"I made a mistake ordering from this restaurant. I was actually looking for Panda Express on Uber Eats and ended up at this place. Despite seeing mixed reviews on Yelp, I decided to give it a try thinking it couldn't be that bad. I ordered the shrimp Chow Mein combination Special and the General Tso Chicken (with white rice medium spicy). The General Tso Chicken was amazing, and I was pleased to be able to choose my spice level. I ended up mixing the chicken with the Chow Mein and it tasted great together. The portions were generous, and I had leftovers for the weekend. Overall, it was a good experience!"

"A true gem of Arlington. We've lived in the Atown for 12 years and Mr Sushi has been our go-to... our rock for the entire time. The straight-ahead, unpretentious Japanese menu never fails to satisfy. I write this very review as I am polishing off some salmon, shrimp, and unagi nigiri with some oshitashi (spinach), edamame, and shumai on the side. Delicious! When you order togo they are always polite and friendly on the phone. They get your order right and they pack it up really nicely. When you go into the restaurant the servers are friendly and efficient. They get to you quickly and the food usually comes quickly. One thing I really like is the ambience... the lighting is subdued but not dim and they play really good jazz... not smooth, adult contemporary, mind you... but quality stuff that compliments the menu beautifully. Obviously, I am a big fan of Mr Sushi... which, despite its sort of laughable name, is a very solid, tasty, cozy, friendly place to eat. 5 stars"

"I used to live less than a mile from Asian Potato and it was one of our families favorite restaurants. We went there a few times a month and always loved it. The food was great and so was the service. We moved out of state a few years ago and while in townthis weekend we went out of our way to make sure to visit. We put in a carry out order, waited almost 30 minutes to get ourorder, once we got our order we drove all the way across town to where we were staying. After an already very long day with avery hungry family we took the food out of the bag to find 1 entire meal missing, chicken that was not cooked enough and wasstill cold, burnt crispy cream cheese wantons and the two orders that we did actually get tasted horrible. No flavor and like ithad been cooked in a burnt pan. After calling the store I was told by the manager/owner that he personally cooked my food andthat they had done nothing wrong and that I was out of luck. He was rude and cared nothing about charging me $60.00 for garbagethat was thrown away. They have lost a lifetime customer and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone again. Thanks fornot caring about your customers. What a horrible experience!"

"I am a picky eater so I never venture out to far but I must say, this place was DELICIOUS! So much so I thought about having it again tonight! Date night for two with the hubby; We ordered a bottle of Mia Rose Wine; Pretty good, it is from Spain and sweet enough for my liking! We ordered Soup Dumplings; AMAZING!!!!!!! Literally the best thing I have had in a long time. For those of you who are like me and have no idea what half this food is- the soup dumplings have pork inside with a broth and ours were perfect! Dinner; 1 plate of Sweet and Sour Sesame Chicken and 1 plate of Orange Chicken; I have never had such delicious crispy chicken with a nice glazed sauce such as this. Chinese takeout has nothing on this place! The portions were an entire plate worth, so much that we took some home! Each plate comes with steamed rice and if you eat all your rice, they give you more! So a bottle of wine, an appetizer and 2 dinner plates with unlimited rice and enough food to take home was about $56.00 total. I have paid a lot more at a worse restaurant with mediocre food, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer and terrible service. We will definitely be making this a favorite date night place because the food was superb! Also- our waiter spoke pretty decent English and took the time to explain what was in each dish we asked about as best he could! I can always appreciate someone taking their time to make us feel good about eating there. YUMM!!!!"

"This is my favorite place for Chinese food and such a jewel! The main woman who works here always treats me so nice and friendly. She is unbelievable and always works nonstop to serve her hungry males, she is the real MVP. Here are pictures from three different meals (I recommend every dish I tried! plus the current menu so. You can find out about the prices. The first meal, I got crispy spicy fish, garlic cucumbers and victories in chilli oil. If your garlic lover like me, the garlic Gurke Veggie dish is for you as it is full of minced garlic and dressed in sesame oil. Its so delicious and tasteful I got it several times (see second picture! The crispy seasoned fish is literally one of the best dishes I've ever had! Its deep fried pieces of a kind of white fish that is super delicate and moist on the inside and crispy crispy on the outside. Instead of being served with a sauce, it is sown in the most tasteful combination of things like dried red chili, Zilantro rod/life, roasted peanuts, chopped garlic and sesame seeds. It's so good, I got it twice (see second picture! and it comes in a chicken version and tofu version that I have to try! In another visit to this incredible restaurant I got the Xinjiang Style Pork Fried Ribs and the Scallion Pancakes based on another recommendation. The pork ribs are $20 and are so worth that they are a specialty of North China. Packed a huge stamp when I come to taste, I think they were marinated in a combination of soy sauce, 5 spice powder, and fish sauce and then fried with chopped garlic and roasted sesame seeds. Very recommended! If you want a delicious Chinese food you will take away from the traditional lo my and general tsao's (not that it is something wrong with it! "Edit 2023 I 've been going here for 8 years and have enjoyed many wonderful meals and fun times here. I chose to do a nice birthday lunch in an upscale nice atmosphere. Instead I got an obnoxious, drunk bunch of patrons that were paying their bill when we arrived. I thought about asking to move or go somewhere else but I figured since they were paying they would be on they 're way soon. Two hours later, they are still on there and bring even more obnoxious than when we arrived. What a terrible experience. The manager said he would not do anything about it except try to move you after we 'd order dessert. So many others in the restaurant were also inconvenienced by the obnoxious patrons based on the exasperated looks of others every time the lady screamed in laughter. Welcome to a world where being obnoxious in a fine dining restaurant is more valuable than the 10 other tables in the room. We 'll think long and hard about eating here again and likely won 't. Old review below. My husband and I have gone for lunch and dinner both were excellent. Great children 's menu at a reasonable price. Ice cream from local shop Johnson 's is good."

"I live in the neighborhood and had heard great things about this place. Unfortunately, our service was lackluster. The food itself was tasty, and if the service had matched, I could have easily given it four stars. The food was delivered to our table, and the next time we saw a server was when they brought the bill. I needed more water, a beer—anything—but I didn't receive anything until I got home. It would have been nice if someone had checked in after about 5-10 minutes to see if everything was okay, but that didn't happen. And the restaurant wasn't even busy!"

"The storefront is unusual and doesn’t resemble a typical restaurant, and inside, it tends to get quite hot in the summer without air conditioning. There aren’t many tables available for dining. We ordered the Sesame Chicken, and the portion size was generous enough for two people. The fried rice was fantastic and included delicious fried tofu, which we really enjoyed. "Someone recommended this place to us. I'm not too familiar with Rockford but if I'm ever back I will stop by this place. Service was awesome. Hostess sat us right away. Server was there a couple min later and she was great. Believe her name was Kendra. We got our drinks. Smoked old fashioned was good, a little sweeter than I make them but still good. The fries with truffle salt were wonderful. The pizza was fantastic. A nice change from the usual Midwest flat crust or deep dish. Crust was delicious, and fresh mozzarella. It's a 12 in pizza, I probably could have eaten it all but I was left with 2 slices and my wife ate half of hers. Made for a delicious breakfast the next morning."

"I ordered the pork soup dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, stir-fried rice noodles with beef, and the house special boiled fish fillet. The pork soup dumplings were filled with a lot of broth, but both the dumplings and the soup were overly salty. The pan-fried dumplings arrived sitting in a pool of oil, which was unappealing. The sauce of the Dan Dan noodles was also too salty, though the texture of the noodles was good. The stir-fried rice noodles lacked flavor and contained only a few slices of beef. On a positive note, the house special boiled fish fillet had the right level of spice, and the fish was tender. It was served with black fungus and bean sprouts as well. Overall, this dish was decent; however, the rice that accompanied it tasted stale. In summary, the overall quality of the food did not meet my expectations, and I do not plan on returning."

"What Peony Pavilion 2.0 seems to be has arrived and I think it is an improvement. The area now has too many Asian fusion sites and PPs change to a simpler and more ethically deeper menu (e.g. jellyfish, cattle keeping) is welcome. The abandoned sushi bar is not a big loss. They don't all try to please, but they're sure they're happy. However, I can understand why someone who expects PP 1.0 would be disappointed, especially since the menu on OpenTable is no longer active. The one on Weebly is about right with the exception of the sushi. I had the sizzling tofu with red pepper and egg and it was fantastic as the cucumber salad to begin things. Service was friendly and efficient, remembering the old Sunny Garden."

"I initially had a great experience at this restaurant; the staff was very friendly. I ordered egg foo young, but things took a disappointing turn when I got home and tried to add some sauce – it was overly salty. I went back to the restaurant to discuss the issue, and while the staff member acknowledged the sauce was indeed salty, he refused to offer a solution, like a replacement. Despite the many positive reviews this place has received, I won’t be returning due to this experience. It was my first and last visit. I recommend avoiding late-night visits, as you might end up with a subpar meal and won’t be able to voice your concerns until the next day. My wife enjoys Chinese food, but we'll just wait until my usual restaurant is open again."

"Five stars all around! This review focuses solely on the food, as we haven’t had the chance to dine in the restaurant yet (but we definitely plan to, since we often order takeout and delivery). The food is incredible! Without a doubt, it’s the best Asian cuisine I’ve ever had. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, as if it’s made to order from scratch (though I can't say for sure). There’s an abundance of flavor, and the portions are generous. The turnaround time for our orders has been impressively quick. We discovered Modern Fusion while looking for a sushi place that also offered Chinese food because my husband prefers Chinese, while I lean towards sushi. Modern Fusion’s Chinese dishes have actually made me fall in love with Chinese food—they're that good! The sushi is, hands down, the best in the area!"
