"Really disappointed in the whole experience. I realize the hotel restaurant is under construction but the pop up lacks in everything. No ambience, the service was poor and the food did not live up to expectations. We ordered a meat and cheese charcuterie board that was $38 and my 15 year old son could have put together something far better than what we received. Breton crackers, the smallest pieces of cheese that was not identified to us, it looked like it was put together with the most minimal amount of effort and care. The cheese rolls were very small and presented oddly on a small side plate instead of being kept warm in a basket. When the server asked us if everything was ok because we really didn’t each much of the cheese board I mentioned how really disappointing it was. He seemed to take offence and make excuses. The only remedy was a free dessert I feel they should have credited the board. I would not dine there again."

"JB's Deli is a cute local staple. They have such a big menu! They have sandwiches, baked goods, deli salads, plus a pharmacy in the back. I got their veggie and cheese sandwich and paid extra for extra cheese and avocado. The sandwich comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion. You can choose a side of pasta salad, baked beans, or chips, and it comes with a pickle. The sandwich was good, a very typical vegetarian sandwich. The best part of the sandwich was the amount of cheese they put on it and the onion bun it came on. The veggie sandwich didn't have any pizzazz though! I've been spoiled with how creative people have gotten with veggie sandwiches micro greens, beets, hummus. I just wanted a little more! Although I wouldn't come back for this sandwich, they still had so many other vegetarian options that I would come back for, such as the pasta salad. The pasta salad had a lot of fresh herbs and was very yummy. They also had breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, baked beans, potato pancakes, blintzs. knishes, bagels, and more. Plenty of options! The inside of the deli is so cute. It seems like a classic old Chicago building with the tile floor, exposed brick wall, and ornate ceiling. There is some outdoor seating along the sidewalk if you have a nice day and want to eat outside. Otherwise they have additional seating behind the cashier. The deli is right off Clark street, so you can usually find parking or take the 22 bus. I would definitely come back here! It would be a great place to grab some food for a picnic by the lake."

"I had dinner there with my family after receiving rave reviews of the restaurant. Our server was very nice, but marginally incompetent. He didn't know many details about the menu when asked for details. One of the starters was served without any of the 3 ingredients (olives with canned citrus and fried parsley - served without the fried parsley - not the waiter's fault). The waiter presented the special as an appetizer, but it was actually an appetizer. My main course (or should I say "starter") was served about 5 minutes after the rest of my table had already served their main courses. I was able to order another main course when it was clear that I had ordered an appetizer, but by then the rest of the table was done with the main course. The rest of the people at my table enjoyed the food and the beers were delicious, but overall my experience was not great."

"Ashley K. Behind the bar is always wonderful. She makes an amazing cosmo and the Cobb salad is out of this world. The GM, Zachery popped by to greet us as well and was absolutely delightful. Highly recommend this fantastic spot. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Ahi Tuna Salad"

"We absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! I usually avoid ordering meat dishes because I've been let down in the past. However, last night I decided to try the short ribs stroganoff, and I finished the entire plate—it was so delicious that I almost wanted to lick it clean! My partner and son had pancakes, and of course, they were excellent too. We will definitely be back. Our server was fantastic!"

"We had the fish and chip in the cage and pasta and our friends had the Cobb salad and the roast beef. Of course we had the broccoli wings which were to die for. This is an excellent restaurant locally and family owned we would recommend it for everyone!"

"The restaurant was conveniently located for us and the menu looked good. When we arrived they had no means of checking a reservation and didn't have a table ready for us. It took about 15 minutes for anyone to greet our table at all, so we were able to already decide on our dinner by the first time a server talked to us. It then took another 25-30 minutes for our dinner to arrive. We had a Caesar salad, sliders, and lobster mac and cheese and I wouldn't order any of it again. The beer was good and it seemed like a fun place. There was live music that was really good, but the whole place was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation."

"The staff at Di Salvo, particularly Michael Fossati, who is the catering and banquet manager, were amazing and made our wedding reception planning completely stress-free and enjoyable. Mike guided my fiancée and me through the challenges of having a wedding during a pandemic, addressing the concerns of guests who were anxious about their safety but still wanted to celebrate with us. He handled food accommodations effortlessly. On the day of the reception, which had been postponed due to COVID, the service was incredibly fast and smooth. Every course was served promptly and cleared away without a hitch, and Mike even had a wallet ready for the money dance when we found ourselves without one! They truly made what I expected to be a hectic event much more manageable. I would definitely choose Di Salvo's Station Restaurant for our wedding reception again!"

"Vday, unreal, wife is chef and had only one comment, au grautin taters short on spices, and still great,, some dish or two usually goes home to be fixed, taters were eaten as was, and no fixes to any of the take home. Server Andrea, consummate. Personable, not intrusive, attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, dish prep and ingredients, and fun. The atmosphere is quiet, subtle, no distractions. One glass wine, two mixed drinks, two entrées with sides, salad and mushroom soup as apps. Bone in ribeye, perfect. Salmon on rice, perfect. I'm rice-neutral, this was among the best I've ever had and could be eaten for breakfast every morning. Huge flavor. Asparagus was firm at the tip and no stranding down the stalk, and huge. All the portions were large enough for take home. We ate about half of everything. It's a lot of food. 2hrs of perfect coursing. All that for $240 with tip. Worth every penny. "The staff at Descanso Gardens Restaurant are attentive and kind, but the management definitely needs improvement. This review is based on my visit on April 14, 2019, when I celebrated my birthday, though I've encountered similar problems on other visits. Despite having a reservation for two on a Sunday, we waited 30 minutes for our table. When I reserve, I expect the table to be ready, but we waited just as long as walk-ins. To make things worse, it took over 20 minutes to get our check. Our server, Jamie, was incredibly sweet but was overwhelmed by a rude and demanding group, doing her best to keep up. These issues seem to lie with management rather than the staff. The food was decent, maybe even good, but the overall experience was disappointing and left a poor impression. As a Descanso member, I don’t plan to return anytime soon."

"Nice, cozy room with a small but well-designed selection of beers. The food is also very good; The starters may seem a little expensive for a gastropub, but for gourmets they are comparable in complexity and taste to dishes in the rich table, a rare find in the outer mission / Bernal. If you are looking for tasty snacks, great cocktails and beer in the neighborhood, I highly recommend this hotel."

"The service was horrible!! We had to wait more then an hour between each course, and not because the kitchen couldn't keep up with orders, but because they had no waiters available!! Hence, when food finally arrived to the table, it was barely warm!! Nobody would refill our water. We had to wait for dessert menu! Finally, I had complained to the hostess, and they had offered us free wine with dessert for the inconvenience. Apparently they had a large private party and all waiters were occupied there. Still, it's no excuse since our reservation was made several days in advance and accepted"

"We had a great lunch at Wa Jeal. Starting with spring onion pancakes (delicious) and ending with chicken and broccoli (again delicious), the lunch (rice, main course and soup) was very cheap and delicious. The environment is wonderful - brick walls and pretty decorations and the service excellent. Highly recommended!!"

"We spent the day in the Bishops Arts area. We ate pizza at Enzo's with a group of 6 people. We had salads, artichoke dip and pizza. The bartender was very friendly. The waiter was attentive. The artichoke dip was good, completely different from usual, the salads were fresh, the pizza is more of a flatbread. It's like a pizza topping on a cracker. It was a nice change of pace and everyone enjoyed it, but it wasn't your usual pizza. The atmosphere is lively and the restaurant is in a great location. We had a good time and would go back."
