"I placed a phone order and specifically requested that the food be non-spicy. However, it turned out to be extremely spicy, making it inedible for my children. When I called to address the issue, the woman on the line insisted that her manager claimed it was mild, as noted on the invoice. She continued to argue with me, seemingly confident that they knew the food was mild. It felt as if she had personally tasted the food before sending it out. I typically enjoy spicy food, but even I found it too hot to handle. Ultimately, we had to throw everything away. I won't be ordering from this place again."

"We settled in and started with samosas as our appetizer. The crust of each samosa was a perfect golden brown and not overcooked, which was a promising sign. The potato filling was lightly seasoned and tasted fantastic—I would definitely order that again! For our main course, we chose Saag Paneer, Daal Makhani, and a basket of four vegetarian naans. We requested that our food be prepared medium hot. While the Daal and Saag Paneer were delicious, they could have used a bit more heat; I’ll need to ask them to spice it up a bit next time. Our bread basket included fenugreek (methi) naan, aloo paratha, hara bhara (green) naan, and pezaa naan. The first three were simply delightful—I could have been completely satisfied with just those for my meal. However, I wasn't fond of the pezaa naan, which includes cheese, onions, and dried fruits; it had an overpowering onion taste, so I won’t be ordering that again. While we were dining, two ladies at the next table noticed our order and struck up a conversation; they turned out to be regulars at this restaurant. They agreed that the food is generally served mild and could benefit from a bit of extra spice. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It’s definitely worth multiple visits and is one of the best spots to experience Indian flavors. I’m even considering catering food from here for my future parties!"

"I met up with two friends for lunch at a restaurant that serves South Asian cuisine, which they have limited experience with. The restaurant had a nice, casual atmosphere with authentic flavors and dishes. The service was very accommodating. We started with samosa chaat, which I would definitely order again for a weekend snack, followed by roasted vegetable biryani, which was exceptional, and a mixed chicken platter. My friends loved the hara masala chicken, while I enjoyed the malai chicken. I will definitely be eating here again, most likely for takeout."

"So yummy got it twice in a row! So many seasonings, piping hot and really fresh so far. Everything I’ve gotten so far has been exceptional. They do take a little longer than other places to prepare the food but it’s worth it. Also cheaper than other Indian food spots around which is nice. They package takeout so nicely and always add a little extras here and there. Wish they were closer to where I live; I drive 20 minutes to enjoy their food. They nail the chicken korma, I’d say even better than the butter chicken! Online ordering is easy, too! Gotta give them a try you won’t be disappointed."

"Food was very good. Ordered the shrimp pakora, it was crispy, not greasy, and came with several interesting sauces. Chicken korma was very good and flavorful. Chicken Tikka was a tad dry, most of the veggies stuck to the hot plate, but flavor was very good. Note, it was not served with a side of sauce like it is at most places. Garlic kulcha was cooked well, not burned, could use a bit more garlic. Rice was nice and fluffy.Price was very reasonable, especially for the area.Staff were very nice and frequently asked how everything was. There is some outdoor seating. Note, the location is down a flight of stairs, which may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues.Definitely recommend and will go back."

"Let me please introduce myself I 'm a man of wealth and taste And I laid traps for troubadours Who get killed before they reached Bombay (Jagger/Richards) I 've seen this oddly shaped building with an Indian restaurant forever. I finally made my way in for a meal last night. The first thing you see when you walk in is the remnants of their old buffet table. They were known for their lunchtime buffets, but they 're now a thing of the past. The good sized dining room has a tin ceiling, yellow painted walls, and dark brown furniture. As I sat down, a super friendly young guy brought me a complimentary plate of papadum cracker bread with ramekins of onion chutney and tamarind sauce. The tamarind was great, like a thick and sweet Hoisin sauce. Now it was time to check out their daunting five page menu. I wanted to try something different, and the phrase prepared in the Afghan style caught my eye. Since never have I ever tried Afghan food, I went with their $16.95 Chicken Balti. Served with Basmati rice, the menu described it as with peppers, onion and cinnamon . I wasn 't familiar with the word Balti , so I researched it and learned the word means a metal pot from Northern India (near Afghanistan) that cooks the food and is then presented to the table for serving. When I ordered, my young waiter asked if I wanted it spicy, so of course I said yes. In a few minutes out came a bowl of Basmati rice and a Balti pot full of chicken chunks, sliced peppers and onions, in a delicious spicy brown curry. I LOVED my dinner! The curry was delicious, with plenty of the deep flavors I love in Indian food. And yes, it was medium spicy with a nice after-burn. I did think the chicken was a little overcooked, and far from tender. All in all, I loved my dining experience at Bombay. The food and smiling service were excellent."

"Wow a combination Irish Pub and Indian Curry House is something I thought only existed in my dreams! Although this place can look a little rough around the edges, the food is to die for! Our server, Peter, was very friendly and had good recommendations for beer. We had the masala dosa (amazing) which came with a side of delicious soup, naan, and Navratan Korma (vegetarian). We are outside on the back deck, but there was a bunch of seating inside and some on the front patio."

"I have patronized this Indian restaurant since 2002 and loved their (pre covid) weekday lunch buffets, which has been discontinued in the era of the covid pandemic. What brings me back over the years is the exquisitely prepared, well seasoned and tasty cuisine from different parts of India, as well as the wonderful and welcoming hospitality of the Patels. Vegetarians will find a wide range of vegetarian options. I love their vegetarian thali. For this review, my dining companion and I came for our first in person post covid lockdown dinner and ordered our favorites see accompanying photos. The masala chai has the perfect balance of Indian black tea, milk, and cardamom. The vegetarian mulligatawny soup (also available with chicken) is my favorite Indian comfort food soup a hearty South Asian/Tamil soup of lentils, tomatoes, and spices. The curry chicken has the right balance of coconut milk and curry spices and tastes perfect with the naan and paratha (unleavened whole wheat) bread. The tandoori chicken is their signature dish and is tender, juicy, and mouthwatering. For dessert, the kheer (rice pudding with milk and cardamom) is my dining companion's favorite while I love the kulfi (made with sweetened milk and pistachios, slowly cooked and then quicky frozen). It is a testament to the excellent food that keeps me coming back regularly for more since 2002 to the present (2021). I have eaten in so many Indian restaurants in North America, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia, and I am so proud to say that Tandoor's offerings are as authentic as it gets, without the Americanization."

"I have only been to this restaurant once. The interior is not bad or the worst, it actually looks good. The lighting makes it more interesting, and the guard greets you when you enter the restaurant. The most interesting part is the service and behavior of the staff. There were no issues with comfort or the restroom. As for the food, the quality was good, although not exceptional. The presentation of the food was very impressive. The prices are not very expensive, but not very cheap either. It's reasonable, I would say. I recommend visiting this place, as it will be a good experience. The desserts are particularly tasty and worth trying."

"Sad experience. Poor ambience overall. Entrance blocked with chairs, not sure why. Kids commented that music was dull and boring. More importantly multiple plates were unclean with food particles stuck to the plates. Salt and pepper shakers were dirty from prior use, not sure when they were last cleaned. The server looked like she didn't want to be doing what she was doing. No greetings or checking in between. Before bringing in 2nd round of food, didn't bother taking away the unclean appetizer plates first. Food was OK not great. The vegetable Biryani was honestly bad, didn't taste anywhere like what a biryani should be."

"Delicious food, but there were mice on the floor. Staff did not seem surprised and blamed construction, patrons were shocked. We left earlier than intended!! Had to ask for our drinks to be covered and i was literally offered a cup with a cover to go... Was finally offered a $10 discount but definitely won't be back until they hire a better pest control company and the city of Cambridge controls the construction and mouse issue. Our meal should have been compensated. Have been in numerous restaurants in Cambridge across from construction, this was the first time there were mice inside the nearby restaurant though! Used to be my go-to for indian takeout in the area. Saag was still good, but they need a sanitation and pest control team to make that place airtight without mice before I'll be back in person, as good as the food is!"

"I have been getting swagat once or twice a week for well over a year now. My boyfriend and I loved the place, we considered it to be the best restaurant in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately the ownership seems to have changed and the quality of the food has suffered greatly. It's just not the same food. Swagat used to absolutely nail every dish every time we got it, and now the food is bland and too sweet. Maybe this was an intentional choice to appeal to a wider audience, but it's not nearly as good as it used to be.Had whoever bought the restaurant not changed any of the recipes I'd only be a little disappointed not to see the same old faces when I went it, but since the food isn't even similar in quality, I'll probably never go back.We mourn the loss of swagat every day."

"I thought the restaurant was nice, clean and a great place to bring family and friends. My fiancee is from India so it was important for me to find a place where she could get the type of food she desired and missed from back home. She did the ordering as she could read what it said and knew what the offerings were as I did not. There was one main dish that she requested and it came out, not to her liking. She brought it to the waiters attention and he just shrugged and said, thats how they make it and offered nothing to replace it or a redo or even subtract it from the bill. That situation could have been handled differently and I am disappointed that she just left the dish there, and trust me, she is one that never throws anything out, so it must have been bad, Other than that, the evening was nice, we enjoy our time together and the restaurant on the whole was worth the drive."

"Found Punjab Cafe on Happy Cow while visiting the area from California. What a great find! It is listed as veg friendly which always makes me a little nervous since I am vegan. I couldn't have been more delighted. They have a vegan menu (be sure to ask for it), the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and the food was delicious. The group I was with loved it so much we came back again the next night."

"One of us ordered the butter chicken, and it was bursting with flavor—truly worthy of a 12/10 rating. The other person opted for the chicken tikka masala, which was just as fantastic, earning a solid 12/10 as well. The rice was wonderfully soft and fluffy, and the garlic naan was perfectly buttery. Everything tasted incredibly fresh! We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back!"

"If I could give zero stars I would. Me and my best friend were looking forward to dining here on a Sunday evening, when my friend originally walked in they told her it would be 10 mins for 2 people. As I walked in after parking they approached us and said they unfortunately did not have space for 2 people. They said they only had 6 person table available and 4 person table available. We looked around and no one was waiting, the place looked fairly empty.I asked if we could sit at one of those tables that were available and they said no.Very disappointed by this service, as I walked out I reminded them that they just lost business by not seating us.Me and my friend ended up going to Chili Curry instead and it was delightful!0/10 do not recommended Lotus."
