"I personally love coming here to get my coffee before work. It takes less time than a Starbucks drive through and several of the girls here are nice, though two of them not so much. I usually get the same drink and when I'm feeling adventurous I ask for adrink recommendation. One of them said well you usually get the Mexican Spiced Chocolate Latte, I think you should try the AdoboMorning. I was shocked that she remembered what I typically order and was helpful in trying something new. This is my favoritelittle coffee shop that, in my opinion, has a better atmosphere than Starbucks. You've got to try the biscochito donut, it's myfavorite and it's only $1!"

"After three years, I finally had the chance to visit this restaurant! We had dinner and kicked off our meal with some delightful espresso martinis. For appetizers, we ordered the truffle fries and the avocado stack, both of which were fantastic and came in generous portions! My boyfriend opted for the salmon sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed, while I chose a salad that was absolutely enormous! It seemed to have an entire avocado on top, along with a variety of veggies and nuts. It was incredibly tasty! For dessert, we shared the lemon shake-up drink and a slice of Gwendolyn's famous chocolate cake. The cake was not only stunning and glittery but also gigantic! The sea salt on top was a wonderful complement to the sweetness. We even got an extra piece to take home for my mom. The only reason I rated the service four stars instead of five was due to a bit of a delay after we were seated and while placing our drink and food orders. Our server was very kind, just a little slow. I’m looking forward to trying something else the next time I visit Carmel!"

"Coffee is great. Coffee cubes in iced latte prevent watery latte. Staff are mostly welcoming and the awesome ones will help you decide if you're unsure on what to try. Burritos are probably best in the early mornings. If you want the daily pastries try to get there before 11am. Peanut butter cookie is awesome good. The atmosphere is relaxing. Usually good tunes playing. Watch out when you exit through drive through. Kinda tricky. The best part is the coffee . Sometimes they have half off after 1pm. Very cool. Be sure to tip the kind baristas."

"If a restaurant has a brunch and all-day breakfast menu that you can't replicate at home, it's a sign of a kitchen that truly knows its craft. Every penny spent here is well worth it. The flavors in these dishes rival those from a Zagat-rated establishment—fresh, innovative, and distinctive. We tried just three dishes, and now we can’t wait to return and sample everything else on the menu. There are so many unique flavor combinations to explore. The hot chicken biscuit was even better than chicken and waffles, and the fried chicken was bursting with flavor. They also offered a cheesy grits breakfast dish featuring Korean BBQ-flavored bacon and kimchi; the balance of aromas was so intricate it was hard to pinpoint the spices, making it perfectly salty and sweet. Plus, they have this decadent mozzarella-filled cornbread served in a truffle cream sauce—it's meant to be shared, as it’s quite filling for two. It’s genuinely award-worthy. If you stick to a standard dish, it’s entirely yours to keep. I strongly recommend trying the non-traditional options on the menu. And don't miss out on their flavored coffee and latte selections; they have delightful peppermint and gingerbread lattes that are simply delicious."

"Do NOT come here for BOBA. Drinks do not taste good. There are so many other better places in OC. I ordered brown sugar boba milk tea, and it came out looking like regular milk tea. That is not how this classic drink is supposed to look! It 's supposed to have milk clearly on top, with brown sugar drizzled on the sides. Literally google brown sugar milk tea and you 'll see that there isn 't much variation. Now , this drink tasted like weird medicine mixed with milk tea. Absolutely horrible. We also ordered avocado smoothie, which had no avocado flavor at all! Just ice and condensed milk. We asked the employees if they used fresh avocado and they said yes, but I don 't believe them. For 12.50 for two drinks, what a waste of money. I couldn 't even drink what we ordered and I went to Little Saigon for better boba because my craving wasn 't fulfilled. I did not try corn dogs here, but it seems like other reviews think the food is good. So DO NOT COME HERE FOR BOBA, but maybe their corn dogs are better."

"This visit was a disappointment. I've brought my mom several times before, but I am not sure if we will be back. We made reservations and arrived on time. It took a bit to be acknowledged and several minutes for someone to come back and seat us. This location is very tiny, and we could see three open tables and there was no reason we should not have been seated right away. It then took several minutes for the server to show up. He was friendly but a little more concerned with giving a dramatic welcome than he was with attentive service. It took nearly 10 minutes to get an iced tea and coffee once he finally took our drink order, and I had to get up and find him to get refills. We ordered choose two combos which took a very long time to receive. In all, we were in the restaurant well over an hour before our meals were served. The cakes were beautiful, as always, but the portions were smaller. Hard to believe because they were still big, but it was noticeable, and we compared them to photos from past visits just to be sure. At $16 per slice, you expect a large slice. The coconut cake was very dry. The filing was amazing, but I don't know that it made up for a dry sponge. In the past we always ordered cake to take home but this time we didn't bother. The atmosphere is adorable, and my mom loves to go there but it cannot stand on charm alone. The focus needs to return to the cakes for which the restaurant is named and to improve the quality of service."

"If I could give zero stars I would. The woman taking our order was incredibly rude. Food was less than mediocre. Service was trash. She made rude comments about our baby spilling food on the ground and cleaned while we were still eating. She’s a baby, what do you expect? When we asked for two to-go boxes she asked “for what”? She was so courteous to two elderly people, gladly unlocked the restroom for them when 10 min earlier lectured me about making sure not to throw any paper in the toilet. Never coming back and I caution anyone planning to go too."

"Was a weird experience trying to get noticed in order to pay. Not busy, only 1 other person in line and not a single worker said hello or offered to help. I eventually just sat to eat the food and paid after but again I had to hail a person in order to actually pay. 100% could have just walked right out without paying, it's like they didn't even care. I had sticker shock at the price. $20 for the premade virtually unseasoned chicken avocado burger over totally regular raw baby spinach (where was the avocado??? . I appreciate the healthy convenience option (1* for concept but that's way too high, that's 100% markup or at least 50% higher than any other healthy premade lunch options in the area (or Manhattan . All the tables were dirty. I wouldn't come again. Great ideas, terrible execution."

"Have come a couple of times and enjoy it more each time. Initially I wasn 't a huge fan maybe ordered wrong thing, maybe they were figuring things out, but my shrimp was a little dry if tasty, and there was too much raw cabbage. I tried them again for another lunch and now breakfast and have loved it both times. The food is fresh and tasty and you feel good about eating it. Even donuts or muffins which I usually avoid feel indulgent and not guilty. The space is light and great for hanging out except for being in a strip mall. The College Menu makes me laugh will have to try those out. Perhaps only downside is the price, but I feel you get your money 's worth good food isn 't cheap. Portions are small but dense. Maybe a lumberjack wouldn 't be satisfied here but my husband and I never leave hungry. And I don 't feel like I need to go work out after a meal here. You can 't put a price on that!"

"Love the crew here! It’s always happy vibes. This is my weekly dine in spot for fresh lunch options. I love the avocado toast with two eggs (only comes with one) — highly recommend trying it with balsamic vinaigrette, the mediterranean summer mix is also amazing (ask for extra lemon and herb dressing — it is fire) and the wellness tea with extra ginger for some kick. "I discovered this restaurant through the Too Good To Go app. It was a great deal - I got 3 drinks in total, including a lemonade, a milkshake, and a regular tea for $5.99. The service was quick and efficient, and I enjoyed all of the drinks. They also have fruit available for purchase.
