"The establishment is very clean and well-lit, and the ice cream is as delicious as you would expect from Carvel. However, unless you have 45 minutes to spare for an ice cream cone, I recommend driving to Shirley or Rocky Point—it would definitely be faster. It seems there are usually two young employees working, but only one is at the counter while the other is often in the back room. The store's rectangular layout makes it challenging to form a proper line, so customers end up spreading out along the counter. The staff tries to assist by saying, “I’ll help whoever is next,” but this leads to confusion since there’s no clear line or ticket system. The experience feels reminiscent of a high school cafeteria, partly due to the youth and inexperience of the staff. During my last two visits, I waited for 25 minutes without being served and ultimately left. I decided to drive to Shirley for a cone, and the six-mile trip was definitely quicker than waiting in Middle Island. As someone in the service industry myself, my advice to management is to have an adult supervising. Going forward, I will choose to drive to Shirley, Rocky Point, or Medford instead—it's simply more efficient."
