"My personal original favorite Hong kong Style cafe/diner. There have been many new faces in this neighborhood but Kowloon Tong has been a favorite for egg puffs, snow frog, chicken wings and Chinese desserts for over 20 years with a steady stream of college kids and neighborhood families looking for a light meal or snack. I recommend the hot sago or steamed egg/milk custard on a cold rainy day. Egg puff sundae if it's hot out the combo special if your extra hungry. If you come anywhere near closing, expect to wait as this is their rush hour and they're Family owned and operated so please tip kindly!"

"Located at the Blockbuster Plaza off of St. Georges Avenue in Linden, this establishment is literally a hidden gem. Named after the owner’s wife, I have been coming to Bella Gina’s for many years, where the owner, Anthony, greeted us upon entering today and recognized me by name. Being an old-school Italian deli, my go-to sandwich is called Mama’s Delight, consisting of fresh mozzarella made in house, tomatoes, and pesto on a hard Italian bread cut into two. One of my colleagues accompanied me, and being a first-timer, she got the prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted peppers on hard Italian bread. Both orders came with homemade potato chips. Besides sandwiches, they also have a large selection of Italian cuisine, salads, and Italian products for takeout and catering. The sandwiches are enough for two meals, are made fresh, and taste delicious. If you are in the area, give this place a try."

"A wonderful place for REALLY late night dining...meaning 10 PM or later. There's very few places that serve dinner that late. Excellent food and friendly service. The Chilean sea bass I had this week was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Bellwether."

"This is an ideal dive bar. The burger was outstanding—cooked just right, well-seasoned, and deliciously juicy. The fries were expertly prepared: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The nachos were generously loaded and bursting with flavor. The Reuben was a classic and very tasty. I highly recommend the steak sandwich; the steak was cooked to perfection, and the blue cheese added a fantastic touch. Overall, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fun. I hope to return soon. Plus, they have excellent local beer selections!"

"I recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at Earl’s Kitchen, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make the evening special. The ambiance was perfect—both elegant and welcoming—and the attention to detail was outstanding. The menu offered a great selection, and each dish was prepared to perfection. The staff took care of every request, ensuring my wife’s special day was truly memorable. The thoughtful touches, such as a personalized dessert and warm birthday wishes from the staff, made the night even more special. I highly recommend Earl’s Kitchen for any celebration or special occasion. They exceeded our expectations, making my wife’s birthday a wonderful success!"

"We had an excellent breakfast. The gluten-free banana pecan waffles were fantastic and did not disappoint. My husband tried the chicken and waffles, which he enjoyed. We also sampled the fresh watermelon lime juice and cucumber lemonade, both of which were amazing! We couldn't resist trying the fried avocado wedges—they were the best I've ever had. The service was friendly, and the staff took great care of us."

"The Chicken Cordon Bleu Crêpe was fantastic! It definitely deserves 5 stars for the crêpe, salad, and potatoes that accompanied it. All of their crêpes are delightful, including the breakfast options. The Philly Cheesesteak was also very good. However, the appetizer combo was just average; the mozzarella sticks and chicken strips were a bit dry and overcooked, while the fries and onion rings were decent. They didn’t provide any sauces or condiments for the appetizers, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I’ll definitely be returning for the breakfast and crêpes!"

"This is an excellent spot for a liquid brunch or a relaxing afternoon at the beach. The ambiance has a fun, beachy vibe that adds to the experience. They offer an extensive selection of beers and cocktails, with a unique emphasis on oversized glassware. We sampled the appetizer combo, which was standard bar fare. However, we couldn't help but notice a stunning calzone being served at another table!"

"I was in the area around lunch time and checked my options on social media. Some of the reviews suggested that a take-out might be a better option then a sit-in. Too many people complained about a 30 min to an hour wait. Today could not be a 3 Martini two hour lunch so I opted for the take-out. The plus side was that the wait time was a short 10 minutes. The ingredients: ham, salami, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar and bun were fresh on my Classic Italian Sub. They have a lot of sandwiches to choose from. Prices are fair but other restaurants are a bit cheaper in the area. The sub was $9 and it was not stuffed. The Rockaway River runes next to the cafe and they have outside seating. The downside is that you can't really see the river. Main street on the other hand is clearly visible. On the other side a small parking area is next to the train tracks. The interior has a comfortable ambiance verging on outdated. The furniture was Cracker Barrelish with interesting wallpaper. The potbelly stove fit perfectly. There were about 8 customers dining at the time. I saw one table that was not cleared while I was there. It's BYOB with Italian, American cuisine with lots of seafood choices. Things were were interesting enough that I might come back for dinner. Show less"

"We were so excited to try this highly-rated place after reading such great reviews! It ended up being pretty expensive and not like we imagined. We went there to watch a specific football game, requesting that channel when we made the online reservation. Once we were seated, had ordered and were waiting for the game to start, we were told they didnât carry that sports channel. Um, if pure going to call yourself a sports bar, you should carry all games. We had some discussion about leaving, but weâd made the drive to LaCenter and paid for parking so elected to stay. Food and drinks were FANTASTIC but overpriced. Service was good but it took a long time to get our food. We had a bill for people and only three of us were drinking alcohol. Atmosphere is great with all the TVâs but be warned, we were overwhelmed with the smell of cigarette smoke the entire time we were there. Tomâs is located directly next to the casino floor and there was no filtering system or airflow control to keep the smoke out of the restaurant. Thatâs the thing that will keep us from ever returning."

"Entirely disappointed in this dining experience. Our Valentines Day Reservation was for and right off the bat, we waited or minutes for a server to come by before going back to alert the hostess. He arrived shortly afterward and redeemed himself by being quite helpful despite the negative first impression. My first course smoked portabello appetizer was so tiny that my husband and I laughed about it.... literally what appeared to be of a very small portabello (so, a chunk) with some scattered watercress greens and a small dollop of balsamic – infused caviar. I joked to our server about the kitchen running out of portobello, and he noted that it had been a very busy night, but did not deny it. Hubby’s corn chowder app was good. Second course wedge salads were thankfully good. Then, minutes before our main course was to be served, we were informed that they ran out of the NY Strip steak (one of only three meal options, due to the prix fixe menu) and would my husband like fish or chicken. After an emphatic “No, I really wanted the steak” our server went back to the kitchen and came back to say they’d found him a tenderloin they agreed to substitute. It was good, but arrived rare instead of med-rare and needed to be sent back and cooked up. My airline chicken breast was not good — no trace of the Brie that was supposed to be inside and terribly dried out. Definitely overcooked. While the side dishes were good, they were disappointingly the highlight of my meal instead of the main course. Although we appreciated the tenderloin substitution, it was hard to justify paying per person, before drinks, for what we received on what was supposed to be a special occasion. I doubt we will return — and definitely never again on Valentines Day"

"Excellent service, great menu items. Wifey ordered a Midori sour, I must say it was made to perfection, I had a specialty drink the Searcher (duke bourbon, lemon, Blackberry purée, Basil, and thyme bitters) so good especially with the hint of Basil flavor. (Highly recommend) also had a Side car which unfortunately was a bit to strong. I also sampled the only Stout they had which was very high in alcohol Contant but lacked flavor and body of a good chocolate or coffee Stout. For appetizers we had calamari, Seafood plate which had lobster tail, Aji tuna, shrimp, and oysters. The calamari were excellent especially the little legs (I’m a legs man) The oysters were mild and very fresh, the lobster tails (served cold) were absolutely incredible, oh my gosh… so good! We also had steak bites, Brussels sprouts with chunks of ham, garlic fries (so good) and Mac and cheese (I’ve had better) For my main meal I had a beautiful garden salad with oil and red wine vinegar, mashed potatoes with a pepper steak filet mignon (cooked Med rare). The steak was very good although it was ever so slightly chewy “not sure but if I was to guess… it was not USDA prime, most likely Choice.” That being said it was still a good steak. For dessert we had a. Sampler plate with Keylime pie, crème brûlée, ice cream and cheesecake. All were really good."

"Had always wondered about this place and happen to be in the area checking out the Wallingford location of Young Tea. Think it was around 1:30-2 when I popped in for lunch there was another table with what appeared to be regulars from the conversation between the owner/server as he was talking Japanese to them. I wasn't really interested in getting something fusion. I ordered the Hamachi Kama at $10 and the Sushi Combo M at $16.95. Had thought about the chirashi but didn't want to fill up on rice. Was greeted right away friendly and quick to receive ice water. Was told the hamachi would take a little longer but wasn't in any rush appreciated the being told after ordering. Sushi fish ingredients were fresh and I liked that I had the option of having nigiri sushi rather than just rolls. As a Japanese American I don't often order the big non traditional rolls. Enjoyed the yuzu sauce that came with the kama and was a generous size for the price. Would definitely visit again when in Wallingford maybe try the chirashi next time."

"we had an age group for my man and could not have been satisfied with our experience in monterey lanes! the personal tried to fulfill our desires, and the service was excellent from the booking of the event to serve us eating that is picked up against, etc. I was happy with the clean toilets on every side of the site, conveniently placed filling cans, room for personal items, full bar, cleanliness and quality of food. I would recommend this venue for their parties or just one evening with friends or their important others. great job!"

"Been here a few times for breakfast. Always a good place to go. Staff is nice and food is good. I like that it's big and bright in there as well. Today I had the Denver omelette with country potatoes. The omelette was a good size and tasty. They pack in the ingredients. I like their big side biscuits as well. It's almost too large haha. You may have enough food that you eat the rest for lunch (that's what I do anyway). The only thing that would make this place better is if they stocked tapatio (I like the spicy)."

"WOW! I 'm so sad I found this gem just a month before we 're relocating! Our waiter, Frankie was amazing! Very professional, kind and attentive, but not overly so (aka we didn 't feel rushed at all). The ambiance was upscale, but comfortable, I wish I had been better dressed than in yoga pants and a t-shirt, but it wasn 't a big deal at 11am. Food was all very flavorful and timed appropriately. My Husband got the Hawaiian steak and said mmmm with every bite, lol. I got the chicken alfredo with less pasta, but the same amount of sauce, as requested and it was just how I like it. There was a generous portion of chicken on top that was nicely cooked as well. Garlic fries oysters and stuffed mushrooms were delicious! Portions were larger than expected, so we have leftovers, which is nice. "It was a Sunday morning and we planned to meet some of our motorcycling friends for lunch. We originally made reservations for 12:45, but got down there earlier. They were able to seat us immediately. Fortunately, our friends got down there early enough to get a parking space because if they hadn't, parking is a mess there at the pier area. So we sat on the patio, which was nice, but kinda had an alleyway feel to it. Quite a bit of foot traffic, but not much of a view. The table they sat us at was pretty small. It had a bucket in the middle with napkins, utensils, and salt/pepper. There was no way 4 drinks, 4 large plates and everything else would fit on that small table. We had to ask for an extra chair to put the bucket and a few other things on. We ordered the Tequilla shrimp appetizer that was awesome. They also brought out chips with three different kinds of salsa that were also pretty good. I had the Tres Amigos Tacos, which were three tacos...one carne asada, one shrimp, and one lobster. Those were all very good as well. My g/f had the lobster fajitas tacos, She said her's were very tasty and she liked them. We got there early enough to beat the lunch crowd, so they were not busy. Our food came out pretty quickly and was all very hot and fresh. It may be weird, but one of the ways I generally rate service is by my drink glass. Today I had water, and I had to ask several times for a refill. I like the waiter/waitress that sees a half full glass and either refills it, or at least asks if you'd like a refill. Overall, this was a very nice lunch experience. I'd go back, but I'd like to try the Old Town San Diego location next time."

"Everything was okay place is small and cramped. Latte just tasted like a regular coffee I could buy at a corner deli but cost way more. The guy that made the latte was nice. I ordered The Works bagel but it wasn’t a bagel but a sandwich ? No bathroom and when I asked several times, the people that worked there just said “outside” but I walked outside after waiting for my food and there was nothing. There was also no room to sit so I walked home instead to eat. I don’t know, I did not feel that the experience, and the latte and food I ordered was all worth $21 "

"Heard about this place for a while but never got a chance to go before till this week, I loved it and so did my friends! Love that the drinks are served in plastic to-go cups, the food was delicious, the menu has so many options that it can be a little daunting but the staff there was friendly to help us. Also get something with their action sauce I'd recommend the mystery fries, that action sauce is amazing ended up taking some home with me lol Love that they have many options for multiplayer gaming from Gamecube to Xbox at the tables! This is defiently my new hang out spot and it's just a few blocks from the L train! If I had one complaint it would be don't get there too early in the day cause the sun beams through the front window like crazy, hopefully, they get a shade or curtain for that one day!"

"As for the cheesesteak itself, it was tasty, but honestly, I don't think it was worth the $13 to $15 price range. I know that's the typical price for cheesesteaks nowadays, but for that same amount, you can get an enormous and delicious cheesesteak at Brynn Bradley. It really comes down to personal perspective. The restaurant is small and packed with tables, which makes it feel a bit cramped. It's quite dark inside, but it is clean and well-kept. I've only gotten takeout, so I can't comment much on the service aside from the fact that the woman who took my order seemed a bit frazzled when I requested a change after I had already ordered."
