"A few weeks ago, I visited Bar Bruno, a charming Mexican Bistro that knows how to play with flavors. With each bite, I found myself already plotting my next visit. Bar Bruno is the perfect neighborhood spot and a MUST-VISIT. While I won't wax poetic about the decor, the ambiance cradles you in its warm embrace. For an after-work cocktail, an impromptu date night, or simply a delightful meal—Bar Bruno is a beautiful option. Oh, and did I mention they serve brunch? The staff embodies warmth, extending a welcome that feels like a hug in the form of impeccable service—the food dances on your palate, a perfect companion to your choice of libation. On my first visit, I indulged in a taco trio featuring steak, fish, and shrimp, a true palate pleaser. This time around, we explored their dinner menu. We initiated the feast with Guacamole and Plantains, then ventured onto the Chopped Cheese Wraps, Burger Tacos, and Quinoa Veggie Burgers. For the grand finale—we ended on a sweet note with the Flan and Dessert Nachos. Guacamole is not my usual pick, but the pumpkin seeds made it a flavorful and adventurous choice. The Plantains was the perfect harmony of sweet and savory, transcending a mere appetizer to become the ultimate side dish. The Chopped Cheese Wrap deserves a standing ovation. A mouthwatering blend of pepper jack cheese and onions—makes it an absolute must-order. The Quinoa Veggie Burger, a vegetarian delight, tasted so good that I momentarily forgot it was meatless. But the crown jewel of the evening? The Burger Tacos—imagine the perfect burger and a delightful taco having a culinary love affair. And guess what? The French fries are in the tacos. Genius. And the dessert? The Flan and Dessert Nachos brought our memorable meal to a sweet conclusion. While dinner was an absolute delight, I'd gladly return for the margaritas. These concoctions are in a league of their own, perfectly balanced with a burst of flavor that avoids the pitfall of excessive sweetness. Passion Fruit and Strawberry were our picks, and they left us craving more. This visit to Bar Bruno was nothing short of a wonderful, unforgettable experience, and I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit with their tempting menu."

Nuevo Tacos Al Suadero

Nuevo Tacos Al Suadero

"This location is smaller than the other one on 94th st. There are about 9 tables. We sat and out of the 3 ladies that were there and seemed to be the waitresses not one greeted us or gave us a menu. We saw them walking past us not really doing much and still they didn't acknowledged us until we waved at one of them. She gave us the menu and we had to wave at her again because it had been past 10 minutes and she still hadn't taken our order. I figured since this was the second location the food was going to taste the same so I ordered what I had went there for in the first place. I got 2 tacos de suadero and 1 taco de chivo. I got chicken fingers for my little one. When I tried the tacos de suadero I noticed that they didn't taste the same as the other location. The salsas were also different from the other location from what I remember. Definitely not worth it to drive all the way to Queens. I still ate the tacos though, I tried the taco de chivo last and it made me so nauseous. Just by looking at the meat you can see it was old. It looked dark brown and dry. I told my husband to try it and he agreed it was gross. He told the waitress the meat might not be good anymore and she said she will tell the cook. I didn't ate that taco obviously. Also, the chicken fingers looked more like chicken chunks. Harder to eat for a little kid. Another annoying thing from the customer service was asking for my little one's drink in a plastic cup to avoid spills obviously and the waitress brings the drink in a plastic cup but with no lid. Like come on you would think it would be common sense to also put a lid but of course we had to wave again to get a lid. At the end the waitress was acting extra nice helping us put away my little one's food that she barely ate. Price was pretty reasonable. We payed $50 for 3 orders and 3 drinks. But we would never come here again sorry, I do not recommend if you want and know about real authentic mexican food. If you like tex mex then maybe you would like this place."

"I have been living in California for 18 years, with my husband on weekends we go to different areas and Los Altos is one of my favorites. We had lunch and stayed for coffee. Yesterday we tried this colorful place: The interior is very warm, there is order, the guys from the staff are very attentive and professional. I ordered chips and salsa and two salads and we sat outside on the wide terrace on the street to wait for the order, when I went to get it, what a pleasant surprise: the salads are huge, also delicious. It has many tables with umbrellas, the wifi is powerful and reaches well outside, by the way the key is Burritos =D the atmosphere was calm and the service was fast. It opens at 9:30 a.m. every day and from Sunday to Wednesday it closes at 8:00 a.m. Thursday to Saturday it closes at 8:30 p.m. Surely on my next visit to Los Altos I will return to this place. I highly recommend it. Update: Today we went for the second time for another great lunch with my husband, there were quite a few people in the line before me, finally a very nice guy took my order Lulu chopped Salad al Pastor and Beef Taquitos he told me that it would be ready in 10 minutes. As it was a short time I stayed inside the place and noticed that he took orders by phone too and they accumulated until there were so many that the delivery of our lunch took almost 40 minutes. It's a shame because the food is very tasty."

La Piñata

"I went here for lunch after my mother's visit at the hospital nearby. This is probably a better choice for getting Mexican food if you are near the Paseo Padre Parkway area. It's an East Bay and Fremont staple for getting your tequila and Mezcal fix. They have over 20+ selections here, and if you are a fan, newbie, or an aficionado of the Mexican spirit. I suggest you come by at this restaurant. The menu has been changed for the better, but the taste is still the same. This is more of a Mexican American palate. You can ask for some spicier hot salsa with extra cents. They have appetizers, tacos, burritos, bowls, Casuela (it's a guisado made with any protein, vegetables cooked in a clay pot or terra cotta pot that keeps it warm hot for longer periods of time while eating your meal) You can have it with corn or flour tortillas, or rice. They also offer many seafood selections like shrimp, shrimp cocktail, and grilled fish. I would say La Pinata offers more Mexican American style street food and some home cooking dishes to cater to many people like 3 to 5, or more. But there are selections for 1 2 people. Drinks are sodas, iced teas, Mexican spirits, tequila, Mezcal, margarita, mojitos, and wine. Portion sizes is average for Americans, so it's pretty big. This is an affordable restaurant because I ordered the grilled carne asada bowl with Spanish rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese. I added salsa that came with free corn totopos (tortilla chips). Chips and salsa were free to start off your appetite. The steak bowl was $9.99 and the raspberry iced tea was $3.45. Portion size is doubled compared to Chipotle. Food is more palatable and flavorful if you add more salsa for more spice, and flavor to your food. Food is very good here, and you will get the best bang for your buck here at La Pinata. Seafood prices are around $20 36 depending on the catch of the fish of that day. La Pinata is a Mexican restaurant that offers the best selection of Mexican spirits like Mezcal, tequila, wines, and other famous and popular cocktails. Then the food comes in second it's very good, flavorful and delicious. Add some salsa or ask them if they have a spicier salsa to satisfy your hunger and your spicy tolerance level. They can accommodate whatever allergies you have. Food and drink are 5/5. Ambiance has changed to a modern and Mexican feel of the surrounding 5/5. This place might have changed ownership and management for the better since the original owners retired."
