"I was so looking forward to dinning here after reading the reviews. It must have been an off night because the food was subpar at best. Started with the lobster appetizer, it was good. For the entries my wife ordered the diver scallops, the were raw in the middle. No flavor, with very little sear on the scallops. I ordered the ribeye medium rare with Alaskan king crab ontop. The king crab had a strong fishy taste and so did the pieces of stake i tried. Told the server and he took plate back to the kitchen. He came back and explained the chief said it could be the brine that caused the fishy taste. When is king crab or and crab meat soaked in brine? So the stake was rare, not medium rare. I can eat rare but the stake was tough and no flavor. So a total disappointment with the food. The best part of the evening were the 3 servers that took care of us. Outstanding to Scott and team. For a place that is known for their steaks, this Monday night was a failure. For $250 meal and $50 dollar tip one should expect perfection at that price."

"I can't say enough about our experience. We were greeted by our wonderful hostess who took us to the perfect table with a perfect peaceful view of the ocean. Our server, Chris and his assistant gave us 5 star service. Chris’ knowledge of the menu was outstanding, and he gave us stellar recommendations. We enjoyed every bite of the filet mignon and iberico creation. The chef has culinary expertise. Our special dessert was unique. We had a fabulous time and every attention to detail was appreciated. "The service and hospitality was 5 star. Hannah was our server and went above and beyond to provide us with the best experience we have had in a long time. Unfortunate the steaks came out under cooked and purple. How she reacted and took care of us showed what a great professional she is. They took the steaks back to reheat them but doing that made them very tough and dry. Other than that the appetizers and dessert was very good"

"I brought my daughter here for a steak to celebrate her graduation. We ordered onion rings, a petite filet (cooked medium) pasta. Her filet came out ****. We sent it back only to have it come out still rare! We sent it back again it finally was cooked as ordered. By this time my dinner was getting cold. We finished our meal when the waitress came over to apologize. She then offered a free dessert for our trouble. Really? Since this place is a steakhouse, I thought they could have done better. How about comping the steak? The rest of the food was good but we won't be returning."

"We had a mixed experience at O'Learys Seafood Restaurant. We tried a couple of appetizers, and while the Pupusas were a hit, the Crispy Buffalo Oysters missed the mark with the overwhelming Buffalo sauce. Additionally, one of us encountered a pearl hidden within an oyster, which could pose a risk to dental health if unexpected. Moving on to our entrees, the Wild Halibut was a standout dish, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. However, the King Salmon didn't quite meet our expectations in terms of flavor. The Ahi Tuna entree was a bit spicy but still enjoyable, while the Thai BBQ Mahi-Mahi was visually appealing but unfortunately lacked flavor. Our server, Johnny, was exceptional and provided attentive service throughout our meal. The restaurant had a charming ambiance, and Johnny's courteous, personable, and knowledgeable approach added to our experience. However, the culinary execution was inconsistent, and I advise exercising caution w hen ordering and relying on the server's recommendations."

"This review comes after my third visit. Lol, I forgot to post. You may have guessed, YES, I love this place. Kemuri was recommended by someone who also loves them. My first visit was a party of 3 on 3/20. Our collective order was a tuna, Louisiana roll, cucumber salad, bowl (name unknown), and another roll (name unknown). On 5/18, my friend and I stopped by. We sat outside and then moved to the bar because there were too many flies! We ordered 2 tequila martinis each! We always share, so we ordered crazy monkey roll, lobster roll and dragon roll, and a side of fried rice. We both said the crazy monkey roll was our least favorite. My third visit was my bday and a party of 4. We are sharing friends, so we had the Louisiana, lobster, and dragon rolls. Robata was corn on the cob, baby back ribs, and shrimp. Not pictured OMG roll and drunken noodles. Basically, what I'm saying is GO!!! 10/10 recommend"

"Celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary ! Super excited to find this gem on Open table but at the end of our meal our celebration turned to shock when we were greeted with a 541$ Check. Apparently it was 150$ per person for the buffet with drinks not included and a 20% automatic gratuity even though we served ourselves at the buffet for all courses. This information was not listed anywhere on open door when I booked the reservation nor was it mentioned when we were seated at the table or any signage. I don’t mind paying good money for good food but this was definitely excessive for the variety of food provided only 2 main courses, ham or prime rib, 4 sides, a chilled seafood selection and a very limited dessert table and no drinks included. Love the location but would not book again for special events. When manager was contacted he apologized and said he no control over 3rd party reservations!"

"I spent $50 on two rolls and a chicken dish for takeout, but the experience was disappointing. The food was packaged extremely messily, with teriyaki sauce spilled everywhere. The rolls looked hastily made, as if they were put together in just 30 seconds. To top it off, the soy sauce container was the smallest I've ever seen. When I reached out to request at least a partial refund, I was denied and treated quite rudely. I definitely won't be coming back."

"we reserved a table of 10 for a birthday party. it was wonderful. our group met 30 minutes early in the bar for a cocktail and sat at the time of our reservation at our table. we had a remote table of the bar and so it seemed like we had our own small area for our group with the beautiful fish tank behind us. the selection of food and weep was great. the shady sides have worked well for our group. the birthday boy was treated a beautiful dessert. it was a great experience and we will be back for date night or another special celebration. I highly recommend it."

"we stopped in here before the Bruce Springsteen concert because they had a sign out front that said “Walk-ins Welcome” and they were the ONLY bar on the block that wasn’t absolutely packed — became pretty clear almost immediately why there was no one in there. There was a weird tension in the atmosphere and you could tell none of the staff wanted to be there — the customer service was absolutely awful! our bartender was extremely rude and acted like we asked for the Moon when my mother requested napkins. He then yelled at us for putting our purses on an empty chair next to us and said we weren’t allowed to “save” seats for guests who hadn’t arrived yet.when our guests did arrive the hostess came over and reprimanded us to let us know that “congregation around the bar was not allowed” … very bizarre. we immediately left instead of getting a table and went to Hotel Zachary instead (even though we had to stand and drink there).the one positive was that they did have a lovely selection of mocktails, and the one i ordered was really good. the rest of the drink menu looked really interesting too as did the food."

"I went to this restaurant during restaurant week, but I cannot say that I would recommend it. The appetizer options (cucumber salad, miso soup, or seaweed salad) seemed too basic for a fixed price of $40. The entree was decent, but the nigiri was disappointingly small. The sashimi was good, however. The rolls were average. The dessert felt like two store-bought flavored mochi ice creams. The 5% suggested tip was calculated incorrectly at 5.5%, leading to an awkward conversation with the manager. With the fixed price and drinks, the total cost for two people ordering the restaurant week special and one cocktail was already $112 before tax, which I felt was not worth it. There are many great sushi options in DC, so I likely will not be returning to this restaurant and would not recommend it to others."

"We went to celebrate a birthday and had an awesome time. All of the food was delicious and with the prefix menu, it was easy to make selections for a great experience. We started with the crab and cucumber salad and the lobster tail salad. Both were great! We then had the Cajun quail and salt and pepper calamari for our appetizers, and the kitchen provided us a tuna tartare on the house. The salt and pepper calamari had great bold flavors and was a cool new riff on fried calamari. The tuna tartare was my favorite dish of the night I was so glad that they surprised us with that. The fish was clearly a high quality and very fresh. For our entrees, we ordered the shrimp and the rack of lamb with a side of a veggie fried rice for the table. The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and was incredibly moist. The shrimp was our favorite of this course; the veggies that accompanied it brought a great freshness and snap. We ended the night with the chocolate brownie and the lemon cheesecake. I had the lemon cheesecake and it was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect note to end on. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back again. Service was incredible and the vibes in the restaurant were very cool and comfortable."
