."

"Been waiting on a simple waffle, egg, and ham breakfast almost an hour now!!! The waitress never even bothered to come and check on us or at least update us on the waiting time. Mind you that when we arrived there was hardly anybody. They finally bring out our 2 waffles and eggs and they are as hard as a rock and cold! We sent it back and decided we no longer wanted to eat here. Asked to pay for our drinks so we could leave and that took another 15 minutes and to top it off the waitress was very rude like it was our fault that their service sucked!! Outrageous service and behavior!! Will never come here again!!"

The girl in the window April 1, 2022 late night was very friendly and even held a short conversation. I'm from Toronto and I'm glad to visit this place as he brings back memories.
