"The chicken pieces were small and overcooked. I ordered the meal that includes a breast and a wing, but the wing was severely battered, and the breast was cut in half. Who would expect to receive half a breast? The broccoli and potatoes I chose as sides were decent, but nothing extraordinary. Drinks are an additional $3, and considering how dry the chicken was, I felt like I really needed one just to help swallow it. It was scorching outside, so I figured I’d go inside to cool off with some air conditioning, but it seemed like the AC was either broken or turned off; it was surprisingly warm inside."

"Disappointed. The tortillas were all board stiff all around. The beans were cooked way too long and tasted like water. They literally melted in your mouth and not in a good way. The mac n cheese was basically a thick cheese soup with a few overcooked noodles. Chicken was cold. Looked like it was sitting all day and they just warmed it up. I usually do not write reviews, negative ones at that. But I am highly disappointed with the quality of the food. Sad to say, I will never order from this establishment again. Save your money."

"I went through the drive-thru and ordered my favorite chipotle chicken quesadilla, but this time it was much spicier than what I usually get at the Concord location. I went back to request the same one but ended up choosing the Pablo quesadilla instead. When I drove off and opened it, I found it to be ice cold – seriously, they gave me a frozen quesadilla! The vegetables were cold too. Maybe this happened because I complained about the super spicy chipotle chicken, or perhaps they just rushed it because I got my order back so quickly. It’s disappointing since I’ve been a regular at the Concord location for the past six months. I might need to stop by 7-Eleven instead!"

"My friend and I just came from the Asian buffet next door, where we experienced rude service. We were grateful to have found this restaurant! The servers here were very polite and the food was delicious. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend trying the mechelada, which includes 2 oysters, shrimp, fish, shrimp ceviche with avocado, and crackers to go along with your beer."

"When I asked for the side I originally wanted, the cashier was rude and told me to read my coupon. I responded that it's his responsibility to inform me of what was included in my order. Unfortunately, his customer service skills were lacking. He told me to wait and didn’t even ask for my side order. It would have been simple for him to just get my side and resolve the issue quickly. Clearly, more training in customer service is necessary for the staff. On a positive note, the manager was courteous and acknowledged that the cashier had mishandled the situation."

"I recently enjoyed a takeout lunch from this fantastic restaurant and it did not disappoint! The Teriyaki Chicken Plate was absolutely delicious, earning a perfect score for the food. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. The service was exemplary, with staff being friendly and efficient, making the ordering process a breeze. The atmosphere of the restaurant, even from a takeout perspective, felt inviting and vibrant. I highly recommend trying their Teriyaki Chicken Plate if you’re in the area!"

"The last time I visited to El Pollo Loco was abysmal. (See my review El Polo Loco on Countryside Dr Turlock) Tonight was redemption. There street tacos were delicious and the service was excellent. We used a coupon to try their new street tacos plate. Two tacos with rice and beans. We got the Elote Taco and the Avocado taco. They were bomb! The rice and beans were a tasty side dish, after we doctored them with cilantro, lime, and salsa. Originally the rice was a skimpy amount (See picture) and as I was finishing at the salsa bar the young lady at the counter gave me an additional cup of rice. She identified the short coming and took the initiative to correct it. Great Job! There were several employees on shift (11) the facilities were as clean as to be expected. Negative: There was a dried piece of chicken under out table that appeared to have been there for some time though."

"The place was nice, it was the employees there that were very rude especially Brisa. I was in restroom and she just kept calling my number in the intercom very sarcastically it was so embarrassing, when I got out I told the manager I was in the restroom andthere was no need for all that childish game. Brisa was playing and I didn't appreciate that she had to sarcastically call mynumber over and over acting so silly while so busy in there and then I asked for one 2 piece meal and one 3 piece meal and intotal we only got 3 pieces of chicken so we were missing 2 pieces of chicken and 2 sides, no napkins no forks or spoons. It wasbad all around. My husband said we work so hard and payed for all this only for you to get embarrassed and not have a fullorder. He was so mad. We are not returning. To the manager and supervisor there teach your employees respect and be mature.There is one saying what you let happen is what you are leading by example so please do better for the young employees so thatcustomers can continue to go there peacefully to order and eat there. "I couldn't get the wings I wanted, so I settled for a 2-piece meal. The chicken was undercooked compared to what I am used to, but it wasn't pink inside so it should be safe to eat. However, the taste was not very satisfying. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a clean table and had to settle for the least dirty one available. We stayed for about an hour and noticed that the restaurant wasn't very busy, yet none of the tables were wiped down during our visit. When we left, the employees were just standing behind the counter chatting and the restroom needed attention. I don't think I'll be returning to this restaurant."

"The citrus grilled chicken is ALWAYS fantastic! The guacamole was just right for both dipping and putting-in with my tortillas. My only complaint is related to the tortillas. First, I was asked what type of tortillas, corn or flour,… I said flour. I got two corn tortillas. Okay, I can live with that. But 3 piece chicken meal should have at least 3 tortillas (probably 5), but definitely more than two."

"I've been going to El Pollo Loco for decades and this location has to be the worst. Every time I go in, there is a problem. I actually expect it every time I walk through the door. Sometimes I am overcharged, others my order is missing items. This time, they had no legs or thighs and it would 30 minutes before any would be available. I ended up going elsewhere for dinner."

"Today, we visited your San Jose location at 1299 S Winchester Blvd, San Jose, CA 95128. Normally, we frequent your location at 1725 Branham Ln, San Jose, CA 95118. We always order the same thing: 2 Keto Burritos with white meat, extra avocado, and one small soda. At the Branham location, we typically pay $24.87 for this order. However, today at the Winchester location, they tried to charge us $43.00 for the exact same order. I pointed out to the cashier that this was almost $20 more than what we usually pay at the other San Jose location. She was quite rude and insisted that the higher price was due to the location we were in. She seemed pleasant with other customers but was disrespectful to us. Perhaps it was because we didn't speak Spanish like some of the previous customers, and she struggled with English. My wife, who is of Latin descent but does not appear so, attempted to communicate with her in broken Spanish. The workers behind the counter were also glaring at us and giving us dirty looks. When we placed our order, another woman approached the counter and instructed the cashier in Spanish on what to charge us. We are extremely disappointed with this treatment and have no intention of returning to this location. We will also be contacting corporate to address this issue."

"I'm sorry to report that this restaurant has lost its appeal. We used to look forward to dining here, but during our recent visits, we've faced rude customer service, missing items from our orders, and once, we even had to deal with wastewater from a manhole near the drive-thru. It was unbearable to wait for our food in that situation, and we ultimately lost our appetite and left without eating. There have been times when they claimed to be closed even though they are supposed to be open until 8:00 PM. Just last week, we experienced food poisoning, which will mark our last visit. We usually go in the evenings, an hour or two before closing, and feeding a family of six can be quite costly. We've always approached our visits with friendliness and patience, trying to be low-maintenance customers. Overall, it's truly disappointing, especially since we used to enjoy it alongside other establishments like El Pollo Loco."
