"Our server was great, he was energetic, funny, and even asked the cook to put extra mushrooms in our pasta in place of meat without us even asking which was a nice touch. However, the service was VERY slow for there only being 4-5 occupied tables in the restaurant. I would expect the service to be slow if the restaurant was packed, but the restaurant was almost empty. I assume this is due to a shortage of staffing, as it looked like our server was a server AND a bartender. I have lived in The Woodlands all my life and we used to love going to this Macaroni Grill. Yesterday was the first time we had been since probably a good 10 years. We used to love the steaming hot, soft bread; however, this time the bread was room temperature, dry, and the oil was not seasoned like it used to be where fresh black pepper is grated right in front of you. Additionally, I remember when our favorite dish, Pasta Milano, was $10 and a huge bowl with leftovers to take home. I was surprised to learn that Pasta Milano is now almost $20 and the portion is smaller. I'm guessing this is part of the recent price inflation, but if that's the case, then I would've liked the free bread and oil to at least be fresh to make up for the increase in the entrée prices."
