"I'm really confused about what happened and if there were changes since the last time I came here, which was a few months ago. I came again about a week ago with my friends for a celebration. A few days prior to that, I called to make a lunch reservation for this Santa Clara location. The lady on the other end was really sweet and recorded all of the party information and date/time. However, on the day of, I arrived for the lunch I planned with my friends informing them i was here for my reservation, and the employee there looked extremely confused and said there was no reservation, while flipping through their notebook at the front. Thankfully since our reservation was for lunchtime right when Beque opens, there were still lots of tables, and so she said she will seat us even though we don't have a reservation. They only brought out 2 saucers of sauces for our party of 6 and forgot to bring out more until we reminded them. Our order took longer than usual to come out. Some people in my party also used the bathrooms and said they weren't maintained recently.Maybe I did not come on a good day or they were understaffed that day, because I did only see one person attending to all the tables during the time I was there. The experience i had last week contrasts greatly to the dinner I had here months before, which was also a reservation but was organized well by the staff. Although the service was not as it's strongest at this time, I will always appreciate Beque's generous portion sizes, fair pricing for AYCE, and extensive menu that contains many options without marinades and is perfect for people with allergies/intolerances."

"When we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find a traditional Korean restaurant with large tables, and I noticed the big ventilation systems on the ceiling for the cooking. To my surprise, we didn’t end up ordering the typical BBQ, but instead tried a variety of dishes that included a delightful mix of pork and beef. What really stood out to me were the banchan – the side dishes. They had an impressive selection, including different types of kimchi, a refreshing icy dish, and some small dried fish, among others. I believe the quality of a Korean restaurant can often be judged by the variety and quantity of banchan they offer, and Kobawoo did not disappoint with about six or seven different side dishes for the five of us. I dove right into the kimchi first. I know it can be quite spicy, but I love the initial taste and texture it provides. Just thinking about kimchi makes my mouth water! The star of the meal, for me, was the bossam, which I don’t think I’d ever tried before, likely due to my limited experience in K-town. The dish consists of steamed slices of pork wrapped in leafy greens with a bit of pepper. The pork was tender and slightly fatty, and I probably ate more than I should have. The pajeon, or pancake, was also quite good, and I believe it was a seafood variety. I’m not a fan of the chewy texture often found in pancakes, so I doubt this dish would appeal to mainstream American tastes. Personally, I prefer simpler kimchi pancakes, which happen to be one of my favorite dishes. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience."

"TL;DR the “bad customer service” reviews hold as much water as a pasta strainer and the servers are always courteous as long as you treat them with respect. The food is high quality, hearty and fairly priced and can feed you for a couple days if you get a large portion. I’ve been here quite a few times and the food is always top quality and comes in small but hearty servings if you’re not getting a hot pot or bbq. They’re short staffed as of now so it takes a little bit longer to be served than normal depending on when you visit but that’s in no way their fault. The people saying they had “bad customer service” are most definitely racist, one of them said that the “bad service” was because their server simply didn’t seem to speak much English and the other was because they threw a fit over a “gross looking” ingredient in their kimchi jjigae which was likely just a weird looking piece of kimchi… I have been served by the waiter described in the latter post and she is nothing short of sweet and kind. If you’re kind to the servers they will be kind to you as well. I HIGHLY recommend this place, the prices are very fair for what you get and the hot pots are delicious and can last you a couple days if you get one for just yourself. The food is high quality and the atmosphere is great. The attached image is their goat stew, which is my favourite dish at the restaurant!!"
