"I recently had an incredibly disheartening dining experience at Main Street Social in Libertyville, and I feel compelled to share the shocking mistreatment we endured. Last Saturday night, my party of two had made a reservation for 7:00 pm. We arrived on time, and the hostess checked us in promptly, which initially seemed promising. However, what happened next left us utterly stunned. As the hostess was about to lead us to our table, another couple of two arrived without a reservation. It was evident that the hostess was familiar with them, as they engaged in a lengthy conversation. What makes this situation even more appalling is that, not only did the hostess open a conversation with them, but he also proceeded to seat them at a table, completely ignoring us and leaving us standing by the door. The couple that he escorted to their table looked at us with sympathy and acknowledged the rudeness of the situation. They were appalled by the hostess 's actions, and they made it clear that what he had just done was exceptionally impolite. Feeling humiliated and disregarded, I decided to approach the chef to express my concerns. Unfortunately, my attempt to communicate the issue fell on deaf ears, as the chef responded with indifference and a dismissive ok. This experience was not only embarrassing but also left us deeply disappointed in the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by the staff at Main Street Social. No customer should ever be treated in such a disrespectful manner, regardless of party size or any other factor. I strongly advise against dining at Main Street Social, as the blatant favoritism and appalling treatment we encountered are inexcusable. Our evening was marred by this incident, and we left the restaurant feeling disheartened and disrespected. In summary, my visit to Main Street Social was an absolute nightmare, and I would discourage anyone from dining there. This establishment clearly prioritizes certain customers over others, and such unprofessional behavior is unacceptable in any dining establishment. Service: 1"

"My wife and I came to Flea Street for our Valentine 's dinner this year. We drive by the restaurant often and finally decided to go check it out! We made our reservation a couple weeks in advance. They had a special menu for the week of Valentine 's Day that looked really nice. When we arrived we were seated promptly, browsed the drink menu and put in a couple cocktail orders, then looked for our food selections. When we tried to order the first item, our server told us they were unfortunately out of that item, plus four other items on a menu that was maybe 15-20 items total. To make matters worse, three of the missing items were entrees. To make matters worse still, the missing entrees included both dishes my wife and I were hoping to order, plus one of our back ups! None of the items had any indication they were in limited supply. Our server explained the earlier seating had wiped out some of the menu, however our reservation was 7:15pm so it 's not like we were coming in unexpectedly or close to closing. We were disappointed, and a little taken aback that there was no offer of anything to make up for not being able to serve a significant portion of the menu, but we did the mental work of forgetting the dishes that could have been. We really enjoyed the food we did end up getting and had a nice celebratory dinner. When the check came we were again let down. We thought perhaps something might be comped as a token of apology. But everything was fully charged, plus they had already added a 20% service charge. Rather than sour our experience by getting into a dispute over the bill, we paid up without comment. But in the couple of months since, this experience still gives us a bit of a poor taste in our mouths! Flea Street seems like a really nice place, as evidenced by its largely stellar ratings, but our experience sadly didn 't match that."

"If you are looking for a place that just wants to take your money and then kick you out the door once they have it, then this is your spot! My co-workers and I went to Supper on a Friday after work. It is funny that in the other review they said they cannot take reservations, because we called and made reservations for our outing there. When we made the reservations there was no mention of any "community table", maybe because there were 6 of us. The place is relatively small, and it was crowded. Our waitress seemed to rush us from the start and seemed annoyed when she was taking our order. The food was decent and came out hot, and that is pretty much the only part of the experience that was decent. Again they seemed rushed as they started taking up plates practically as soon as you finished putting the last bite in your mouth. Half way through our meal, they sat a couple at the very end of our table that we did not even know. The waitress brought our checks before we even asked for them. Some of the group wanted to continue to have drinks, it was then we were told that they had "booked our table for an 8 o'clock party and that we would have to "get up and stand at the bar". I'm sorry but when has it ever been ok for a place to tell you when you are done unless they are closing? After we spent all this money on drinks and appetizers and dinner and dessert, you want to tell us basically to leave because no one is standing the rest of the time. Needless to say we will not be back, neither will we be ordering for our takeout for our office. A business who does not appreciate it's customers or the money they spend, will not keep it's customers nor garner new ones."
