Was it because we were dining outside and ya’ll thought we were going to dine and dash? "Am I willing to shell out $20 for a poke bowl at a lively food market in a trendy neighborhood? Absolutely. I'd be happy to do so. However, I expect to be served a decent, if not excellent, poke bowl. Unfortunately, this place really fell short of my expectations. Everyone at my table chuckled when I showed them just how little fish was in my bowl. (A $5 sushi box from H Mart contained six times the protein of the bowl I just paid for.) I also specifically requested no onions. I normally love them, but due to a recent medical condition, I'm unable to eat them right now. And were there onions? You bet there were—plenty, just like the fish! There are so many positive culinary experiences to be had at R. House, but Hilo certainly isn't one of them."

"I would suggest this only as drunk food. While not everyone is sensitive to mold, if you are, I would also suggest not eating inside. Just waiting in line for my pre ordered food caused my throat to start closing again, I am very sensitive, and not everyone is. The food was edible. The horchata tasted like horchata, but wasn't anything special. I got nachos with beef. There were 6 full (but cut), cooked with the seeds, jalapeños in the dish, so I couldn't eat it very fas. I wound up tossing half of it because it wasn't worth it. The tacos were tacos. Again, edible. Nothing special. Two corn tortillas, meat, veggies. Food is cheap (yay these days), mostly edible, so great after hours soak up the grease food. Not wonderful sober."

"I was really excited to try this place, but when I walked in at 8:10 I was told that they were closed by the young kids working there. As I was leaving I noticed the sign on the door stated they were open until 8:30. I went back in when I saw that and asked if I could at least get take away if not dine in. They said the kitchen was already closed. Wondering if the owners are aware how they're turning away business during operating hours."

"This place might be tiny, but they make some GOOOOOOOOOD wings. And i love that the fries are actually crispy on the outside and soft on the inside the way good fries should be! (Not a clump of soggy mess. And the season they shake on them is delicious! Also, they are always friendly, which means a lot to me in terms of providing good customer service, which is REALLY lacking nowadays."

"We walked in and the cashier ignored us and answered a call. He had us wait for a good ten minutes without acknowledging us standing there ready to order. After he finished with the call he walked to the kitchen to grab something to eat and walked back to us and rudely asked what we wanted. After being there for 15 minutes waiting we asked for ramen and he said that they ran out. I didn’t even want to order anything so my friends and I walked out. This place looked good too. Pretty disappointing."

"I’ve visited this place a few times for a strawberry banana smoothie, and each time the staff has been friendly and accommodating. The smoothies are made with fresh fruit and taste amazing! They are definitely worth the $4 I spent. I haven’t tried anything else, but the store is very clean and everything looks appealing!"

"The food is decent, but the service is quite disappointing. They are rude over the phone and often put you on hold for what feels like an eternity. It’s frustrating because I can hear everything while I’m waiting, and it sounds like they’re just goofing around. The organization in this place is really lacking, and it takes an awful long time to get anything done. Additionally, the restaurant itself could really use a deep cleaning—it seems like they should close for a week to get it sorted out. Overall, I’d give the food a 3 out of 5."
