"Updated review: 04/01/2022: One of the great things about Shari's is, you can have breakfast for dinner. I had the $15 country fried steak and eggs, $1 for loaded hash browns. It comes with french toast or pancakes. The food tasted fine. Service was slow as usual. I noticed they raised the price of the Fri-Sat prime rib by $2. It no longer comes with a soup or salad, instead replaced by a dinner roll. Updated 02/14/2022: Pro tip: At Shari's, you can add an extra beef patty for $3. I believe they are 8oz patties. That is not necessary because I was really full from their single patty burger. My hangover burger $13 was awesome. This is probably one of the best burgers in San Bruno. It came with bacon, crispy hash browns, egg, lettuce, red onions, tomato. I added Swiss cheese $1 and guacamole $1. Service is usually slow here. But still, this was a very good meal. Updated 02/11/2022: Good times as always at Shari's. We had the 3x 10 oz prime ribs $21 each (Fri-Sun only), cinnamon roll french toast $11 and prime rib dip $13. We didn't order it though, but they have a Valentine's weekend $30 meal for two that comes with pie. At dinner time, the restaurant was full with a short line. I'm thinking it was because of the slow kitchen. Our food took about half an hour to come out. Service was as expected for a full house. Updated 10/20/2021: Heads up, free slice of pie on Wednesdays 4pm-10pm. Service was a little slow. We didn't see our waiter until 15 minutes after we've been seated. The steaks were good though. I was surprised about the free slice of pie on Wednesday 4pm-10pm. We ended up taking it to go because we were so full. Original review: Shari's was not crowded at all at 6:30pm. We had the prime rib (available only after 4pm on Friday and the weekend) and a T-bone steak eggs. They ran out of the regular steaks. Right after we ordered our prime ribs, it was no longer available as the party behind us tried to order it after seeing our meals. The 10oz prime rib meals come with either a salad or soup and two sides. We picked the baked potato (fully loaded), broccoli, fries (fully loaded) and spinach. It was a lot of food. The prime rib was not bad. It was slow cooked with an herb edge. The T-bone steak was great. Service was excellent and we tipped her 30 ."

"Amazing food*, not so great service. We went here twice in two weeks and each time we saw our server once at the start to take the orders, once to drop them off, once to leave the bill. That’s it. We had to flag down other people to get refills on water. It’s a cute place with nice atmosphere and the food once again is very good, but good luck trying to be served properly. *the food, while good, is often way more expensive than it’s worth, sometimes with laughably small portion sizes. I got salmon wrapped eggs on potato pancakes. Tasted delicious, but for 4-6 mouthfuls of food, I want to spend less than 15 bucks. They treated that one in particular like a house special meal, when it was the size of a medium appetizer for two. Would I go here again? Yes. Would I come here often? Not a chance."

"First visit to this location. We arrived not too long after opening and the doors have a sign up saying the A/C is currently broken (this was fine for us since it was morning and not too hot). Once inside, we noticed the pie case was pretty bare (we had planned to leave with pies but ended up not getting any). We were seated quickly and our waitress brought us water glasses then took our drink order (we didn 't end up drinking the water so I felt it was wasteful). After deciding on what we wanted to order, I took a look around and noticed that the lamp above us was dusty. While waiting for our food, I noticed the server clear a previously used table and she didn 't clean it at all no sanitizing, no wiping with a rag, just cleaned up the trash and put out new silverware. Our food arrived in a timely manner and was appropriate portions. The fruit bowl was just honeydew and cantaloupe (I was expecting more of a variety). They had placed butter on my companion 's toast and neither of us had expected that most places give you the butter separately and let you decide if you want to put it on your toast. The food was fine. Visiting the bathroom you walk past booths that need repair, once blue carpet that is nearly black in many places, and the nearly empty pie cases. In the bathroom, there is no soap dispenser, instead they are using a condiment squeeze bottle to put soap in which ended up giving me too much soap. I think they need to take better care of this location, and there should be pies available for us to purchase, it 's not like they sold out in the brief time they had been open before we arrived."

"The lady that was probably the manager smelled like pure smoke. She was picking at her ear while taking our order, when she gave us our drinks she put her hand all around the area that our mouths go on. She touched our forks and knives with her hands. The food was good but the environment was uncomfortable and disgusting that we lost our appetite. Her clothes were dirty and her stomach was out to the point where you can see her underwear. She was breathing really hard on our food too. This restaurant has changed for the worst because it used to be so nice, the employees were nice and were formal but now it’s completely different."

"My recent visit to Shari’s Cafe and Pies of Springfield OR-167 was highly disappointing. Upon arrival, we were initially seated in a booth with torn leather seating, despite there being plenty of other available booths. After requesting to be reseated, we were given a better spot. The service was extremely slow. It took forever to get our food, and when it finally arrived, my salad came just moments before the main dish. My chicken Florentine was burnt, and I was supposed to get a dinner roll, which never came. Additionally, I wanted a regular baked potato as one of my two sides, but they were out of it. I opted for a side salad instead, thinking it would count as my second side with a $1 extra charge, but I was charged $3 for the salad and never received my second side. My wife ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese, which was supposed to come with blue cheese and green onions. The dish did not match the description at all, and the portion size was tiny, more like an appetizer. Overall, we spent $65.76 for two adult dinners and two kids’ meals, including tips, and we left the restaurant still hungry. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all."

"Well, first we were seated next to the back kitchen and the shake machine y was loud and obnoxious so they seated us closer to the front doors after we requested it. Our waitress was nice , soft spoken but she wasn't the greatest waitress at least not today. Our hash browns we're cold and not completely done. When we told them about it instead of remaking it it offering anything we were brought a slice of avocado and tomatoe. The bathroom was lie a sauna and a mess! They did not have the customers that would have warranted this kind of service I would not recommend the Shari's on N Division (by bed bath and beyond and trade Joe's"

"We went here with family for pie and ice cream. The staff was friendly and the waiter did a good job. Here 's the problem though... the AC was set to a temp that could have kept food at refrigerator cold. We mentioned it to the guy that seated us and to the waiter but the host replied, really? I 'm sweating . And the waiter offered to seat us in another section but the temp was pretty much the same. We watched a woman from another table a couple rows over leave and return with two blankets for her table. The customers were suffering and what a waste of energy. Also the seats in our booth were seriously worn and had big holes in the upholstery a bit of a dump. Saving the best for last I have to say the pies were awesome! In the future I would just get pie to go and forego sitting in the dining room."

"I've loved Shari's restaurants since I was a child. My mom would always take me here for dinner every Sunday evening. I've never had a bad experience with the customer service, and some of the waitresses are exceptionally kind—they still recognize me from when I used to come here as a kid. The food is absolutely amazing, and I have no problem being patient while our waitress takes our orders and the chef prepares our meals. I think some people could benefit from improving their patience as a way to show appreciation for the staff, especially the elders.
