"Before placing my order I asked if the chicken was fowl because some places use fowl which tends to be dry and hard. She said that it was moist and not dry. I had to tell her not to put chicken back part pieces in my plate. Like why are restaurants selling that as a pieces of chicken. She was wrong about the chicken being moist. It's extremely dry and bland and tastes like it's old and was not cooked today. Look at the so called plantains.The chicken is dry and hard and unedible. I wasted my money. Don't waste yours."

"Holy yummy buffet! So we stopped here after we received a family local recommendation and it was sooo good. Red beans and rice was very tasty, they had plantains, fish, vegetables, cabbage, and various meats (chicken, pork and more). The BBQ chicken andCurry chicken was my favorite!!!! The flavoring was mild because everyone has to eat it but, it was good enough for my palletand oh so tender. Red sauce was delicious too. We wish they had some type of bread like roti or even a cornbread with thebuffet. Check this place out! Pricing was good too! They got a 4 because of the bathrooms were dirty, someone did not fill upthe soap dispenser and just left the container on the counter which required the need to pour the large jug yourself. Also thehagglers outside in front trying to sell stuff made it confusing because we did not know if they were with the store or not.Super annoying."

"I was searching for an authentic Jamaican restaurant in this area, and Reggae Pon the Grille did not disappoint. I had some colleagues in development who were eager to try Caribbean cuisine, so we ended up ordering almost everything on the menu. While the atmosphere and bar area were a bit cramped, and the music was a little too loud, the food was outstanding. Co-owners Nadine and her chef were delightful company. They spent over an hour with us, discussing each dish in detail, demonstrating preparation techniques, and sharing a few family secrets. It's tough to recommend just one dish, as we all loved everything. If you find yourself in this area, be sure to support this family-run business; you won’t be disappointed!"

"I’ve been to this place several times, and the food is good. But I realized the last couple of times I went that I was being charged different prices at different times for the exact same order. One day two large orders cost like $25, the next time it was like $35. And, no matter whether I order medium or large, it is the same amount of meat. They’re not honest. Service is not particularly friendly, and they always run out of patties!"

"I used to work at the warehouse in the area and was a frequent customer at Jamaican Flavors . If you're hungry it's worth it . Everything they make is fresh every day . Maybe not the best customer service but I can see all the workers trying their best to keep the line moving and not make the customers wait a long time . "Rowe 's Atmosphere should be 4 stars because I (personally) would love to see scenic views of Jamaica and Jamaicans on the walls but I do not want to lower the overall score as to some it 's a non issue. It is a definite 5 stars for its cleanliness and pleasant ambience. Mr. Rowe recently catered an event for my family and the food was all the rage! Clean, fresh, delicious, AUTHENTIC Jamaican cuisine served piping hot at our venue. Staff is courteous, pleasant and efficient way more than can be said for most Jamaican restaurants where staff are shamefully rude. This restaurant deserves 10 stars! Mr. Rowe is an absolute pleasure to deal with; a true professional. Please check them out you 'll be pleased. A best kept secret in the neighborhood of East Flatbush."

"I ordered from Uber Eats around 8pm and the jerk chicken was delicious. However, I was disappointed by the Mac and cheese as it was bland and dry. The rice also tasted old with hard pieces throughout. The oxtail was good but the pieces were small and felt overpriced. Overall, I felt like I was paying too much for the amount of meat on the bones."

"While on our way home my wife and I came across Dexter's Kitchen. We stopped inside to order a bite for the ride home, a Bake and Saltfish Buljol (a bit if red pepper added) with a side order of okra. The first bite of the Bake was hot euphoria that rushed through me so fast I felt my clothes falling off with delight (shokugeki no soma/food wars reference). My wife asked if it delicious. I let her have a bite and as she did have the same delicious reaction that I did.We turned around and went back to order dinner, which is seen in the picture below. 2 bake and Saltfish Buljol, order of okra, and an oxtail soup. We are looking forward to the many more visits and meals that will come. Anyone passing by I recommend anything that you have read within these words. The spice is nice and the meal will leave you happily satisfied. Worth. Every. Bite."

"I ordered the Chugg Itt Bucket along with two festivals, spending a total of $86.75 including taxes and delivery. Unfortunately, this was my most disappointing DoorDash experience so far. What I received was just one cluster of snow crab legs, four fried shrimp, five peppered shrimp, and half a lobster tail (and I mean half). Everything was served on a massive bed of rice, pasta, and mashed potatoes, which weren’t mentioned in the description at all. I also didn't receive the festivals or corn that were specified, and I hadn't selected the option to "go with merchant recommendations." Overall, the food was extremely overpriced. While the delivery was prompt and the taste was decent, the quantity and quality really fell short. I won’t be ordering from this place again."

"I recently went to the Fisherman's Cove location and attempted to order a side of plantain. The staff informed me that they do not sell plantains individually as side orders, and that I would need to order a full meal instead. I found this policy to be ridiculous, as I have never encountered it before. I have always ordered plantains as sides at the restaurant's Eastern Parkway location. I will not be returning to this location in the future."

"I ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken, rice and peas, coleslaw, and an empanada-style side. The flavors of the jerk chicken were fantastic! While the rice felt mostly like a filler, it was well-prepared. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the coleslaw was. The empanada had a delicious filling, although it had a bit too much crust. Overall, the food was really tasty, and I highly recommend this place to everyone."

"terrible eating and service! Previously I visited topaze quite a time (20 years), I decided to get some of their food as I was in the afterbarity (before february 2022). I noticed that the place has changed a lot. I was told that they did not have pattys (destroyed). the personal is indifferent to the presence of customers or perhaps it is customers that they do not know either how it is unacceptable! the food: I ordered a jolt chicken flour and a ochsen tail (swede) meal, I chose coleslaw as the side for both (confirmed by staff). the result: (I should have checked before leaving). after an hour after leaving the restaurant, the joking is ridiculously dry, I mean brittle! absolutely not to eat, no exaggeration! many rice in every meal (not unusual for restaurants). the oxtail was just ok, nothing special. and guess? no coleslaw! sautéed vegetables instead! if they decide to go here, I hope they don't have my experience. I'm not back!"

"I am currently on holiday in New York and decided to revisit this restaurant from my last visit. The service was a bit brusque from the woman taking our order, which I assume is typical New York Jamaican style. We ordered two Jerk Chicken and two Oxtail medium meals, which were priced higher than in the UK at just over $60. Overall, the food tasted good. The Jerk Chicken was not charcoal grilled like in London, but the gas grill did a decent job. However, there was not enough sauce on the Oxtail meals, a common complaint in many reviews. The Oxtails themselves were cut small, about half the size of what I would get in a UK West Indian takeaway. It's unfortunate that they seem to skimp on portions, except for the rice, because the food is flavorful. I am undecided on whether I will eat here again when I return to New York in the future. The price did not reflect the quality or quantity of the food."
