"This is a new one to me. I've never actually been to a restaurant where I've hated the food. I'll eat just about anything, and I enjoy strong, rich, spicy, and sweet foods. The fried Gator bites, awesome. No notes. The gumbo, a strong and confusing medley of flavors. It was almost below my tolerance for what I'll swallow. Another member got the shrimp and grits, with chicken substituted for shrimp. Chicken was rather tough, and I really couldn't decide if I liked the sauce or not. It almost tasted like it was made with beer? Not a good flavor profile for the dish, and I actually left it behind, something I never do. I also had a cesar salad, something I know I love. There was so much sauce, and it was so rich, It was overwhelming, and I wish I had less sauce and more leaf. Finally, and sadly, the key lime pie we got to go was... lackluster? It was topped with coolwhip, and altogether tasted not like key lime pie, only hints of lime. We paid so much for a mediocre experience. I wouldn't mind if it was one bad dish, or if it was cheap. But there was a lot not to like here I'm sorry to say. Honestly, there are so many good places to eat around the OBX, don't take chances here."
