"When I and my guests walked in, I immediately noticed people looking at us and what made it more uncomfortable their eyes followed us all the way to our seats. I looked back at them finally after I sat down and they stopped. Then the waitress came by and I tried being a little humorous, but she wasn't going with it. I then decided to just be normal with the waiters because I inferred that they were just being professional. The waiters took a while to refill our cups. Our initial waitress argued with me that there was no Rootbeer soda when I had just gotten a refill from another waiter. She even had the nerve to tell me that I didn't know what I was drinking. My initial drink was sweet tea, but she said they only served unsweet. I then decided to mix the unsweet with the sweet soda. I told her to serve a bit of tea and add the rest sprite soda. The cup came back very dark and tasted like unsweet tea. It should have been a very light brown if she had done it right. Then I'm told there was military discount and I ask if it was per person or per ticket or if there was another method. I was told no, which was okay. After a while, I am told there is no military discount at all. This is San Antonio Tx and I strongly believe there should be military discounts all over this great military city. I then tasted the food and if not for the extra sauce that was brought to me; I wouldn't have eaten it. The sushi at Chopstix, for me, tasted better than the ones I ordered there. I then got the bill and noticed an added 18% gratuity charge. It was just 4 of us there. The service was bad and the food wasn't very good. I will never return there. So disappointed with this place. UPDATE: AUG. 7 2021 The manager spoke with me and paid me back the wrongful gratuity charge. She told me we could actually let the waiters knows how to cook the items on the menu to better suit our wants. She apologized for the treatment we were given. I changed from 1 star to 3 stars. I am hoping that military discount becomes a reality there and that we get treated better next time we go. This place has a lot of potential and I hope to give it a whopping 5 stars soon."

"Still my favorite sushi/hibachi spot in the metro Atlanta area! I will drive really far out of my way for this gem because I know I will get a quality meal, which, lets be honest can be hard to come by these days. Consistently delicious and always fast. The hibachi area is your typical experience. We?ve done that once or twice in the past. We typically get our food to go but last night we dined in the first time since the Pandemic. I always go with the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box and my boyfriend sticks to his beloved house fried rice(I steal his shrimp We started with pork gyoza, pan fried. The Bento Box delivers everything one could want in a Japanese dining experience. First you get Miso soup, a delightful light bright soup with fried onions (yum and fresh mushrooms. The second course is a fresh salad with your choice of house made ginger dressing or ranch. You are wrong if you go with anything other than the ginger. I could drink the stuff. Then the Bento Box hits the table and packs a mighty punch. California roll with wasabi and ginger, Shrimp Tempura, Pork Gyoza, fried rice and the most tender chicken teriyaki over onions. You can opt for brown rice for $1 more. (They cannot make brown fried rice?I asked! Enjoy a glass (or bottle of sake, beer, wine or mixed cocktail. They have a huge fully stocked bar. I will continue to haunt this place till the end of my days. So good. So so good."

"4.3 stars: Maki Maki is my go to spot for consistently solid sushi in New City. It’s much more affordable than other sushi spots like Kumo, yet still fresh and good. It’s definitely not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but for the price and consistency, it’s great! At this time, they’re still takeout only, but I used to like dining in as well— it’s a small space but service was always friendly. We ordered takeout recently through UberEats and the food was well packaged and pickup was easy. We got the following items: Salmon Dinner: I’m a big fan of salmon, so I liked this. You get fresh and large pieces of salmon in every form. Seaweed Salad: Always love a good seaweed salad and this one tasted fresh and flavorful. Tuna Tartar: A little too mushy in textures, but good flavors, slightly sweet, and tasty. Maki Trio: This is a great deal— 3 rolls for $18.95. We got the Spicy Yellowfin Crunch, Black Pepper Tuna Avocado, and White Tuna Avocado Rolls. All 3 were solid and fresh with a good ratio of rice and inside contents. They were wrapped a little too loosely, though. Tofu Teriyaki Dinner Box: Tofu was really well fried and had a lot of flavor and nice crispy texture. The other items were a nice addition too. Veggie Fried Rice: Pretty good and standard. The order also came with 3 miso soups and salads with ginger dressing. In the past, I’ve also ordered Hibachi noodles, ramen, and udon noodles all of which were mediocre not that good. I’d definitely stick with the sushi here, which has always been consistently good for me!"
