"I want to write a review to thank our server Mandy for her genuine hospitality. My friend and I had our last dinner in New Orleans and we came to Luke for the Happy Hour. The food was sublime, ambience was great. This is undoubtedly above many restaurants in the French Quarter. What sets this place apart from many of our other experiences was Mandy?s hospitality. She was genuinely nice and she shared with us her personal experience living in New Orleans. She mentioned the?Little things matter? attitude towards life of New Orleans. This will always stay in my heart. This is why the city is so charming and makes people want to keep coming back. Mandy was the first local person I really encountered andengaged in a conversation during my 4 days trip and she is making my trip memorable. Thank you, Mandy! Thank you, Luke! Your restaurant is lucky to have a gem like Mandy! I will definitely be back!"

"I decided to go to Mt. Airy and check out the historic downtown. I was happy to find this restaurant because all the other ones on the street were more fast food, burgers, unhealthy options, etc. The atmosphere was clean and open. The decor was classy and the bar was fun. I got the fish of the day (mahi) sandwich and it was cooked perfectly. The salad was fresh and great vegetables. The service was good. I wanted a glass of the sociable red, but they were out of that one, so I didn’t get any wine."

"food was very reasonably priced the shrimp tacos were amazing. Oysters on the half shell were good but kind of pricy at $14 for 1/2 dozen. Not sure that 1/2 dozen of the baked were worth $19 but they were good. Over all service was great and we will definitely be back, maybe for happy hour next time."

"I was visiting NC for a few days and had the pleasure of being introduced to one of the best seafood restaurants I've visited in my life! I grew up eating seafood practically every weekend off the Pacific and later lived in Massachusetts, frequenting seafood restaurants. My visit to full moon brought such new experiences that were pleasing both visually and tastefully. A start with some of the freshest oysters was merely the beginning to a delicious and adventurous dinner. Followed by a must try, yet oddly named alligator and crawfish cheesecake, I was expecting a sin on a plate, but was mind blown by the spicy corn bread like based filled with the seafood meat and covered with a creamy creole sauce. Even though not a spicy food fan, I couldn't resist but continue munching. After explaining my affinity for NE clan chowder, I was recommended a mixture of the crab bisque with the popular creamy soup. Combined they were a flavor force to be reckoned with, and even in the background, the clam chowder was one of the best I've ever experienced, including $20 cups in downtown Boston. Later, we were introduced to the char grilled oysters. I NEVER in my life EVER liked cooked oysters, only raw, but boy, did these turn me into a believer! A perfect combination of flavors created the most wonderful pairing to the shellfish. The sauce alone was enough to make your knees week, that at the end, it was hard not to scrape every bit of oil with the garlic bread. Lastly, the ends of the night was crowned by the most magestic cake banana bread pudding! An ingenious creation of the most delicious and moist banana cake with nilla wafers popping here and there and sandwiched with some creamy icing. The staff was as amazing as the food, highly attentive, entertaining, and on point with the shucking! I hope to make it back to NC simply to return to this must try foodie stop and gem!"

"Ambiance was decent and wait staff was good. Other than that nothing else I can say positively bout this placeOur meals were luke warm, blend and some of the sides had no taste to them whatsoever. While they have a bar and there own cocktails if you ask for something not on the menu, u probably wont get it. And yes, unfortunately even the cocktail drinks we did order tasted horrible. Bad bar staff..On top of all this, it took them almost an hour for them to bring our food out. Two kids meals, a chicken plate and crab cakes. I was very upset to say the least.Stay away. Go to Perry's Steakhouse next door. Exceptional food, service and bar area."

"Look for lines when you go places in NOLA because that 's where the good stuff is, and Mother 's is no exception. The staff is lovely and efficient, the signature Bloodys are delicious, and the food is very good. Also there is nothing 'greasy spoon ' about this place, despite that being in the descriptor. It 's in a really cool industrial space that is both funky and a clear sign that their priorities are straight you spend the money on making good food and people will come. (And they do. We waited for nearly two hours for a table for brunch and regretted nothing. NOTHING. Speaking of good food, if the sign says 'Best Baked Ham ' and you like ham even a little bit, you really (really. have to order the ham. Will never eat baked ham again unless it 's from Mother 's it 's the most fork tender, juicy piece of ham I have ever had. Well worth the wait and will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu."

"I ordered the shrimp to-go, and it was chewy and the coleslaw was missing. I also got the seafood platter, which was missing the soft-shell crab and had burnt oysters, and the fish and shrimp were also chewy. When I called to let them know, I was told they could remake the food but wouldn’t offer a refund. There's a sign saying the place is under new management, but sadly, the food was nearly inedible. Save your gas money!"

"Very Disappointed AGAIN. I had been to this restaurant about 20+ times in the first 3 months they were open and the food and service were great. The last several times I went there it was HORRIBLE. Last night I decided I would give it one more try. Upon arrival we were seated upstairs at a table the size of a postage stamp with 2 round, backless, uncomfortable stools. Not to mention it was under a huge flat screen TV. Maybe its just me, but this is not somewhere I want to sit when I go out for a nice dinner. I started out with a cajun **** mary which was really good. I ordered the special which was shrimp stuffed with crab meat. The shrimp was chewy and over cooked and the crab meat...read more"

"My brother was visiting, and although the Flying Fish isn't one of our usual spots, we've dined at other locations in the past. We both ordered catfish fillets, which we really enjoy. The batter on the fish was fantastic—light and crispy without overwhelming the meat. I also love the way they prepare their French fries. The decor, featuring flying fish and talking fish themes, is fun to look at as well. My brother, who is from Florida and regularly eats seafood, thoroughly enjoyed his meal and said it was very delicious."

"I had made a reservation for 7:30. It was my son's birthday. We also stayed at the River Crab hotel there . We were seated at 7:45 At 8:05 No one still had come to.our table. Had to ask for water and 8:15 a boy brought us water and said he would send over a waitress. 8:30 still no waitress Got up and told the hostess to please send a waitress. 8 :40 still no one. Every waitress passed out table like we were not even there. I.was so upset that we got up and left the restaurant and went somewhere else.to eat. There were 4 of us and my son's birthday was totally ruined!!!!!. I have never in my life treated so poorly at a restaurant. I will be sure to tell my friends of the horrible service we received. NO EXCUSE FOR THIS KIND OF SERVICE!!!!!!!!!"

"Crab dip was subpar but steamed shrimp was awesome. Server never cleared the table before bringing out more food. Then the runner looked confused when I asked her to remove the dirty plates first. My husband noticed the building was under negative air pressure caused from Kitchen hood exhaust (kitchen saloon doors sucked in) causing hot humid exterior air to rush into the restaurant when the exterior doors would open. Sit away from doors if you want A/C. Outdoor seating looked nice and led to long pier on the water."

"The club salad is so good and has fresh ingredients. The staff is nice too. The only thing that I do t like is their tv is always on Fox cable news, but the food is great and reasonably priced"

"We spent $140 on a meal for two, and the experience was disappointing. It took quite a while before anyone acknowledged us after we were seated. We ordered oysters, which took over 30 minutes to arrive. When they finally came, the person who shucked them did a poor job, leaving bits of shell in them. The side dishes reminded me of what you might find at a rundown fish camp—the slaw tasted stale, and the sides were served in a plastic sauce container. The service was lacking; no one checked on us, even though staff were nearby, too busy to see if we needed anything or to respond to our requests for items like forks or sauce. Additionally, they added an automatic 20% tip to our bill, but I intended to leave a reasonable tip in cash since I also work for tips. Overall, I don’t recommend this place and don’t plan to return."

"Very casual atmosphere, the server was disconnected, the food was quick but somewhat bland w New Orleans being the foundation for many meals like the po boy this version wasn’t the best. BUT the shrimp was perfectly fried to a crisp and I ate everyone of them in my po boy. The grilled flavor was strong and tasty but I would have preferred more butter and Parmesan on the oysters"

"The chargrilled oysters were excellent, but everything else fell short and was only average at best. The prices are quite steep for what you get. I was particularly disappointed to discover that Acme serves Swai, a Vietnamese fish known for being low quality and sourced from polluted waters. It's disheartening to see Acme charge $19 per plate for such a product. Given that Acme hails from Louisiana, it would be great if they could source their fish locally instead of importing it from halfway around the world. Additionally, the shrimp were small and tasted like cheap popcorn shrimp. The fries were stale and overcooked. Overall, I'm quite disappointed and won’t be returning."

"We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the ambience. We live in the neighborhood and wonder why it took us so long to enjoy a great meal there. It's relaxed, it's delicious and above all our waiter, a really nice young man, was outstanding. It's a great place where you can't choose how you want to eat because there's a little bit of it and a little bit of it with Italian flair"

"Excellent experience. This place really nails the atmosphere, the outside is unassuming but when you walk inside you are transformed into a different vibe. The food is great. They serve free garlic bread which has a detectable amount of pepper which is delicious and unique. The meatballs are massive and probably enough for 2 people. The turtle soup has very generous portions of turtle meat. The seafood is really what shines on this menu. You can not go wrong with any of the trout or catfish dishes. All of the portions are extremely generous. Overall a great experience."

"We wanted to go out on a date night on Saturday March and saw Giovanni’s had entertainment so we thought that would be nice. Our server was not wearing their mask over their nose. After the stop at our table I finally had to say something. The server had experience so they knew all about wearing a mask, even knew how to tighten it up so it didn’t keep slipping down. That tells me they just didn’t want to wear a mask. When we ordered our food I was told they didn’t have lobster when most of their menu items contained lobster. I said ok give me a few minutes to review the menu again. We were all set I ordered veal and my husband ordered swordfish. The server came back to our table to tell us they were out of swordfish. We asked them to go back to the kitchen and let us know what else they didn’t have as an option. We got our meal and the food was mediocre as far as taste goes. I had veal rollatini. I got to very small rolls they were appetizer size, my husband ordered filet mignon, it was also very small. We are glad they had entertainment because that made the night very enjoyable. We came to this restaurant many years ago and didn’t have a good time that’s why we stayed away. We gave it a second chance after many years and still very disappointed"
