"It was very busy, but the restaurant has a lot of seats, so I didn't have to wait long. The food seems to be made fresh. I ordered the Oaxaca Bowl and it was amazing. Good food, rice and beans were tasteful. The vegetables should not be overcooked. The free chips were warm and the salsa was lightly spicy. Be careful because it is easy to fill them. My waiter checked me regularly and the place was pretty clean. Compared to recent experience in similar restaurants, I am very impressed. A huge television hangs over the seats that show FIFA World Cup. The decor is beautiful and you have comfortable high-back stands. I will definitely be back!"

"So we decided to go here over Don Jaun's because the last time we went to Don's I got Carne Asada Tacos and it really wasn't that good. So we decided to try this place because they had decent reviews. We got in and first off they put us right by the front door right where all the customers and waiters and waitresses are walking through. So the girl comes to take our drink orders she was really sweet and we also ordered a queso dip. While waiting for our app they bring chips and Salsa and the chips looked like they dumped the bottom of the bag into our basket. Then our app came out the queso was so runny we couldn't even scoop it up with any chips let alone the crumbles pieces we had it served better as beverage. So then another girl comes to take our order and she has her purse in her hand we were like where's our server? And I ordered the Rancheros and supposed to come with rice and beans and I got none of that just the 3 tortillas wrapped with meat that was it! We ordered my daughter 2 soft tacos and she only got 1. And her mother ordered Chimichanga with white sauce no red sauce and she got red sauce and said the food wasn't that good either she only ate 1 and no rice or anything else. Fortunately, my food was really good I just didn't get what I paid for no rice or beans so I wasn't happen at all! Then when it came time to pay there was nobody upfront to take mine and another customers payment. They stood there waiting about 10mins to pay and I waited about 8mins to pay. Overall it wasn't a great experience since we had like 3-4 waitresses we didn't get the food we ordered and just overall it's not enough to bring us back. I really don't think that management cares either because I looked at the reviews and not 1 reply from the owners or a manger from all their reviews and that shows they don't care. So save your time and your money and go somewhere else for a better experience. I don't recommend this place at all unless you want below subpar service and subpar food your better off going to Don Jauns less than 1\2 mile down the road. And we ended up spending about $43.00 and we left a 20% tip as well even though they didn't deserve it."

"We love this restaurant! The food and service are excellent. It's one of our favorite places to eat. The service is top-notch, the atmosphere is great, and the prices are very reasonable. "I make trips to Batavia every Tuesday and Thursday and I always pass by this restaurant so I decided one weekend that I would give it a try, it was very welcoming, we were seated right away and we were also given nachos and salsa we have been there twice since then and we have ordered the same dishes which is the majara Frita which is fried tilapia and we also ended up getting Frozen strawberry daiquiris, the fish and the rest of the food came out steaming hot and it was delicious, I was literally licking my fingers, the customer service was great we were well attended to and taken care of, the restaurant is clean and very colorful it just has beautiful scenery and I am looking forward to going back again to get the fried fish that is something that you have to give it a try it is just beyond delicious, and I also like getting dishes that I don't make at home"

"There were six of us. Our waiter acted like he understood just enough English to get by. Appetizers and alcohol were good. Our dinner order was difficult to get across to him. We didn't have enough silverware, napkins, or water and they took forever to get. The hosts dinner, green chicken enchiladas, was served 15 minutes after everyone else and it was wrong having mole sauce instead. He has anxiety issues and doesn't like to make waves so he ate the wrong dinner w all of us telling him to get the right thing. He just didn't want the hassle. It was not the happy birthday celebration we had all hoped for."

"I rate this restaurant two stars because the Margaritas are tasty and fairly priced, and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, I couldn't give it a higher rating because I ordered the carnitas and specifically asked for them to be extra crispy, which means I wanted them to be seared on the skillet for a nice crispy exterior. Unfortunately, when my food arrived, it was not crispy at all and didn't look very appetizing. I regularly order this dish at other places and it's always excellent. I didn’t dwell on it too much, though."

"Be careful. People here told me they were 'T KEEP TRACK OF THEIR GIFT CERTIFICATES. Most restaurants track their certificates at least with the serial number. They don't. I know that because today, Saturday, I visited there, far ahead to take my family to an expected dinner on Sunday; I had a $50 gift certificate from my sister for my 77. birthday. (We went to El Toreador earlier when we were in school uniforms. This morning I couldn't find the certificate, but I had a picture that I had taken with other gifts. My name appears on the certificate and a serial number and an issuer signature (Sees as Esperanza . Today I went to the El Toreador to see if they would honor the certificate on the image with all the information so visible. The young man who was present was obviously suspicious and wanted to know where the original was. I lost my house. I asked if they didn't track the serial numbers. We can't! , he said. Another employee or manager came in and said I should go. The young man spoke to my sister (the buyer on the phone) and immediately brought up my behavior as a problem and not the question of accountability of gift vouchers. The two people there tried to force me out of the restaurant and pointed to my age. Fifty dollars are very little money for me to go through the troubles to cheat El Toreador and cause trouble. I wanted to take my family from four there on Sunday night. I would have spent a lot more than $50 for that. This is all a shame because I have some childhood memories to the place. It's also a shame because they keep my sister $50."

"Talpa has been our go to Mexican restaurant for 40+ years. There 's a reason it 's survived the LA restaurant scene . Food is great; fresh, hot (heatwise) not just warmed up. Best guacamole just good avocados with no frills. Salsa is roasted and delicious. They 've added a full bar so you can have a margarita if you 'd like. We thought that after the long time owners sold it we 'd be disappointed, but not so. We are still loyal customers, coming back time after time for the great food and our favorite waitresses, Selina and Paula."

"Ordered the Nachos with shredded chicken; the chicken, cheese and beans were delicious, but the portion size was incredibly small. I know it's an appetizer but for $15 I was expecting something more substantial. I counted about 9 (albeit rather large) chips. Because of the small amount of chips, they were all incredibly soggy. Like I said though, it was delicious so I may order an actual entree from here to see if the small portion sizes are consistent or if it's just an issue with the nachos."

"I called to find out how they would accommodate a garlic and onion allergy. I requested the manager but the girl that answered said there would be NO PROBLEM because they make everything fresh. She was mistaken. The food was good but I missed out on all of the wonderful Latin flavors. My guests enjoyed it very much. The indoor ambience is cold, hard loud though it may look better when it’s dark out. The outdoor balcony is quite lovely."

"She stayed here today and sat in the bar. Mike, the bartender was so attentive and brilliant! I ordered the Wet Burrito lunch with ground beef. I asked for a side of shredded salad and a side of Cilantro. Holy cow! Look how big these pages are! Especially the Zilantro. I usually get about 5 cilantro leaves from other restaurants. I also had a few vodka diet drinks. The food comes out so quickly that if you want a minute before dinner... wait a minute before the order! It's not a negative. The kitchen did it! Great experience The hostess was super friendly. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Service was excellent and the noon prices were great! And the best food tasted wonderful!"

"I had a local rośe, a date bacon salad, the swordfish entreé, and dessert wine (forget what it is called) all amazing delicious!! Food came fresh, delicious, hot and super aromatic... I was in town for business and looking for great Mexicans and this place came up. In any case, has not disappointed and would come back! In addition, the ambience is quite cool; the restaurant is next to the missionary church, to which the bartender told me that the restaurant earlier part of the church at a certain point of history a little creepy, but authentic looking inside and beautiful in my opinion! The staff is friendly and welcoming."
