"My friend and I decided to try it out as we heard they recently opened. “Unique” would be a good word to describe the vibe. The decor is a mix of ethnic and modern accents. I immediately noticed the elephant with its trunk up and facing the door. Hopefully it’s bringing the establishment much good fortune!The coffee was good, but not the main attraction. Not surprisingly, the menu is extremely healthy. We split the Fresh Start Omelette (Organic eggs, tomatoes, portabella mushrooms, monterrey jack cheese, red onion, bell pepper, spinach). It was healthy without compromising the taste. My favorite was the multigrain pita bread that came on the side. It was warmed, really soft, and really yummy! Leave it to me to like the carbs. Lol. When I go back, whatever I order, the pita bread has got to be included.Overall, it’s a great option in a great town to grab a healthy bite to eat. Try it out and let me know if you like it."

"I really enjoy Amias Sensitivessen. The food is great, a little pricey but definitely worth it. Unfortunately, the delivery driver accidentally dropped my jumbo ice cream coffee, but only admitted to the mistake regarding the sandwich. On 4/15/21, they were 10 minutes late with my order and didn't inform me about the delay. Amias charges $25.00 for 15 Buffalo wings, while other restaurants charge $13.00 for the same amount. One employee mentioned that the price increase was due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which was news to me as I didn't know chickens could get that virus. Perhaps chickens should wear masks. Just a thought. On 6/4/22, I placed a large breakfast order and the young lady who took my order did an excellent job ensuring everything was correct. Good customer service."

"Delicious, cute, wholesome diner in downtown Chicago. These are hands down some of the best pancakes I have ever had! The skillet was good but greasy. The fries were phenomenal and the wrap looked good too. Mimosas were okay. I will be back to try more things here because the menu is HUGE but it seemed expensive to me- roughly $30 for lunch for one person- no thank you."

"It was full for lunch. We sat and after waiting for 10 minutes, the staff never came to the table. Looks like they can't treat many people. The waitress went to the table behind us and they sat behind us. They had coffee, water and a soft drink on the table and we were not recognized yet. Managers should really circulate and make sure their customers take care. Needless to say, we went out and we? not even stopped asking what the problem was. It's a shame because many people rave over this diner."

"Really surprised to find this diamond in the rough. Under a permanent structure of scaffolding, and certainly not what I would call an enticing decor, the food and service at this diner was especially good. I was looking for a good place to sit while waiting for someone at the dental surgery clinic next door. The table cubicles were strewn in a most un feng shui fashion, seats ripped and needing repair, I was desperate and sat. The waitress was pleasant and accommodating. I actually got skim milk for coffee, the toast was unbuttered, the eggs hot and runny and best of all the home fries were crispy and flavorful. I?ve been so used to horrible undercooked home fries I?d forgotten they weren?t supposed to be that way. When finished I confessed why I was lingering and she made me even more welcome with an invitation to sit as long as I would like. I sat and watched NY1 for a while until summoned next door. I will be back."

"So it's 6am the woman at from desk not very welcoming and not well groomed.There was only one customer in the place and one server. It took 12 minutes to ask what I would like. Server was behind me and talking with the woman from up front. I turnedaround gave them a look like what's up. Finally got some attention. Food was just OK. A cross from me there was a cart filledwith dirty dishes. Do you think someone could have cleared it. Well off to the men's room. Big mistake.Floor was wet and nosoap or paper towels. Photos to follow. I hope the owners read there reviews and take action. Sorry for my rant, but at 6in themorning this diner should be spotless. My booth was to the left of cart."

"Service was excellent. Everyone working there are very polite and courteous Food was very good. It was done just the way I liked it. Seasoned just right for my taste. There are partitions separating the booths. The bathroom was very clean. Although when my friend went in the pervious person was disgusting and pee all over the seat and floor, you know who you are....come on guy clean after you pee this isn't your house and there are no maids to keep after you. No courtesy at all. But one of the employees did go in there and cleaned it up, so when I went it was cleaned. The person who cleaned the bathroom also told me to becareful that the floor was wet. I definitely recommend this place and would go back when I have a chance to."

Me and a group of about 15 friends of mine went In for some late night dinner and we were beyond impressed with how organized and perfect everything came out for such a large group of people. "My husband and I pass this diner several times a week and keep saying we should check it out; so this past Thursday evening we decided we had a craving for the diner experience and pulled into the parking lot at City Diner. We were greeted and shown a table promptly. I know this diner is known more for its breakfast, but the menu is quite diverse and we were there for dinner, we decided we had a hankering for Greek cuisine. We ordered the stuffed grape leaves and hummus appetizers. I really like stuffed grape leaves, and though the best stuffed grape leaves I've had in the DC area are at Taverna Cretekou, City Diner's version hit the spot as well. The hummus and pita bread are both delicious as well. For our main course we ordered the athenian combo, which we realized after, was enough food to feed two people....the portions are definitely filling at City Diner. The platter has tasty gyro meat on a pita, spanakopita, salad, and french fries. You also get another side of salad or soup! Did I mention you will not leave hungry?! : This a definitely a place local diner fans enjoy and I can see why...from the decor to the super friendly staff, we felt at home the whole time. We plan to comeback to try breakfast or shakes and pie sometime soon. Thanks for a great traditional diner experience."

"The food was decent, but the customer service left much to be desired. The waiter wore his mask under his nose, and there was little effort made for social distancing. I was seated alone in a booth, while a group of four was squeezed into the booth directly behind me—there was less than a foot of space between me and two of them. Furthermore, I had specifically asked if they accepted my credit card as payment, and they confirmed that they did. However, later I discovered that the card machine was down, and I had to use their ATM to withdraw cash to pay my bill. This was frustrating, but what really crossed the line was when the waiter took my $10 and didn’t give me any change back. He wouldn’t even look at me when I approached him to ask if everything was settled. I would have left a tip regardless, but it was clear he wasn’t interested in earning one. I won’t be returning. "

Parking: Easy to access the building from anywhere in the parking lot plus there's plenty of spots. "I've been to this diner quite a few times, and it's probably my favorite restaurant in the city. This is always one of the spots I take friends and family when they're visiting town. Their burgers are exactly what you'd want from a diner, large and juicy. There is a bit of variability (they can be overdone from time to time), but they're usually spot on. Their cheesecake, though. I don't know where they get it, but it's absolutely phenomenal. I always try to get a slice when I'm in a group (just because the portions from the entree are very large, so more than enough to fill me). It's definitely the best cheesecake I've ever had, and that alone is normally worth the trip."
