"First, let me say the wine club seems like a good deal if you eat here at least once per month and like wine with your meal. They were including many free bottles of wine when they offered it to us, but we declined. We had a reservation for an early lunch and arrived on time. The restaurant was pretty much empty when we arrived, but they made us wait and seated two other parties before us even though we were there first. Then they seated us at a small booth for two. Shortly after that, they put a large party of 10 at a long table perpendicular to us. As I said, the restaurant was fairly empty. Half of the other party were kids between about 2 and 9 and all the kids were seated right beside our booth about 3 feet away. The kids, especially the two year old with a high-pitched scream, were so loud it hurt my ears. When the waitress arrived, I politely asked her a question about one of the dishes and she snapped at me for no reason. Later, she was overly friendly, probably because she realized she had been rude and wanted a tip, which she did receive. The food was fine and the portions good, though the quality has gone down hill in the last year or two as prices have risen. For example, the betty's potatoes used to be a favorite but now are just a small amount of soggy shredded potatoes swimming in a bowlful of a thin, copious sauce of questionable origin. It is mainly sauce and very little potatoes, so is not pleasant to try to eat. How can a sauce cost a restaurant less than shredded potatoes? It would be easy to improve with a little effort. I will not be ordering that again and am less inclined to eat here because of the quality differences which could just be due to the chef. We are already staying home more to be able to eat organic, GMO-free food anyway. Now if they would offer organic options or wild, I would definitely be back."

"I 'd like to start by saying that this restaurant should hands-down be the #1 contemporary American cuisine in St Louis and easily one of the top 20 or better restaurants in St Louis. My wife and I went here for a date night dinner and were completely impressed by everything from the service, to the wine selection, to the food, and ambiance. The restaurant itself has clearly attracted the attention of St Louis ' elite upper class as the restaurant clientele were so exuberant that we honestly felt a little out of place there. We enjoyed a delicious burette appetizer and I had the gumbo; which is a rotating option based on the availability of ingredients and chef 's inspiration. The gumbo wa probably the best gumbo I 've eaten outside of Louisiana. A lot of menu items had the chef 's Louisiana roots; gumbo, spices, and the Wedge Salad even came with craw fish on it (rather unique! . There were a number of chef 's special items and the menu was just large enough to provide options for everyone, while not being too bloated that it was hard to make a choice. The execution on the kitchen staff 's part was a perfect 10 out of 10. Our waiter was attentive, although clearly busy. We did not feel he was overbearing, but when the restaurant was full, it was evident that he was very engrossed in the number of tables he had. The only improvement area that I 'd offer/advise of future guests is that it was very evident that the people with the deepest pockets were given PLENTY of attention. My wife and I were well dressed and respectful, but the maitre 'D and front of the house staff spent most of their time ensuring that a select number of tables were enjoying their evening the most. A simple How 's everything with your meal from the front of the house staff is where the team could focus. Overall, we definitely will be back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The price point is clearly well represented on TripAdvisor at the level. For the two of us, we spent 400 (including tip and ordered a lower-tier bottle of wine. An adult family of four or two couples on a date night could easily spend close to 1,000 here (including alcohol and tip ."

"Where should I begin? First, and foremost, the food was some of the best food I have tried in my lifetime. It reminded me of fine dining in Paris in my Army days what seems like a lifetime ago. The Filet melts, while you taste the citrus and perfectly seasoned meat fibers as they dissolved slowly in your mouth! The tuna, lamb, soup, salad, all offered perfection in every savory morsel. If I were to rather this place simply by the food and friendly staff, 5 stars effortlessly....However; both my wife and I walked away feeling as if there was something more.. something missing. This was touted as a Valentine's Day experience... The mood wasn't really there and it wasn't just because it was a rainy night. There were no special decorations. There wasn't any anything particularly interesting happening in the area or the restaurant. There was no music and this I think is the biggest flaw but that's just me personally, as I pretty much like to have music for every situation, even with this small issue that wasn't it. The person who cooked our meals didn't come and greet us or even ask us how it was there was no wine included not even a soda with the price of the meal, and I wouldn't be opposed to paying a little bit extra to having the wine included , even when the waitress poured the water, it didn't feel like any particular occasion rather a typical Tuesday night in a quiet restaurant in a sleepy town. This experience could've been so much better and probably would have created a return customer if it were handled a little bit differently , but I believe next year we will be looking at one of the other area restaurants for one of their experiences, but I would still suggest it for anyone looking to try some really really good food."

"For my reservation on Open Table I requested a booth explaining that my 2 friends were celebrating birthdays so we had gifts and wanted the comfort and extra space of one of their large booths. They were not busy when we arrived yet we were told we couldn 't have a booth, as they save them for larger groups (which by the way I have sat with 5 others in a booth and it was very crowded and uncomfortable). Of the 3 booths only 2 were used all evening, so the 3 of us could have been seated in one. This was Disappointment #1. The service was fair. As they had many empty tables all evening, the service should have been better...Disappointment #2. The food took quiet a while to start coming out, which was odd because they weren 't that busy. Some of the food we wanted to enjoy together and we mentioned this to our server. Generally the dishes stream in and overlap, but we had 1 dish delivered and then nothing for quite some time, then all of a sudden several were delivered at the same time and finally our last dish came out much later after most everything else was consumed...Disappointment #3. My friends paid with credit cards, and I paid with cash. Imagine my surprise when no money/change was returned. The server kept the $7 change assuming it was the tip from my share...Disappointment #4. And finally the overall experience just isn 't what it used to be. The prices have increased, yet the portions are smaller. The time spent there just isn 't that special anymore. We have heard more and more unfavorable reviews about Temper Grille and sadly my friends and I have been disappointed the last 2 times we were there. Perhaps the owner/chef needs to review his own restaurant and look around to see all of the new homegrown eateries that are popping up getting attention. We have been fans of TG since it opened, but it needs to step up it 's game plan to stay competitive and well-liked. Otherwise people will find new places to spend their valuable time and money."

"It was Cinco de Mayo ... I read the reviews in the 'Inky and Mr. LeBan had this place on this list of preferences for Mexican food that does not replicate the franchisees of 'THE BELL. ' Reservations were made and the first challenge if you are not used to Philly streets is navigating your way to La Mula Terrca through an array of narrow one-way streets usually partially blocked by local residents ' cars. If you can find parking (On the street folks so work on your parallel parking before you head out to eat. within 3 or 4 blocks of their location by all means PARK!!!! We lucked out on our second trip circling the restaurant and parked within sight of this small corner eatery (Groups definitely won 't fit in. . La Mula Terca has limited seating but gives a warm welcome. On the day of our visit there were tables set outside along the street but we chose to eat indoors. So, here 's where the loss of the star happened ... if you read my opening few words ... IT WAS CINCO de MAYO ... and one would think, hope, and dream that a amazingly special restaurant featuring Mexican food would offer an extensive menu of choices (Ok, not as extensive as the many Americanized-Mexican restaurants around the nation but still a menu with perhaps more than a handful of options. but NOOOOOOOOOOO! I have to admit that the VERY LIMITED menu made choosing everything rather simple. I did ask if the corn for the Mexican street corn (elote loco was fresh and I was assured 'fresh and sweet ' so it was ordered! They did not have the highly recommended 'Spicy Mango Guacamole ' (See note about the limited Cinco de Mayo menu. so we went with regular GUAC Chips. So, this is merely a note but for some a concern. The really tasty and fresh GUAC is served with six large chips rather than a basket of small fried corn tortillas. SIX!!! But they worked for us because we could do the mathematical division necessary to calculate that meant 3 chips a piece and we did have spoons to deliver the excess yummy GUAC to our mouths. The Elote Loco was so fresh and so good ... every spec of seasoning was consumed and it was a predictor of the entrees to come! The Tres Tacos Spicy Mango Chicken provided perhaps one of the very best bites I have ever had when ordering tacos. YUMMYNESS heaven, which made me forget about the limited menu because we had struck gold. The second entree was the highly recommended (By the Philadelphia Inquirer 's food evaluator no less Churrasco Steak and it was deserving of all the accolades! As we headed back to the narrow streets of Philadelphia and whatever traffic nightmares might await navigating this community we knew the right choice had been made for Cinco de Mayo knowing it would be a good choice for dinner on any other occasion as well!"

"A delightful haze At this restaurant, we were plied with so many cocktails that, honestly, I cannot remember that much about it. I attended for an all expenses paid work sponsored evening of indulgence, the sort for which maximum alcohol consumption is required in order to ease the nerves. Stepping across the threshold, I blew a goodbye kiss to my ‘two drinks a week’ rule knowing that, with the beady eyes of my colleagues upon me, it would be most unseemly not to keep up. I began with the Indochine Martini; a drink that does have the color of something unmentionable but is, nonetheless, delicious with delightful citrus undertones. Asked by the waitress whether I would like another, it felt impolite not to opt for The Little Wing drawn, as I was, by the promise of Bourbon, St Germaine and ginger beer. Spotting a sudden drought in my glass, the waitress then inquired as to whether another alcoholic beverage would be to my liking. I acquiesced, and asked to see the menu. Shortly thereafter, out came the ex girlfriend sounding Lulu May. I can’t remember anything about this cocktail, unlike my ex, but some of my more alcohol savvy colleagues report it was delicious and that I gulped it down like a fish out of water. Preparing to leave, the waitress then asked whether we would need one more for the road. So, there was nothing for it but to request a Belle du Jour! This cocktail tasted delightful and had a beautiful flush red color the sort that communicates fertility and vitality. I stumbled out of this restaurant giggling, laughing and after having had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. And no, none of the cocktails made a re appearance later that evening. Success!"
