"this place has been well over a decade. it was always a fixed place for the standard vegan sushi (vegan roll, avocado roll, etc). about a year or so before, they added the vegan hulk roll that is good. they have different other items that are either vegan, or can be vegan modified: sticky frits, edamame, edamame hummus, miso suppe, ano solitary, mixed vegetables, and sautéed spade (used to spinat, but the change to spade). hibachi fried rice can be made vegan, just don't forget to leave the eggs. they can also be veganized soba or udon nude dishes. this CWE location is an ideal place to hang out, especially during warmer weather months. Note that there was a recent price hike, with some directed jumps up to $8 more!"

"I've always ordered the delivery here for years. I've never eaten. This time I decided to change things and see how it was to eat in the restaurant. I don't think we ever order the delivery of them, I'd rather go to the restaurant! The service was wonderful, fast and very pleasant. The food was just as delicious as I would get it. It was such an amazing experience to eat there that I now prefer to go home at the meeting! Everyone was so welcoming and warm. My son LOVED the fish tanks they had. This is my new favorite place to eat. Can't wait to go back with my friend and eat sushi. China A is amazing"

"eating was very good! the host who sat us was so helpful to explain his ordering process, it is all done on their handy. service was good and our server were very attentive. my friend and I hadn't seen us for months, and because the terrace wasn't crowded, we stayed up and just enjoy any other company. it was hot and damp with a small brise and after two refills on our water they cut us off. we had paid our register card, so I think they didn't want to be harassed by us anymore. the restaurant was not busy, it was about 1:30, and no amount, so I am not sure why a refill was on our water. I recommend this place, but try not to overlay her welcome I got a response to my review that I thought was very sincere. it is caught in the photos. so I added another star. next time I visit I'm sure I'll give it 5 stars"

"My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Sushi Xuan Asian Grill. The service was excellent from start to finish. We ordered vegetable tempura, pad Thai noodles with shrimp, salmon sushi rolls, tuna sushi rolls, and egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. The tempura was unlike any I've had before, with a delicious sweet taste from the double or triple coating. The sushi was perfectly bite-sized and the soups were flavorful and MSG-free. The pad Thai noodles were also delightful. In addition to the amazing food, we made a new friend named Melissa who was incredibly friendly and kind. Our waitress was also very pleasant. The restaurant was clean and we will definitely return. I plan to take pictures next time."

"EDITED SAME NIGHT; PLEASE READ BOTTOM FOR UPDATE Be wary of All You Can Eat weekend dinner service. I took my mom, sister, and best friend here for the All You Can Eat because me and my best friend had been before and it was fantastic. We always came before during the week in the early evening because it fit our schedule, but due to time constraints this time we came on a Friday evening at 6pm. We were quick to be seated, got our drinks order in and that took just a few short minutes. We put in our first food order and it took nearly 20 minutes before we received our green salad, seaweed salad, and two pieces of nigiri (cold sushi). The female server set the food down quickly and left just as swiftly before we could ask about the other food items we had ordered. Another 15 minutes and we received another part of the food we'd ordered (calamari, shrimp skewers, and only 1 of 3 takoyaki we'd originally ordered). We managed to snag our server as she sat 2 more tables in her section to order some more food, hoping that ordering it early would help, but to no avail, the wait was just as gruelling. Out of all the food we'd ordered across being there for 2 and a half hours, we had barely received half, while the tables who were sat and ordered after us continuously received their food. Our server repeated the items we ordered back to us every time, but when asked about it after waiting 20-25 minutes she couldn't seem to find our order (this happened twice). After my mom and sister got fed up with waiting and wanted to leave, I asked to talk to a manager who, granted, was helpful and took 20% off our order and let us take the last small order of food we had put in (that we had been waiting 30 minutes for) to go with us. I'm genuinely disappointed because the food is AMAZING and me and my best friend love coming here. I feel the small female server doesn't really care too much about the patrons, and if we come back and are given her as a server again, I will politely ask for another. Based on other reviews I can concur that the wait times are egregious on the weekend evenings, at least on Fridays. EDIT: We got home and sat down to eat the take-home sushi and specifically my 2 pieces of Nigiri had big smears of wasabi on the bottom of each piece, which I didn't notice until I had split a piece in half and shared it with my 11-year old brother. The ice cream they had put into containers, were put in the bottom of the bag and noticed when I took the other food out that they weren't closed all the way and the ice cream had melted and spilled all over and soaked the bag. An incredible act of pettiness that was completely unnecessary. I won't be returning."

"Sloppily put together sushi rolls, with barely any fillings and super thick outer laying of rice . The rice was mushy and sweet and definitely not sticky sushi rice. The “wasabi” tasted like horseradish and not wasabi. The tiny amount of fish we did get tasted off and ultimately we threw everything out after a few bites because it all just tasted..odd. Food: 1"

"Long But Worth Reading? I came to this location on 12/06 for Dinner. We first waited 20 mins to be seated (to be expected), the front person seated us w/ another family after us saying multiple times were NOT together. I know at hibachi you sit w/ ppl youdon?t know sometimes; but this party was Large. My family I had to squeeze in keep shifting around. After waiting another 20mins for our drink order, we were told we had to move to another table bc the one we were at was broken?. This is what?sIMPORTANT; after being seated I saw signs that says Hibachi experience is an additional 18%, using a debit/credit is anadditional 3.5% (who uses cash in 2022) When I asked why 18%, I was told because the Chefs don?t make much this is their tip.Speaking as a Chef, I think it?s absurd that the customers has to pay 18% more, bc this establishment is TOO CHEAP to pay theircooks a living wage. (YES I BELIEVE IN TIPPING, But I should decide how much to tip) FYI, Before you order you?re already paying21.5%? The Chef was nice, friendly professional. The soup was very good packed with flavor. The entree was good, the veggieswas tender. Due to the 21.5% I can?t see myself coming back?"

"I visited this restaurant while spending time with family and was craving hibachi, so I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I expected my food to be cooked in front of me, but my hunger got the better of me, and we chose to stay anyway. To my surprise, I was handed a bottle of yum yum sauce that looked like it was meant for mustard, which made me a bit apprehensive. However, I must say…it was absolutely delicious! Everything was fantastic, and I couldn't believe how good the food was. It completely changed my perception of the place. It has a lovely atmosphere, and if I lived nearby, I would definitely make it a weekly spot!"

"We ordered sushi, beer, sashimi, dandan noodles, and tuna tataki. Service was excellent and the spicy tuna roll was quite good. Sashimi was serviceable and the eel in particular was quite nice as a change of pace from the usual options I see for sashimi platters. Unfortunately both the tataki and Dan Dan noodles were quite bad. The tataki was extremely thin, which resulted in the uncooked centers being very dry. I don't know if this is an effort to skimp on the amount of tuna used but it ruined the dish. The noodles as a whole were likely the worst part it was closer to a chow mein or lo mein and frankly still managed to be incredibly tasteless with zero heat. Considering dan dan noodles are typically a numbing Szechuan dish this did not seem to resemble it in any way, and the only flavor that came through were the bell peppers (which don't belong in the dish in the first place). Stay away from this iteration until they rework it. Overall I would come back for the sushi rolls and nothing else."

"Like many vegan Thai restaurants in Hollywood, the food here is decent. However, I experienced the absolute worst and rudest service I've encountered anywhere in the USA. The waiter was inconsiderate, confrontational, and overly aggressive. I brought my concerns to the owner's attention, but based on her poor response, I can only assume that this was a case of nepotism in staffing. I won't be coming back here, especially since there are countless other vegan Thai options in the area."

"I had high expectations for what was advertised as a delightful Vietnamese dining experience, but it turned out to be a bland Americanized version of the cuisine. I'm giving it two stars because the bar area is quite nice, and the location is excellent. The appetizers, such as the fried rolls and steamed buns, were enjoyable and raised our hopes for the main courses. Unfortunately, the papaya salad that followed was oddly prepared and lacked flavor. Anyone familiar with papaya salad knows it should have a balance of sour, spicy, and sweet, but this dish was completely tasteless. The ribs were drenched in an excessively sweet, sticky sauce, and the curry was watery, primarily tasting of bell peppers. I won’t delve into the details of the other dishes. While I appreciate their efforts, this place really doesn’t feel like an authentic Vietnamese restaurant."

"We took our grandma there for her birthday because it's her favorite restaurant. The service was excellent, and our waitress was wonderful. The chef who cooked in front of us was fantastic; he had everyone laughing and enjoying themselves. It was far from boring, unlike some other places we've been to. When it was time to sing happy birthday, they surprised us by bringing out drums. We had an amazing time! It's definitely a place I would visit again."

"I loved it. I know my fish and this place is #1. The hardest working sushi cook, too. I saw that the man delivered an order every 2 minutes, I sat there for 40 minutes. If I'm back in this area, I'll always come back here! My buddy has the beef teriyaki and he loved it!!"

"New customer and ordered Pad Thai w/ tofu and spice level 6/10 to go. Very reasonable waitfor walk in. Friendly service and above all food was excellent!! I'm not a super picky eater but last few places had sub par pad thai and poor spice levels. I honestly feel like the spice level (6/10) was on point for my expectations. Would def come back to try other dishes and update."

"I recently ordered lunch from this establishment for quick around the corner grab. The Pad Thai was delicious but a bit overcooked, the noodles were sticking together, the chicken satay was very tasty, also got a small order of chicken fried rice on the side. Overall delicious Thai food and i would definitely order again."

"Attempted to dine in shortly before our train we had to catch. We walked in and it was a very nice, kind of upscale dining area, and there were only two other parties dining in, since it was on the earlier side of the evening. We placed our order and planned to eat for a few minutes, but also get to-go boxes and the check as soon as the food came out.But 20 minutes later, our food still hadn't come out and we weren't going to be able to dine in at all. We asked to have our food packaged in to-go containers instead of plated, and paid the bill so we could just leave with our food once it came out. Another 10 minutes later, still no food and it was coming down to the wire. Finally, we couldn't wait any longer and we needed to be on the way out the door to get to our train. Just as we were getting up to tell our server to just cancel our order and issue me a refund, she came out with our bag of food. Relieved that we would still have dinner and be able to make our train, we thanked her as we took the bag and made our way to the train. We ate our food on the train. My boyfriend said his Pad See Ew was decent, but I wasn't terribly impressed with my Drunken Noodles. It was greasy and overcooked. The noodles were one mushy pile. And barely any flavor except just spicy (it's supposed to be a spicy basil sauce, but I could not taste any basil).I didn't see any reason our food should have taken that long to get out to us when they didn't seem too terribly busy. Maybe they had a lot of to-go orders, too, but there was only one person who came in to pick up a to-go order while we were there. Our server was very nice and understanding, and she did her best to get the kitchen to get our food out sooner, but I guess there wasn't much she could do. (One review here said something about how good food takes extra time, but this wasn't good enough to warrant that long of a wait. I've had better Drunken Noodles and only needed to wait 10 minutes at peak dinner rush.)We should have picked another place for dinner."

"It was my first time there in two years And the food was still good. I always sit at the sushi bar and when doing so I’m always given a complementary appetizer, which today was crab tempura salad. The food was good and didn’t take too much time tocome out. I’m giving it a four star because on first arriving we were seated and left unattended for almost 10 minutes beforewe were even given water. I also didn’t like when I asked the waitress if I could have my sushi with the rice on the outsideof the nori instead of the inside she told me it would be an up charge. This is something I’ve never heard of at anyrestaurant, so I immediately bypassed her and went straight to the sushi guy and he told me that that was not correct, that theyhave never done that before. So I’m not sure if she just made that up off the top of her head for whatever reason or wasattempting to get extra money from me. It wasn’t a really busy day and there were plenty of waitresses to meet the need of thecustomers but they weren’t really attentive either. Other than that I would still visit again but it wouldn’t be my firstchoice"
