"I visited this restaurant on a Friday afternoon shortly after it opened for the day and I was seated immediately. It was nice to enjoy the restaurant when it was nearly empty before the large crowds (and noise) arrived. The atmosphere was inviting and warm.The staff was excellent. Everyone was very friendly, attentive, and efficient.To start, I ordered the Mango Salad. It was fresh, crispy, filling and delicious. For my main, I ordered the Half Kai Yang (chicken) with Massaman Curry. The flavor the curry was delicious and the chicken was tender. The portion of the meal was very large I had to take most of it home and then I was able to split it into two small meals. Definitely an excellent value for the money.Overall a very good experience!"

"Bukom Cafe is a place I first visited when I came to Washington, D.C. in 2016. I was immediately drawn in by the vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music right at the entrance. Guests were dancing, and it felt as though the regulars were part of an extended family. The energy was infectious, and the food was outstanding. Fast forward to 2019, when a good friend surprised me with a visit to Bukom, unaware that I had already been there before. Since then, I've returned five times, and I can confidently say that the food consistently impresses. I've tried various West African restaurants throughout the DMV area, but none come close to matching Bukom. Although the Covid pandemic brought changes, the restaurant still offers dining with limited seating, and the food remains unparalleled! They never fail to impress! My favorites are the Okra soup with Banku, Beef Suya, and the Spicy Pepper Soup!"

"Went for the monthly dinner. Our table wasn't ready, servers were polite, but disorganized. Food just okay. Waited an hour for any food to be served , and it was evident everything was made ahead of time . Chicken paprikash was ok but greasy. The food was not served at the same time to our party of 4. 2 of us had to wait 10 minutes while the others ate. Disorganized !! We asked to use the restroom and were given access to the store attached to the bakery. The restroom had no toilet paper or hand towels. When I told the server, he didn't seem to care. For a bakery, you would think they would have served a breadbasket with the $35 pp dinner. But none was served. We did see the waiter give a bag of rolls to the next table to take home . We weren't offered any .. The server who took our bill tried to get us to buy 2 loaves of bread she had in the back. Really!?! Would we go back ? NO!"

"Not as many options as big bakeries, but still great. It has a small storefront so it's hard to socially distance from other customers but the staff is nice and helps you fairly quickly. It's clean and they have some very cute treats. I got an adorable Red Velvet Cupcake and a delicous pecan tart. Their other buns and cakes also look very good and fresh. They give you your treats packaged up and even have branded bags that fit their packages well. They also have cute little toppers for their tarts. Overall, a good experience :"

"The food at the restaurant was delicious, with items like guava pastry, currants roll, coconut bake, and salt fish all tasting great. The fish cakes were a bit small and dark at first, but after reheating them in the oven, they were alright. There was a minor issue with my order, but the store manager Jordan handled it with understanding and courtesy. Despite initially being upset about the mistake, Jordan quickly resolved the situation, leaving me very satisfied as a customer. I would definitely order from Allans bakery again, thanks to Jordan's kind and efficient service. Overall, the food was tasty and the service was excellent. I would definitely return for another meal."
