"This restaurant is a hidden gem in the community! In addition to the delicious food, the servers are incredibly friendly, providing excellent customer service that will make you want to return again and again. They also feature live music and local artist exhibits, adding to the charm of the place. With a rich history and a spacious feel, it's like being at home. I highly recommend visiting this spot. The food is absolutely delicious! Don't hesitate to get up from your couch and head over there right now. My new favorite dish is the Salmon - it has a flavorful kick without being too spicy, and the potatoes are cooked to perfection. Keep in mind that the lentil soup that comes with it may be spicy, so ask for it on the side if you prefer less heat."

We enjoyed ourselves immensely at this very intimate cafe. The friendly staff added to the delicious meal. The salmon was absolutely scrumptious and the creamy lentil was superb. Oh let?s not forget the drinks, Redd Foxx and the Nina Simone is a must. We definitely will be back.

A neighborhood fixture, and for good reason. The warm and friendly staff and owners always make us feel welcome and the food is consistently delicious. The live jazz is top level, especially on Fridays, but conversation is not gonna happen too much those nights. The rest of the week the ambience is perfect. View menu

The place is beautiful, the music the ambiance. The food however was very disappointing. I ordered Doro Wat my favorite dish and it barely had any Berbere in it. Much to overpriced for one single injera and bland doro wat. Also the salmon Salad was very lack luster. I thought I'd at least get a nice peace of grilled salmon. All this cost me over $50 bucks. If they improve the food I'd definitely come back.

I really liked the Ethiopian cuisine at this restaurant. They had all the traditional dishes. My only complaint was the service. Our server was friendly, but it seemed like they were the only staff member working that busy night. They were juggling multiple tasks, which caused delays in taking orders, receiving food, and paying the bill. Despite this, I enjoyed the food and just wished they had more help. Thank you!

3 of us arrived early enough to snag seats on the little back patio; by the time we left, it was nearly filled! If you're not vegetarian try the Doro tibs w jollof rice. The 2 vegheads in our group loved the mushroom tibs, with injera. All 3 of us loved the ful appetizer, cooked beans in a flavorful sauce, served with pita, and we loved the jollof rice. And a side of the goren collards, the dish I'd seen the chef prepare on Zoom, is also excellent! The photo is a pretty little plate; each of us had one to share our appetizer, that yummy ful! I love this place. The proprietors have thoughtfully designed their space and dining experience to nurture with literature, art, music, color, and diversity of food choices. There has always been street parking (another perk)! I like the colorful outdoor garden space, but of course it is rather cool this time of year. Our favorite food is the Ethiopian vegetarian meal for two. The coffee was good. The deserts were original and unique. The diverse food and drink choices would make this a favorable experience for a group of family or friends who have different tastes.

We love this restaurant! It really reflected the different cultures that it represents. A whole bookshelf is dedicated to customers who are interested being able to learn more about Ethiopian and African American history among other topics. The food was also incredible! We came for dinner and loved the veggie combo for two with injera, and we ordered the ful appetizer and the malawach with honey dessert. Everything was amazing and we did not leave one drop. I loved the tequila sunrise with agave and grenadine and the Ethiopian honey wine. Hope to come back for brunch soon!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
