"This restaurant was absolutely incredible. We ordered the Carpaccio, which was a revelation, and the Duck Ragu Lasagnette. It was so incredible, we ordered the chef's cookbook on the spot. The Sommelier absolutely nailed the recommendation, matching it perfectly with our meal and spot on the budget mark we suggested. Our server was brilliant, and highly knowledgeable of the menu. She had obviously tried all of the offerings and gave her opinions when asked in a very helpful way. We will be back."

"We were three adults with two (nicely dressed and well mannered) kids at 5 in the evening on a Sunday. The restaurant was 1/2 empty and the rude hostess shoved us at a tall bar table in between a service station and the kitchen door. After asking someone other than the hostess were moved to a regular table. The waitstaff was either overwhelmed or just terribly trained. Service took forever, orders were wrong, and the music was unnecessarily loud. BBQ brisket tasted like it was pounded with a mallet and soaked in liquid smoke. The one good thing I can say about this place is that the onion rings were incredible."

"I was in Chicago for a conference and the organizers ordered a Kosher lunch from Shallots Bistro. They ordered the menu item 'The Bomb ' it was a pretzel bun filled with all sorts of deli meats and sauces. It was quite delicious, which is good because they ordered it 4 times that week! One of the evenings my wife and I went out to Shallots and we had a wonderful time, the steaks were expertly prepared and drinks were refreshing and the dessert quite interesting. Great place for a special night out."

"First time lunchers here!! We frequent Uncle Bacalas for dinner which is always fabulous. Lunch hands down no brainer. Run don’t walk and give it a go! Their lunch specials are delicious large portions of yumminess! The price is amazing for the abundance of food you’ll get. You’ll take some home not to worry it’s 2 meals in one! "We had an amazing server in Steve who answered all of our questions with precise details and a tremendous sense of humor. The food was truly mind blowing. One of the tastiest Crostones I have ever had and my wife had delicious octopus. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked (medium rare) and so tasty, yet simple. Steve picked the perfect wine--a Negroamaro that was 12 years old. And it was extremely reasonable. Thank you to Steve and the entire staff of Gola for an extraordinary meal."

"Enjoyed this spot very much for a nice dinner. Pasta was excellent (perhaps a trifle more al dente than I like but well within the range of good! and my martini nero was delicious and deliciously cold. Will definitely be back. Should also note that server was 100% accommodating when we asked to change posts so a guest w/ hearing loss could hear better could not have been nice or more helpful. And wait staff was great, too."

"absolutely terrible customer service. I have never written a negative review for a restaurant, but we came with a reservation about 17.30 clock before a hannover theatre production that we visited. I strongly recommend that they do not go to this restaurant in a night in which the theatre has a popular production. it took almost 1 hour for me to receive my beer, and that was after several requests from our waiter and a conversation with the manager. the food was good after that. it was ridiculous. we always said everyone was there for the theater and that our food comes. I ordered the hummus plate with a sweetheart. the vegetables consist of cut gurke and three olives. very disappointing. when the bill came, there was no adjustment for our inconvenience. we asked about the waiter went and spoke to the manager, and he came back and said there was no adjustment. unnecessary to say we will not return to this restaurant. fortunately, the hannover theatre production has formed for our rocky start in our evening."

"The staff there was amazing! We had a bridal brunch for my bestfriend and from the staff to the food everything was hands down great. Ann was amazing in helping me to reserve the room pick the menu and ensure everything was set for party day! I was impressed that they even had a wide color selection of napkins to choose from. I even liked that though we brought our own decorations, they offered to look to see if they had anything else that we may need in their stock. They ensured we had enough tables for gifts. Guests. And desserts. I also liked that we were able to bring our own desserts. I honestly wish I could remember our waitress?s name, because she kept ME sane while I?m trying to decorate the room and she?s trying so her job haha. When guests arrived and the Bride arrived our waitress was on top of her game with ensuring everything was perfect for us all. The mimosas were never empty which the guests LOVED! There was also a great selection of juices for the mimosas- not just orange juice. The food was amazing. I could probably eat The white breakfast pizza every day and not get tired of it. So so so good ! I wish I could say more, but I don?t want to make this too long."

"We had a reservation DAYS in advance. First issue was one of our apps was not put in the computer. When the entrées came out, there was at least a 30 minute spread between the first and the last plate, so half of us were watching the rest eat. They did not have a bun for a chicken sandwich, which they did not tell us until 25 minutes after we ordered. We had 3 orders of scallops, 2 of them came out before everything and the third was the last dish out which makes me believe they did not put that in either. There were other tables that got there 45 minutes after us and had food first. Just very unorganized, which is a shame because all of the food was phenomenal. For parties under 4 people I can see the service being better, however it was so unorganized I would not recommend for groups over 5 people."

"My colleagues and I had reservations at 12 noon and were seated straight away. As the Burmese restaurant is in the area, we really looked forward to this experience. While we were in no hurry the restaurant was. Drinks were ordered and they urged to have a meal order at the same time. We wait to order the food until the drinks have been brought to us. We ordered the Burmese beef and goat stew as well as the Moh Hin Ga (fish noodle soup). The sauces on the meat stews were good, but not spectacular! The stew was definitely not tender. If you like tough meat then these dishes are for you. In addition, the Moh Hin Ga lacked taste and in the words of my colleagues: "I would not order it again". Also soft drinks and iced tea and refilled for free. Given the rush and subpar experience, won't be returning. Given their great Yelp reviews, it seems like there are plenty of customers out there who like it. Maybe we only visited them on a bad day or the normal cook wasn't around that day ..."

"First of all the lighting is extremely dim making reading the menu nearly impossible. Second, the noise level was very high. Sounded more like a bar than fine dinning atmosphere. Finally, the waitress told us she was new and in training. She did not have the waitress training her with her. It was very obvious the mew waitress was very nervous and unsure of herself, like she had received little to no training and was not ready to be on her own. She did take our drink order, but after 15 min she returned to take our for order even though we had still not received our drinks. She went to check on or drink order. We could see her fumbling with order slips with the bartender. It seemed as though our order was never turned in and certainly never followed up on. She returned saying our drinks would be ready in a few min. All this being said, this was not a good experience. We ended up canceling our drinks and found somewhere else to dine."

"We had a reservation for 7 and we're not seated until 7:40. Although apologetic, they did not offer a complimentary drink or appetizer for waiting patiently. The beet salad was tasty and enough for 2. I ordered the special stuffed haddock and lobster ravioli, which ended up coming with a salad. The waitress asked if I wanted to forgo the salad instead of offering a reasonable alternative. I had the salad which was good. we waited a long time before our entrees came out. We were not served bread or even offered bread. The meal came out and I can say for the price, I was disappointed with the portion of haddock and the lobster ravioli were warm at best. the flavor was good, but barely warm ravioli was very disappointing. my wife got the cioppino, which was full of seafood, but again, no bread, no crostinI. The waitress was nice, but not very attentive. By the end of the meal we were so disappointed we didnt even bother to stay for dessert or a drink. We will not be returning. The price of the meal for 2 people was absolutely not worth it. Save your money and go somewhere else."

"The Waterfront restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, but the service was a bit slow. We started with a classic old fashioned cocktail which took a long time to arrive, but was well made and presented nicely. Instead of ordering entrees, we chose to share three appetizers. The Brie had good flavor but was not melted inside the filo, which was disappointing. The bread served with the appetizers was too crunchy and seemed to be the same for all dishes. The meatballs were overcooked and burnt on one side, indicating they may have been left in a crock pot all day without stirring. The poached lobster was served with the same crunchy bread and was accompanied by a jar of butter substance. Unfortunately, the lobster was salty, had a fishy taste, and was rubbery. It did not pair well with the bread and we would not recommend it. The Austin Hope wine was reasonably priced and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. We plan to return to try other entrees and perhaps take a boat ride when the weather is warmer."

"Went for Downtown Dining Week. This restaurant was on the $35 list, however service was significantly below that level. There was a long wait between courses, but plates were not cleared off the table until the next course arrived. Our server appeared very disinterested in our table. It also took a long time for drink orders to be delivered. New silverware was not provided and I was explicitly asked to remove my fork from the plate so the server could clear the plate. The food was decent to good, but nothing special. None of these issues would be that bad had they not all occurred or had the restaurant been on the $25 list instead."

"La Capannina is located in a small strip of shopping center along the lively Applegarth Road. There is a decent amount of parking and there is a very nicely furnished dining room with a lot of seating. There is a beautiful mosaic image that decorates the wall and there is a separate seating area if you are in a hurry and just want to grab some slices. You also have a wide selection of pizza/toppings to choose from the counter (a certain plus). I ordered a piece of plain, a pasta disc and a grandma disc. The plane was nothing spiritual. Only your average slice with lots of cheese and a good, fluffy crust. The pasta was also on average. The vodka sauce tasted decent and the slice was very full. The Grandma pizza is where this spot really shines. The pane has a beautiful, crispy base with tasteful, clobular tomato sauce. The Mozzarella is fresh and accompanied by a primed parmesan. Overall, this is not a bad place and if you are a fan of Grandma Pizza... you will not be disappointed."
