"We initially planned to visit First Watch on I-10 and Wurzbach, but the wait was too long. So, we decided to check out Embers Wood Fire Grill Bar instead. I must admit, I was a bit hesitant, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was. Among the five of us, we ordered the ribs, salmon, a pizza, and a turkey burger. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the ribs were excellent, the pizza was fabulous, and the turkey burger was outstanding. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive. I actually live in the neighborhood and had never tried this place before, but I will definitely be returning. Great job, and keep up the excellent work!"

"Our server was not the most attentive person, but he was friendly. Portions were large, so pretty good value for the prices. We were a party of four and two of us got combos which afforded us lunch the next day. Our table happened to be near the station where the food is cooked/plated. We observed some plates sitting undelivered for a few moments with no apparent way to keep them warm. Our combos had one meat that was not hot (plated first and left for second one to cook and one that was hot (second one. Server brought first two lunches and there was a pretty big lag before the other two appeared. This seems like poor planning--we were not a huge table. Some beer gets you a glass, some no option--the bottle is plunked down. This was a Saturday at lunch time and it was not crowded at all. Bonus points for taking Phantom Gourmet cards which are 10% off at the local AAA branch. Discounted food right off the bat is not a bad thing! PS No coffee! That was a shocker--what restaurant doesn't serve coffee?"

"Our favorite place for Sunday brunch! The all-you-can-eat and drink option is an unbeatable deal! The food and drinks are consistently delicious! The manager and servers are friendly and ensure everyone is well taken care of. And the music! It always lifts my spirits! We brought our family in to celebrate some birthdays, and everyone left happy and full. The birthday celebrants were surprised with a tasty tres leches cake featuring a sparkling candle! "Awkward when one of your party (the host receives his meal a full minutes before the rest of the group. The server did not explain, so I had to ask. He said it was not his fault. There are "stations" for the different meals, and the lasagna station entree was ready but the piccata and marsala stations were behind. Bolognese station was late, too. Thanks for the explanation, but I felt awkward. It would have been better if we'd even seen the waiter between receiving our wine and the super-late-and-mistimed meal, but we did not. the food was hot, delicious and plentiful. It would have been nice to have had bread for the table, but did not figure out how this worked. was I supposed to order? In short, the service was really sub-par, the food was "over-par and bottom line, will be back for sure"

"This was a very fun place near Drexel and UPenn, with a fun college vibe. There aren't many places like that which also serve good, sit down Italian food. Our server was quite good and the food came quickly. We made reservations through their website asit was for a Saturday prime time dinner. Appetizers/salads were a little pricy, but the entrees were quite reasonably pricedwith large portions. I wish we had space for dessert!"

"we were hesitant to try this place due to previous reviews, but we tried it on a Tuesday night, hoping that the place was not too busy. our food was fast, it was very tasty and the service was excellent. I had not expected the portions to be as large as they were. appetizer: loaded fries- very large portion. definitiw salad to share: huh paillard salad- very tasty dressing, good part. two good pieces chicken breast. slightly dry. ribeye: good size, very delicate and tasty. broccoli was boiled to perfection."

"I recently had one of the best experiences at a chain restaurant in a while. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the nicely cooked steak I ordered. In my opinion, this restaurant is better than Outback. The service was attentive and the salad bar was decent. I do wish they still served the pumpernickel bread with honey butter, but that was a long time ago. Nevertheless, this is a fantastic spot for a delicious meal and excellent service."

"I recently visited a restaurant/nightclub and while the place itself was clean, I found it to be very small and incredibly crowded. I could definitely see this place becoming popular at night with their music and drinks, but unfortunately, the service was one of the worst I have ever experienced. We ordered five alcoholic drinks, and while one of our friends received theirs promptly, the rest of us had to wait a staggering 26 minutes before ours arrived. To make matters worse, when we asked the server for some water in the meantime, we were left waiting for 30 minutes before it finally reached our table. I wish I could say I'm exaggerating, but this was honestly the worst service I have ever received.As for the food, the quesadilla was decent, and the wet burrito wasn't too bad either. However, I made the mistake of ordering the burrito bowl, and it was a complete disaster. The dish arrived cold, the cheese had a strange smell to it, and overall, it was just a truly unpleasant experience. Frankly, I cannot recommend this location to anyone looking for a satisfying meal, unless you don't mind overpaying for both the drinks and the food. Perhaps this place is better suited for those just looking to hang out.Parking: Some area around the area charge $10 for parking."

"Can you say, "dropped the ball" Normally love this place for good food, easy BYO, accessible location;...this weekend, not so much. Took a moderately large group for a birthday dinner...and it became pretty apparent the current staff can't handle the load. If you're going with people, and you're having pizza and salad, all good. BUT...if you have a larger group, and order an array of entrees, you could run into trouble. We did We had chicken entrees that had to be sent back twice as the chicken was still ****. If you know chicken, you know this is a bad thing. Even simpler things...a straightforward pasta dish for the birthday girl...took so long that all other entrees were out and eaten before she got hers The good news was that the server was great but it's really tough for a server to make up for a misfiring kitchen staff. Hopefully, it will get better.."

"Went there Saturday night, was in Lenoir, visiting family. The parking lot was half empty. And from my experience, that’s a red flag. The food, the service and the overall experience was amazing! I’ve been living in the Charlotte area for the last year, but I have a house in Hickory. That store closed during Covid. Missed the salad bar! I love the pumpernickel croutons! As usual we ordered a shrimp appetizer, and everyone ordered an entree/w a salad bar. I had the grilled Tilapia w shrimp, my daughter ordered a pasta dish, and my grandson Tadpole, ordered chicken fingers and fries. The whole time the waiter was so friendly, accommodating, to the point of playing with my grandson. Letting him grab pens, straws etc. We all had boxes of leftovers, and the salad bar is so good. The waiter was a guy, named Tom I think on 07/06/24, and he was a trooper, we never went without, because he, and other staff checked, politely every fifteen minutes!"

"I want to begin by saying that the food at this restaurant is fantastic, so don’t let this review discourage you from dining there. However, I will be refraining from ordering until they address an issue. When you place an order online, they automatically add a 20% tip for takeout, with no option to select 0% unless you notice the small print for a custom tip and adjust it yourself. Personally, I usually tip 10% for takeout since the staff is already earning at least minimum wage. It feels underhanded that they incorporate the tip without making it clear, and if you don’t notice or raise a concern like I did, you could end up paying an extra 20%. As I mentioned, the food is excellent, but their business practices leave much to be desired."

"I ordered the all-you-can-eat salad, along with grilled salmon served with rice and vegetables. While I don’t usually seek out typical American cuisine, I have to say that my meal was spot on. The combination of the rice, salmon, and veggies was exactly what I needed. For dessert, I tried the chocolate lava cake, but since I’ve been on a diet avoiding added sugar, it turned out to be sweeter than I preferred. However, the highlight of our visit was our server. Despite only being on her third day, she was very pleasant and attentive, frequently checking in to see if we needed anything. My friend, who also works as a waitress, complimented her and offered some tips, and she was very open to the advice. In summary, while American chain restaurants typically don't catch my attention, the food and, more importantly, the excellent service greatly brightened our otherwise disappointing night. If any place deserves a 5-star rating, it’s this one."
