"The view at the restaurant is stunning and the portions of food are generous, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The NY strip steak I ordered was not cooked to a medium temperature and was incredibly dry, just like the baked potato that accompanied it. Similarly, the food my girlfriend ordered was also disappointing. Even the boba rum we tried wasn't up to par. To make matters worse, our bill amounted to over $160, yet we ended up leaving more than half of our food uneaten. Our server was great we left a good tip for her great service."

"Best bagels on the UWS. I see people here complaining about prices and wait times. Most of the time I don 't get my bagels with anything on them, which may explain why I don 't have these issues?I usually buy just the bagels, get cream cheese separately from the supermarket (or sometimes a 1/4 pound container of their specialty cream cheese, usually garlic herb), and perform the necessary procedures at home myself. This is the old Upper West Side way of doing things, dating back to when the old H H Bagels on 80th Broadway ruled the UWS. (The new one on Columbus 85th 86th belongs to the H H Bagels East company, which is different and not as good).The old H H sold both bagels and cream cheese, but would not assemble them together for you. You were expected to do this yourself at home. I guess I just got used to doing things that way.Anyway. Ever since H H closed, Tal Bagels has consistently had the best bagels in the neighborhood. The everything bagels are absolutely perfect, and they have whole wheat everything too.The staff is rude because they are relentlessly overworked and always exhausted. Please try to be patient with them, and consider maybe dropping a few dollars in the tip jar. The guys who show up at 4 AM or whenever to open are the same guys who close in the evening. On top of that, there 's usually only 2 of them serving customers, and the place gets pretty busy.This is also why the closing time listed here is not quite correct (6 PM every day? LOL). They close early as often as they can, occasionally as early as 2:30 PM on Sunday. Go as early as possible, and don 't count on them being open after 4 PM."

"I give a 1 star because of our server Marcelo. He was great. He made sure we had what we needed and he made a killer gold rush drink. Other than the Korean style wings, the food was horrible. Salmon had no seasoning, very watery, frozen flavor and the sauce they add does not do anything for it it is gooey and taste horrible. My son's strip steak was chard on the ends, no seasoning and no flavor. Also had a sauce that did not taste right. We did not even finish half our food. Marcelo didn't need to but offered a dessert on them (we did not accept) and removed the salmon and steak from our bill. Will never eat here again and do not recommend. Hopefully they change how they make their food. Again the only good thing about this place was our server. My son and I ended up getting Ivys by Uber eats as my son is under 21"

"A little while ago I had the pleasure of dining at 3800 Ocean, located at the Marriott on Singer Island with some of my team at Echo Fine Properties. This stunning restaurant is situated right off the ocean, providing breathtaking views of the water from every table. The location, at 3800 N Ocean Drive, is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the modern decor. The open kitchen and bar area added to the lively atmosphere, and I couldn't wait to try the food. The menu features a variety of seafood and steak dishes, as well as a selection of unique cocktails and craft beers. I decided to go with the seafood platter, which was absolutely delicious. The lobster, shrimp, and scallops were all cooked to perfection, and the accompanying sauces added a nice touch of flavor. I also tried the filet mignon, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked to my requested medium-rare. In addition to the outstanding food, the service at 3800 Ocean was top-notch. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, my experience was truly memorable and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end dining experience on Singer Island."

"I recently had a very negative experience at Cranford's Best, which I would consider the worst restaurant visit I've ever had, both personally and with my employees. I ordered two pork roll sandwiches, but only received one. When I brought this to the owner's attention, he insisted that I was mistaken and never ordered two. Despite his dismissive attitude, I remained calm and reiterated that there had clearly been a mix-up on their part. To my surprise, the owner continued to accuse me of being in the wrong. When I declared that I would no longer place orders there and that they had just lost a customer, he responded, “You won’t order from here anymore? Then I won’t send you your second sandwich.” I was shocked by his attitude, especially coming from an owner. Everyone in my office overheard the call, and we even recorded it to capture the poor service. If anyone knows how I can share this recording, I would love to do so. This experience has left a sour taste, and I cannot recommend this establishment. Avoid this place at all costs!"

"Worst service ever. The restaurant was nearly empty, but it took minutes to be seated. The server couldn’t keep any details straight, and half our food came out wrong. After taking away an incorrect order the waiter never brought a replacement. We were still requesting our kids' meals after the rest of our group had finished dining. "Hello, I’ll start by saying this, we were seated promptly we had bread and water promptly. That’s the good. We had to ask three different servers for butter and plates. We did not have the typical dinner memo or the New Years menu, instead we had the lunch menus on our table. We asked for a dinner menu and received the New Years menu. Why weren’t we offer the typical dinner menu? We proceeded to order two appetizers which we only received one. Server never wrote other appetizer down. We were given three meatballs due to the long wait for the entree’s. As were about to enjoy them, the waiter quickly removed them off the table and said they weren’t for us and removed them. We ordered from the New Years menu as we were not even asked if we wanted the typical dinner menu. Entree’s were mediocre at best, I never ordered onion straws but they came with our entree’s The manger never walked around to ask how everything was. The server then proceeded to tell us his life story for the remainder of our night. Waiter asked if we were ready for dessert when we hadn’t ate half our dinner. We decided not to order dessert. The waiter then took it on his own to bring us two small chocolate balls with cinnamon coating and to top it off, the waiter brought us a to go container of peanut butter. This was by far the worst New Years dinner we have ever had. I personally do not think this restaurant was ready for this type of evening. All the wait staff seems to be running around and not getting any properly done. Obviously we will not return. I just hope no one else ever has to endure this type of experience at this restaurant.."

"I went to show the staff the disgusting raw chicken and rotten cucumbers, but the manager insisted the cucumbers were fresh. Although Grubhub refunded my order and offered to make me a new salad, I don’t trust them anymore. I don’t understand why the owner would hire inexperienced kitchen staff who don't know how to cook. The manager also mentioned she couldn’t fire the cook because he was sick, stating another cook usually handled the chicken. It was a complete circus. The staff was defensive instead of apologetic, failing to take responsibility for potentially giving me food poisoning and covering my medical expenses. If you enjoy raw chicken and spoiled cucumbers, then by all means, eat here. Otherwise, I strongly advise against it."

"Not my kind of place. The bar / tavern had screaming, loud customers on a day when there was no one around. Really a tasting menu, teen plate, teen servings, bad value for money. The waitress told me that the green peppers in my clam chowder were mild - they weren't and had to spit out with a burning mouth. Really embarrassing when I was treated. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."

"Food was very slow to arrive at table. When it did arrive, my main course was not hot. Needed to sent it back. Paella lacked flavor. We were told it served two people. It does not. It is a normal full-size serving for one. It was mostly shells and little fish and the rice was overcooked to the point that it stuck to the bottom of the pan. Pasta bolognese was acidic and actually tasted bad. The servers and hosts were all very personable so I feel badly for them. The kitchen has problems."

"Poor Service. Poor communication between front staff and kitchen. We were informed that they would be offering breakfast buffet until 12. Our reservations were at 10:45 am. Waitress took our drink order at 11 am. We ordered at 11:15 am. She informed us 5 minutes after ordering the buffet that the cooks will be removing items and closing buffet immediately. We asked to speak to manager. Manager stopped at table and told us the cook would be putting more food on buffet. Then the cooks proceeded to immediately remove trays from buffet. No new food ever came back out of the kitchen. We paid $19.99 for a breakfast buffet that we only had 5 minutes to access as staff was removing food as we were trying to fill our plates. The waitress apologized several times for their lack of organization and communication as a restaurant. She kept explaining that she didn't know what was going on. Four of our party quickly ate their 5 minute buffet of cereal boxes and eggs. I waited additional 30 minutes for egg white frittata while my friend waited an additional 10 minutes after me for her eggs benedict. The restaurant was not busy at all compared to last year when we visited and especially considering the crowd from the event next door. There was truly no excuse for the poor service or lack of proper communication from the kitchen to the wait staff and even the manager. I would never return to this restaurant or recommend anyone else to visit."

"I recently visited this restaurant for the second time and had an even better experience. I brought my whole family to celebrate my sister's birthday. We tried the pizza, which was amazing with a great crust, as well as the gnocchi and ravioli, everything tasted so fresh and delicious. The owner, John, is a true gentleman who knows how to take care of his customers, as well as our server that evening. We never felt rushed and were able to fully enjoy the atmosphere and delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning for another memorable meal."
