"I recently took my family to Masawa, a local Ethiopian restaurant on W. 121st St., for the first time in years. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The owner was rude, engaging with every table except ours, and the server seemed overwhelmed. It felt like our table was completely overlooked while the owner attended to others. Although the hostess made an effort, the service overall was lacking, and the food was quite bland. Additionally, the music selection consisted mostly of poorly chosen top 40 hits. On a positive note, the bartender, Mo, was fantastic. However, given this experience, I will stick to authentic Ethiopian restaurants in the future, where the culture and hospitality are genuinely warm. It’s frustrating to spend over $100 and receive such treatment."
