"I was just passing by when I spotted this restaurant and decided to check it out. The place feels like it's straight out of The Sopranos—so cool! All the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They offered me a complimentary slice of prosciutto, which was so delicious that I ended up buying half a pound of it. Plus, they gave me a free dessert for being a first-time visitor! I'm so happy I discovered this gem, especially since it's only 7 miles from my house. I will definitely be returning!"

"Best staff and manager, Megan. They went upstairs and beyond to host our Woodland High cheer team at Cartersville after a competition. Megan was so easy to work and the planning of our event was so easy. The terrace was a perfect place and could keep the whole team and the parents. Megan was so easy to communicate and set up a buffet style serving area for the girls. The staff service was exceptional. Thanks again! You've found out that we're State Bound so unforgettable!"

"I have visited Mellow Mushroom in Aiken twice and I am thrilled to find a restaurant that offers vegan and vegetarian options. The salads and balsamic vinaigrette dressing are fantastic! Although I haven't tried the vegan pizzas yet, I ordered a tofu hoagie without mayonnaise and cheese. They brought me a sample instead, which didn't bother me too much, but there was still feta cheese in it. I appreciated the option to choose rye bread. I will definitely be returning for more."

"Easily customized a pizza to make a very tasty vgan pie. Our waitress was very accommodating and informed me that, even though the gluten-free crust says vegan all over it, it has eggs in it. You can however get the regular crust made vegan by asking them not to add the parmesan cheese (and butter I got the olive oil/garlic base with all the veggie toppings from the mega-veggie pizza, subbing tempeh for tofu and asked for just a handful of Daiya cheese. It was perfect. No, it's not health food, but when three-quarters of your meal is veggies, it can't be all that horrible for you. It's at least much better than a dairy pizza would be."

"I visited this location about five years and had nothing but good things to say about it. I enjoyed my visit so much I wrote about it on Yelp. I was there again last night, and things have really changed. The young woman who sat me was very friendly but then I waited awhile for a server to come by. When he walked by my table he seem surprised to see me. He was not friendly and seemed to be in a bad mood. He barely spoke to me the entire evening. He wasn't helpful when he told me there were no pretzel bites and didn't offer an explanation as to why they were on the menu but not available. Foolishly, I ordered a half order of pretzels instead. It was far too much for one person, which is entirely my fault, but they weren't good. I waited for quite awhile for them and when they came they were very hard and dry. If any garlic butter has been applied to them, it had long since been absorbed by the dough and dried out. All they tasted like were salt and they were very hard to chew. I only at one, and not even all of it. I got the impression that the reason I waited so long is that the pretzel bites were ready in the kitchen for awhile and my server just didn't bring them to me. This was especially evident when my pizza arrived about one minute after the pretzels. It was my second time ordering a Thai Dye pizza and the only complaint I had my first visit five years ago was that there was barely any chicken on my pizza. That was true again on this visit. I counted five small pieces altogether, two of the pieces of pizza did not have any chicken at all on them. The cucumbers were cut in such huge pieces that they were still cold inside and not really appetizing. My server never came back to check on me until I was almost ready to leave. He didn't offer a drink refill until I asked for water. I felt like I was a bother to him. There was another waiter working a table near mine and he was very friendly to his customers. Maybe my server just has a different personality but if so, being a waiter is not the right job choice for him. It was overall a very disappointing experience. I was looking forward to eating at Mellow Mushroom again when I realized I would be coming to Herndon, and it just didn't measure up to my previous experience. Fortunately, I don't get to Herndon very often, so I won't be back."

"We visited late at night on a Saturday and the place was busy but not over-crowded! We hiked up to the rooftop bar and it was a nice spot. Yes, the pizza is pricey but it's delicious! The great thing about this place is that the drinks are slightly cheaper then bar drinks. The only room for improvement that I have is the service. We waited a while for our server to come to us and then we waited a while for the drinks to make it to the table. We did not eat though because they were closing their kitchen. The servers were super friendly though and the manager was polite when they gave us last call for the roof. Overall, good experience, would recommend, and will be coming back."

"This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant because I love hot pretzels. I drove an hour just to dine at M.M. However, the pretzel bites were very dried out. We ordered two different calzones, and both were terrible—overwhelmed by an excessive amount of basil, which completely ruined the flavor. It was so unappetizing that we had to send them back. The waiter was friendly but argued with me about the lack of basil in the dish, and we had to show proof of it. I was also shocked by how much the prices have increased while the portion sizes have decreased. If the food had tasted okay, it might have been acceptable, but the basil was just too much. Unfortunately, I will never return. It’s really a shame how much the quality has declined."

"To start, we ordered the Elevated Cobb Salad, and it was the perfect choice. The chicken and bacon were served hot and were incredibly tasty. By the time our pizza arrived, we had already filled up on the salad—just managing to have one slice each. The only downside was that the Cobb Salad isn’t offered in a smaller size, but honestly, it's big enough to be a meal on its own. As for the pizza, the Merry Prankster was fantastic. The crust had the ideal balance of crunch and chew with every bite. The combination of freshly sliced chicken, crumbled Italian sausage, and both fresh and roasted peppers, topped with just the right amount of cheese and herb aioli, made this pizza truly stand out. In addition to a delicious meal, our server, Taylor, was very attentive and helpful. There were multiple TVs showing the #STLCards game, which added to the lively atmosphere. Each table was equipped with pepper flakes, Parmesan, salt, and pepper, and having a convenient outlet in each booth made charging our phones a breeze. Overall, I had a surprisingly enjoyable experience at this chain restaurant, and I’d happily return for another meal."

"This place needs to be shut down. I came here today to get some take out and the lobby was closed. It's Saturday, so i don't know why that is. Other than that, the food here takes awhile to get to you and after the long wait it can either be wrong or taste funny. I don't recommend anyone to eat here. Just go to the taco bell next door which is way better than this place."

"Mellow Mushroom used to be our go-to local restaurant for meals when we were out running errands or too lazy to cook. We would go at least once a week for pizza or occasionally calzones. Then they swapped out the Daiya cheese for Follow Your Heart and we stopped going completely. Out of three members of our family, not one of us found the change to be positive and even after going back just in case we needed another try we are all completely disinterested in returning while they serve the new cheese. Honestly, the Vegan Gourmet cheese is foul. I guess some people complained that Daiya wasn 't real cheese enough, but what vegan really cares about that when the flavor is repulsive? The new cheese is atrocious to look at (it looks like clumpy, semi-liquefied yogurt) and tastes horrible. On a pizza with a lot of strong flavors (like a Thai Dye) it 's tolerable, but on a simple pie with just cheese or minimal toppings, it 's basically inedible. Also, this is not a place to go if you have any time constraints. A simple order taken immediately can still take over an hour to get to the table, even in a practically empty restaurant. On a busy night, you might as well just get comfortable because you 'll be there for hours. They also, unfathomably, do not carry anything like apple juice for kids. When asked what kinds of juice they had we were told they might be able to get some pineapple or cranberry from the bar. What sit-down restaurant doesn 't have apple juice? Not every family wants their kid drinking soda or HFCS-laden lemonade or tea . To be fair, their crust is usually excellent, the pretzels are amazing, and if you 're not in a hurry the atmosphere is usually pleasant. But the new cheese takes a 7-8/10 experience and drops it to a 3/10 at best."

"Mellow Mushroom has a great selection of vegan options, much better than the average place (especially chain) that has vegan cheese. They use Follow Your Heart cheese, which some people prefer over Daiya, although I don't really think I have a preference. Tell the server you are vegan and not to use any butter or parm on the crust, although the staff has always seemed knowledgeable and mentioned that to me when I ordered vegan cheese. They have interesting toppings such as marinated tempeh, tofu, and avocado. Try a tempeh and avocado pizza, you won't regret it! MM also has a stellar craft beer list, with local but also special releases from national craft beer sellers that are unusual to see outside of a bar with a great craft beer selection. In addition to pizzas, they have calzones that can be made vegan, and also tempeh/tofu hoagies (I have never asked if those can be made vegan, but would be surprised if they were not w/o mayo and with vegan cheese). Offers patio seating with heaters that keep the place toasty when the weather is cool."
