"Bukom Cafe is a place I first visited when I came to Washington, D.C. in 2016. I was immediately drawn in by the vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music right at the entrance. Guests were dancing, and it felt as though the regulars were part of an extended family. The energy was infectious, and the food was outstanding. Fast forward to 2019, when a good friend surprised me with a visit to Bukom, unaware that I had already been there before. Since then, I've returned five times, and I can confidently say that the food consistently impresses. I've tried various West African restaurants throughout the DMV area, but none come close to matching Bukom. Although the Covid pandemic brought changes, the restaurant still offers dining with limited seating, and the food remains unparalleled! They never fail to impress! My favorites are the Okra soup with Banku, Beef Suya, and the Spicy Pepper Soup!"

One of my favorite spots in DC! I've started visiting regularly, and I always enjoy myself. The food is excellent, the staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is inviting. They occasionally have live music, which adds even more to the great vibe.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and I found the food to be truly delightful. The staff were very attentive and friendly, making sure all our needs were met. Despite the restaurant being busy and having only two employees on duty, they performed excellently. I would definitely recommend this place again. Plus, the music was enjoyable and family-friendly.

Absolutely worth it! As someone with Ghanaian roots, I was extremely impressed with the food and highly recommend this restaurant for its fantastic West African cuisine. If you're planning to visit, try to arrive a bit earlier in the evening; the beef stew was delicious, although some pieces were a little tough. My friends and I were thoroughly satisfied with our experience—the waitress was incredible and even gave me some gari to take home. You truly made this birthday boy happy with your exceptional service, along with the live music and top-notch decor. I’d give it a 9.5 out of 10 and would recommend it to everyone!
